How to Grow Lewisia in Pots

  • Lewisia are basically Alpine or Rock Garden plants, native to North America they are frost hardy but hate cold and wet, rotting quickly. Give them good drainage and a little protection over winter and they will last for years. These three are rainbow hybrids that come in a range of bright colours. They need very little attention after planting, we feed once a month and only water if they are looking dry.

      Oh no 😟 we’ve had so much rain this year luckily ours have survived so far

      @@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 I think our issue is that it comes all at once. The pot has drainage and I used a very sandy soil, but I think I need to elevate the pot in the future so the drainage hole can flow more freely.

      Yes that’s what we did when it rained for months as they hate to be water logged . This winter I might bring them into my unheated conservatory
