In case no one has mentioned it yet, to get a Golem Core, you tame a regular Rock Elemental, and then in the radial menu you can extract the core. This will kill the tamed golem and apparently also has a chance to spawn a storm golem, FYI.

you can also just go around and kill regular rock elemental to spawn the storm golem it mostly works when there is a storm or the rock elemental is standing in water that how i did it,

Right on time!
But Meola, I think you've forgot to read how many Omni kibbles needed for those Mantises. Each of them required 6 Kibbles, since you only had 5 kibbles, that probably stopped you from feeding them. You might have to feed all the Kibbles at once to get them tamed.
If you're going to do the Mantis thing again, try getting some kind of traps and hop on a tame, kill all the other dinosaurs near the area and then try to tame the Mantises.
And it wouldn't stop you from feeding if you were low. It would still allow you to at least begin the taming. But yeah, the 259 iirc only needed 4.
No point of killing things around its much easier to get some gates and put em around the mantisto trap it
@@Movienut1992 The thing is, he couldn't actually feed most of the Mantises because the feed ( E ) option didn't show up, so he probably missed out on multiple Mantises that required only 4 Kibbles.
@@nothunter8743 Killing the dinos surrounding the area will un-agro the Mantises. I don't think Meola can make like 10 gates just to tame 1-2 Mantises in the process, since he's doing it in a very open area. Unless if he decided to do it in a tight space or a Ditch, he can use lesser gates to prevent them from roaming around.
@@tie8180 yeah but rhay wouldn't stop him from being able to feed them when they weren't aggroed. You were saying he couldn't because he didn't have enough, but that doesn't stop the taming process from being started.
U should put an S+ automatic gate on the Ramp up to ur base. To help keep wild dinos from wandering up it. And possible destroying ur tames/base

Deathworm horn are used to tame mantis on normal ark maybe that will help you tame them faster...deathworm horn is preferred food for mantis
To spawn in a storm golem you may need to defeat a golem WITH a golem (like how to get spider legs)

Hey Meola! I’ve been playing along with your series and found that Storm Golems very frequently spawn when I kill regular old Rock Elementals.

At the beginning of the year we found out I had a heart disease and it kept me from working even until now. My pc died so I couldn't play Ark and I couldn't fix my pc because Im still not working. I couldn't follow the mod series with my own playthrough but I've watched all your series this year and it helped me not care too much about my dead pc. So thank you sir, you are awesome.

MEOLA i think the reason why you couldn't feed the mantis properly is because they are getting angry at the nearby Creatures and attacking them and getting agroed or whatever
Mantises have to be idle (aka not hunting) to be passive tameable. Hasnt changed just like the wyvern you tried to knock out before.
Not sure why it said to place the attractor near wild dinos. I think it meant just not in your base.

Mantis trap. 3x3 foundation with attractor in middle. Walls on every foundation honeycomb inside 2 high. With ramps all around it. No agro if kill everything near
You should get that Royal Wyrm, they are pretty fun and good.
OK MEOLA IM GOING TO SAY THIS AGAIN!!!!!!! take down Rock Elemental/Golem: you know the ones that look like huge boulders and when you run up on them then they pop up so
go find them. they have a larger percentage of turning into a Storm Elemental/Golem. on the same island your on i have my base and now i have taken down 6 Rock Elementals and each one has turned into a Storm Elemental/Golem upon defeating the Rock Golem!!!!!!!!!!!!
The regular golems are probably normal ark rock golems
Amazing as always
Drake eggs can be easily grabbed. Go into Abberation cave. follow it all the way to the end and look up to the roof there is a nest area reachable by vine climbing/flying depending on settings. you can farm the eggs by killing all but high level under the egg spawn nests.
For golem cores a stone wyvern is great just fire the rock straight up to the golem's face. also killing normal rock golems (regularly found in desert areas) can spawn Storm golems, so you don't need to kill the hybrids.
Also I have found shadowmane elementals in this cave (vapor and glacial so far)

To tame a mantis I believe you need to let it kill something, then when it not aggro on anything you can feed it, but it can’t re-aggro on anything cause it loses its taming
I feel like the infuser takes the stats of basic, non-alpha dinos, which is why the infused dinos have been so weak.
it just takes the points into each stat (not the actual stat) and applies it to your spawned dino. so in a way... you're correct. since none of the spawnable versions of dinos are alphas

MEOLA a regular golem might mean just a normal rock elemental
Try taking some really high level dung beetles to clean up poop around your high level Dino’s at base. Then feed the poop to really high level nature dodos. Take that poop and use it for fertilizer and see if you can grow berries and other crops that are top notch

Just trap it somewhere where it won't agro on any dinos, and tame it without a sweat....
U can't feed them food when they are agroed

Staying at this base i would go and get those massive walls you placed at that other place and make a gate at the one place wild dinos can walk into your area.
Plan: tame a lot of dodos and make a giant area and put the mAntis thing in the middle then the mantis will kill your dodos and then you can tame them?

The mantis cologne acts as an upgraded ghillie suit. They dont aggro at all.

Poor dinosaurs sometimes they are useful sometimes they aren’t and if they aren’t they sit there for decoration
Meola the mantis need to be passive when taming. So they r not meant to be be angry and attacking other Dino’s when ur trying to tame.
This is just a guess but I bet you get the golem core from killing a rock golem, not an elemental golem.
