When the 1st lady said that getting sober isn't the problem, its staying sober, I honestly felt that. I too struggle with alcohol addiction. I had a cop give me a break when I was 17. Sitting in the car with the keys in the ignition but not on. I failed the field sobriety but asked if I had my friends parents from 3 doors down walk me to their house would he let me go and a man to his word he did. It’s been 13 years and I have never thought about getting behind the wheel inebriated or even buzzed. That was a good cop who saved my life and possibly someone else’s.
While I'm impressed with the cop, I'm more impressed with you! Most people don't take that opportunity to change their behavior,. especially not as a teenager. Good for you!
Same here but weren't drunk, just had open beers, threw out window, he found them. Had to tell our parents as he was going to. We did he didn't. 47 years ago 😅
I was having a VERY bad day once, was lying in the street on a median, when someone honked at me and cursed "gtfo the road" I got up angry and started towards their car, almost getting hit by a different car, when I got to their window, (very aggressively btw) I realized it was a cop. He very calmly said, please stay off the road way, and go home.... I easily could've been tased or shot with the way I was acting, and his actions saved me. Not all cops are bad. Thanks officer Lloyd.
I had too many to drink one night and figured it out once I tried to drive. It was probably 2am and I was alone on the highway and I drove really slow and it was dang hard trying to stay between the lines. I was praying to get home safe. I was going so slow I would have been a target if there had been a police car on the highway that night. I asked God to help me stay away and alert enough to get home and I would never do that again. I had a little girl home with my sister waiting for me and I didn’t have the money for jail, high insurance and was already living with her so I had nothing much. I made it home without harming myself or anyone else thankfully and I never did that again! I never realized how hard it would be to stay alert after drinking a few. That was actually very scary. I remember how scary it was and never did it again.
I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. Kudos to him for being a good cop, but she deserves none of it. A drunk driver is always one sip away from causing literal tragedies. Ruining multiple lives in a second.

It’s not that people don’t support cops! We as a society shouldn’t just blindly support all them and protect those that are abusing their power! There are a lot of great cops, the majority in fact. But the bad ones need to be called out for their behavior!
Plenty of cops do good work but there is ones who abuse their postion and the police do have an issue of properly dealing with it, police shouldn't just be fired for abuse when they are caught by the public.
Awesome Bro.
I really liked that first cop. He was stern with her, but encouraging about her sobriety. Good on him.
I have no sympathy for drunk drivers. Kudos to him for being a good cop, but she deserves none of it. A drunk driver is always one sip away from causing literal tragedies. Ruining multiple lives in a second.

@@Huls0356 It's not that we don't support the police. Most simply don't put blind trust in the police. You can have an amazing neighbors, but that doesn't mean that you keep your doors, windows, and cars unlocked, because most of them are amazing.
You take precautions, regardless of who's involved.
Same way with the police. There are some amazing police out there, who deserve more credit than they get.
Which is why it's very important we take those precautions, punish the bad apples, and don't let genuinely corrupt, ego-tripping cops get away with wrong-doing,
otherwise, they will ruin the trust and relationship between good cops and the public.
Not to mention all of the other horrible things that abuses in power can do.
THIS CONTINUOUSLY UPSETS ME. WHY DO PEOPLE DRINK AND DRIVE? MY ENTIRE LIFE WAS MADE A DAILY STRUGGLE BECAUSE A DRINK DRIVER HIT ME AND TORE MY BODY APART. I BARELY SURVIVED AND I'M STRUGGLING DAILY FROM THE INJURIES FOR THE LAST 37 YEARS. I CANNOT STAND DRUNK DRIVERS!
People simply don't care about others sadly
Not everybody lives their life knowing about you they are actually dealing with their own struggles and make poor choices did you know that
@deadmanswife3625 poor choices are things that affect only that person. Drunk driving is a criminal activity that kills people
Cause the laws are a joke. First offense should be 6 months mandatory in jail and 1 year suspension. Second should be lifetime suspension and 2 years prison. I know that's harsh but it needs to be to scare people into not drinking and driving ... I've driven drunk before when I was younger, but if I knew I'd be locked up for 6 months if I got caught there's no possible way I'd have gotten behind the wheel.
I drove drunk once. Never again. I was so thankful that I didn't hurt or kill someone.
These cops are honestly pretty good people. I love to see nice good cops like this who don’t have an attitude and try to stay polite and professional.

I mean i don't think they really needed to throw the Double knee replacement old lady to the ground and kneel on top of her but yeah other than that they were good.
I just think it's funny they can cover you in bruises and that's just in the course of doing their dirty but if you sneeze in their general direction it's assault against an officer. Like you KNOW she's going to walk away with way more bruises. I doubt the cop even felt that "kick".
And they love to throw in resistanting arrest for "tensing up", especially if you're mouthing off or they just don't like you.
But I digress. Yeah she was being a pain and brought it on her self but they could've taken her age and size into consideration. I really don't think body slamming her was the only way 2 grown male cops could get cuffs on her. 🙄

7 1/2 months sober. These videos keep me wanting to go for that 1 year mark.
I don’t drink and I don’t have any known addiction issues but I know it’s a lifelong struggle. I do, however, struggle with my temper. That’s a daily struggle. We all seem to have something. Good luck to you!
Keep going and good for you! Praying your holding on strong to your goal. 🙏🥹
Hope you’re now at 8 months. Keep going!
Keep it up, you can do it. Lean on friends if need be. I'm five years, three and a half months off of Heroin, so I understand. I was off the booze for over 19 years, and picked up an opiate habit, that began with pills, and ended up with Heroin. I didn't want any of it to happen. I had the money to support the dope, so there were no outside problems, with the law, or any of that. But, I worked every day, and was on the stuff. Not a good choice in my line of work. Anyway, here it is, over five years now, and no dope. Good luck on your journey. Like I said, use friends, your higher power, whatever it takes. You can do it.
Congrats on your sobriety
Damn that cop is awesome, she needed that conversation. Bless her , she will appreciate this one day
When she’s saying “f@ck” over and over in the back of the cop car, I felt that in my soul. I know exactly how it feels to know you’re totally screwed and there’s nothing you can do about it

trauma is no joke, and we do whatever we can to numb the pain.
I agree 100%. I got dependent on benzos after witnessing my brother passed suddenly. I have flashbacks daily and made my already severe anxiety almost unbearable.
