Lol, same. I learn it completely, and then gradually forget. Hiragana always stays stuck in my mind though. I think watching this video multiple times might just help.
Watching the full 1 hour version should help, because she gives tips on how to remember the sounds. Eg., the character ru looks like the roots of a tree. This shorter version is good for review, after you go over the more detailed lesson.
Angelo Gañac I know that, I just use mainly -to what I said above-.. And I see grammar that is sometimes really odd.. that I don't really get (I I know about は、が、へ、で、を. など etc..) I try to do my daily study thing but haven't really been doing kanji.. which should, but I want to focus on pronunciation and phonetics.. so what I really should do is make a daily goal.. but I haven't for some reason because talking to cousin or whatever. I feel like I'm not learning enough and I'm kind of disappointed with my progress (since Feb. 13). Don't get me wrong, I've been putting in effort, I've just been kind of confused. Time/money is a major issue too for me. If you have any resources you know (esp. grammar) please tell me! (Already know about genki, tae kims guide, remembering the kanji)
グレースジェイコブ Yeah actually me too. I really need workbooks on grammar. The only workbooks I have is on kanji and it’s a book by Tuttle Publishing. But it was a bit expensive. And I’ve been learning Japanese since March of this year, and the only things I’ve accomplished is kana, and some kanji. I really need stuff in grammar. I also know of a channel called LangFocus and he made a video on how to learn languages. Definitely check it out. I’ll link the URL if I find it.
I am currently learning korean, but write down hiragana for my sister to learn Cuz she is a lazy ass but wants to learn japanese, and i can say that even the time it took me writing down all the charakters took soo much time, now i wanna write down katakana too, but maybe i will do this another day oof. I wanna learn japanese too after i can speak and write korean quite good.
IDKW, but after _YEARS_ of studying Japanese, I am still struggling with Katakana! IMO, some of the kana are either too oversimplified OR they look too similar to other kana and kanji! 😖
It is simply an "n"; ahmad said it well. Note the "n" is a *complete* character; you have syllables that consist of only "n". I've heard some songs where they have "n" stretch over multiple notes. Beautiful, and sounds very interesting from a phonetic point of view.

hey thanks for the basic katakana help, but can you do Dakuten and combo katakana
@@DIRTBAG-sy5mg yes
I learned the whole hiragana and it was so fun but i can't finish katakana. I'm so lazy 😂
depressed lil bean same
Same. I memorized hiragana on my first try, but this is my third attempt at katakana!
Minty Vocaloid179 yea I also find hiragana prettier , I hope it will change xD
Althought I try to learn katakana first I didn't finish it, I can only read and write in hiragana right
lol o geuss you need to find a reason why you want to learn japanese (for what purposes) and really give it some effort.
In my class there is a girl who was born in Japan and speaks Japanese and English, and today she taught me 目, カラス, and 鳥. She's nice!
I always confuse シ and ツ、and I confuse ソ and ン. They're just similar so it's a bit hard for me to remember sometimes
Carefully and hwaiting
Wtf me too there are the same for meeee
@@Luke50Yen Thank you, I've gotten better at it, but that will still help me
Same here, but after lots of practice on Duolingo i get less confuse now.
@@Luke50Yen That's actually handy as!
Exactly what I needed. Wanted to brush up on my katakana by rewatching the 1 hour video but I found this!
I'm going to be watching this video religiously because I've been learning Japanese for years and still suck at Katakana 😂
ravenclvw same. Lol
try writing down the entire katakana script
SAME!!!
don't feel bad, me too
Lol, same. I learn it completely, and then gradually forget. Hiragana always stays stuck in my mind though. I think watching this video multiple times might just help.

Hiragana is easy but when it comes to Katakana....
Why is it hard to remember-

aisukeriimu?
if its icecream i think its aisukurimu

i think because they are more straight and stuff, they look more similar
This video is so helpful for me to learn katakana because the explanation is clear and the teacher is so cheerful! :)
why is hiragana so much easier to memorize then katakana :(
No. I think if we learn Kathakana, before Hiragana, the situation must be changed . But I also in your situation 🤝
Because several characters in katakana look so similar

Just going to keep replaying this video until I memorize it because KATAKANA IS SO HARD
Try writing it instead of just watching. A line per character every day is a good way to learn it quickly...
Its Easy, Remember That You Write it as you pronounce it. Good Luck!
@Treppy Sew wait u guys didn't do that?
now i've mastered all kana! now,i gonna learn Kanji! :D
I also review it after all the kanji and then,i gonna learn Japanese Grammar! :D
Fuck yeah
This is such a helpful learning video! Thank you!
I've been learning katakana since January and still can barely read it, so a going to be on this video for a while
How's your progress? :)
Mark 17 I could do hiragana in an hour
@@itsyoboyfam6650 iam mostly stuck at the t's for katakana
I can remember Hiragana easily, but Katakana is a step further, just try writing a line of each character everyday, it’s a really good technique imo
Tip: write all the katakana characters you remember, you will learn katakana fast using this method.
シ = Shi
ツ = Tsu
ソ = So
ン = N
ン and ソ aren't that hard to tell apart because one is much higher and one is low
I always confused here

Same I’m so fluent in reading hirigana and writing it as well. However I can only read a few katakana characters and can’t write it at all😭
Jung Shook I gave up xD
Wow katakana is so easy to learn once you've gotten really good at hiragana! It's about time to start climbing Mount Kanji >_
I learn hiragana with your past video now I am learning katakana 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hiragana is easier to learn because it’s more complex and different from other words and katakana is more angular
I know katakana but I rarely read/use it. I usually use hiragana and kanji and just katakana with loan words コンビニやコカ・コーラやアルバイトを使う
グレースジェイコブ well, katakana is mainly used for loan words.
Angelo Gañac I know that, I just use mainly -to what I said above-..

theres no escape for katakana, due to the amount of loanwords in how westernised japan these days is
@@user-yk1cw8im4hbut why not just use hiragana? I think Japanese should just get rid of katakana and kanji 😅

Can you make a video on half-width Katakana? I can't find anything about it ;-;
There re 10 videos where she teaches katakana
CutEddie Well, the half width katakana isn’t used in Japanese. At least that’s what I know. But I know it’s used in Ainu or something
it's just a smaller version of katakana, used for creating sounds like ja je jo ju or va ve vi vo etc
attractive presentation!
Thank you
pasokon is computer? is that paso and kon like personal computer? PC? I thought it was konpyuutaa コンピューター
Pasokon is a abbreviation of Personal Computer.. パーソナルコンピューター

Having spanish as a first language makes japanese pronunciations so easy since they sound similar
ソ and ン are really confusiong. So is like a triangle like this 🔽 and n is a triangle like this ▶️ draw lines and practice
Great video. Thanks mam
Wonder how kanji will be like

the hiragana video had all the dakuten variations, do they translate the same to katakana?

Nice,,,
If Katakana is primarily used for writing foreign loanwords, then shouldn’t it have dedicated mora to include letters: L, V, Q, X, ä, ö, å & y (eu)?
It would be useful but whoever made katakana just stuck with the original sounds to keep things simple.
V does exist I'm pretty sure the "vu" sound is when you use dakuon on ウ
I so wish this quickly had the pneumonias with each character 😂
I totally get hiragana but for some reason katakana is just so hard and I don’t wanna learn it. But I have too
I already know Japanese

Which is best to learn first? Hiragana or Katakana?
Kotya hiragana is easier than kata
Wellington Lima Okie, thanks!
Hiragana because that video is 1hour long and explains most things
Hiragana, since that's the main alphabet. Katakana second because it's only for names, sounds, and science words.
