i have in fact my classic c-64 and my c64 c, both... lol, i remember those times when i was 10 years old and i began to program in basic with the datasette, the old Ahoy! and Compute magazines ... lol... 1984... the song is fablous paul!, regards...
That's awesome! I was the same way about trying to beat my Zelda games. Also really fun to do with some Zeppelin, Dio or Maiden playing in the room. Yep, I'm a nerd!
This reminds me of what a royal pain in the ass it was to set up my Colecovision Adam computer. It too had a cassette drive instead of a floppy. Unfortunately, this was the computer that sunk the Coleco company. It retailed for way more than expected, and it was estimated that about 5 out of every 6 units shipped to stores were faulty. I know the cassette drive on mine went south after a couple years. Plus, if you left a tape in the drive when you powered up, everything on the tape would get wiped out. And the main power source was in the printer, which meant it had to be on all the time, even if you weren't using it. So many design flaws, but when it did work, the graphics were way cool, and it was backwards compatible, so it could also play the old Colecovision cartridge games. The Adam marked a very interesting yet fleeting time in my experience with computers in the 80's.
I thought I had dug up something I hadn't seen before and when I went to give it a thumbs up it reduced the number instead of increased it! It makes me question what state I was in when i first saw it.
My favourite bit was ... wrote a program to print my name 20 times. I only had to type 200 lines. I remember seeing people code like that. You know an anagram of 'Weird Petrowsky' is 'kid retypes row'. I bet just afterwards you discovered the FOR loop.
Hey, I didn't notice that you were using a dot matrix printer as an instrument in this song the first time I listened. Cool! If you haven't heard it before, the song Sleep by Treewave makes great use of printers too (you can find it easily on RUclips). -Robin
Man I wish I had used a dot matrix printer on this - it's actually a keyboard playing through a vocoder. I was going for that sound though, and I could have easily gotten a printer and done it! I listened to the Treewave song, that's amazing, wish I'd thought of it!!
I'm just so tired of repeatedly (although I rather like Apple Computer in the case as MS-Windows PCs) see reports of MS-Windows or Apple TV in the news. And unfortunately, since the mid-nineties. As if there are like back in the 80s no other operating systems or other native meals computer companies or native meals computer brands.
This had me laughing quite a bit; I especially liked the BASIC program near the end when you printed your name 20 times. I was thinking the program would have been a FOR/NEXT loop, and with great comedic timing, you showed the listing, and it was a (perfectly) dumb way of doing it.
Is it just me or did anyone else have a thing about inserting a joystick into port 1 or 2 or turning over the cassette deck to get a game to load. I literally had a notepad that informed me (from past experience) that certain games must be loaded this way. It seems like nonsense but I'm sure it worked. 1942, Thing on a spring, commando, any Dizzy game, spy hunter, all day!
Godamnit right now I need to play old video games all night long.. How we can explain to the Boss tommorow at work, that's cuz the weird paul music is contagious..
I never noticed that, yeah it does have that same kind of a riff in it. I did the voice with an Electrix WarpFactory vocoder. I bought it back around 2004 when I had some money. I still use it in songs every once in awhile.
jgando111278 Yes it is still working! I'm sorry to hear that yours is not! Did you see my video about my floppy disk yet? ruclips.net/video/iNXoRJdWbYo/видео.html
My C64 burned up in 1993, the keyboard went buy buy. The computer was mostly in the board. I did sale my datasette, and 1541 drive, and my 5 modems, and c64 mouse, and joy stick, and my monitor, and all my games, that year. It sold for 200 dollars. It went into my, buy me a car fund. In high school I started to be exposed to the internet, and Microsoft. I technically lost interest.
I moved out of my parents' house in 1991. So I did not have access to the Commodore 64 anymore. But after a few years, I found another one cheap and that's the one I have now!

That's awesome! I was the same way about trying to beat my Zelda games. Also really fun to do with some Zeppelin, Dio or Maiden playing in the room. Yep, I'm a nerd!

This, my friends, is what we had before touch screens. Also, I'm from the 2000s, I'm not actually 80s. Still an awesome decade though.
I like how this song sounds a bit psychedelic, like out of the late 60s to early 70s.
Thanks Ben!
This one's great dude.
Thanks!!
Wish this would get a 7 Inch release.
Dealing with a broken computer right now. It gave me a chance to rock out to your playlist!
I thought I had dug up something I hadn't seen before and when I went to give it a thumbs up it reduced the number instead of increased it! It makes me question what state I was in when i first saw it.

Hey weird Paul is your c64 still up and running? I've had mine working for many years but a few years ago it passed away unfortunately

Canavar Man They were called "Pocket Bots" and were made by the company Tomy in the late 70s - www.theoldrobots.com/tomy2.html
please learn what iteration is. For each (or goto in basic) instead of 20 print statements.
Do you have a song about Nintendo? :p
Kevin Arcade I don't have a song about Nintendo, but I have a song about the original Pokemon Gameboy games: ruclips.net/video/dhvW8eL1g_U/видео.html
