Are you referring to the Artgum, at 9:50? It's a soft eraser for erasing graphite on paper, sketches. I would not recommend using this to erase "hardline drawing", drafting.
Yes in some degree. Although, all professional design and architectural firms use drawing software such as Revit and/or AutoCAD as well as other digital 3D programs. Hand drawings are still used for ideating and sketching
