@@peterbeets It's well deserved :) I noticed the same in an old video with Michael Brecker with band with Makoto Ozone on piano, and hardly anyone mentions the killing solo by Makoto, only Michaels solo. Sometimes I question how musical some people are when they can't hear and recognize the greatness of a less known player.
Discovered this a few years ago, came here now beacuse he was planned to perform in the City (Bilzen) I live but that disturbing Corona virus said; 'Hello World!'
He's a great guitarist for sure. Don't let him make you feel bad. You can have something to contribute if you study hard and don't try to sound like him.
Kurt kinda sounds like a whistle on this, certainly amazing playing and generally I am a huge fan of his tone, not sure this is my favorite example of that. He is turning out to be the guy everyone looks to so it is cool to see him experiment.
Excellent musicians all...but this tempo seems a hair too fast to be “Pensativa” Oh well, it _is_ jazz, so I guess shredding is always a viable option.
Wonderful set, thank you for all the videos
Reading the comment section, how is it possible to ignore the fabulous piano solo by Peter Beets?.... Great lines, virtuosity, block chord solo!
Thank you very much, Vidar!!

9:28 - 9:33
Anyone else notice that? Running through the octave positions... like a memory of an old practice routine suddenly surfaced in his playing
Great music ❤
man, kurt wasn't takin any prisoners that night..
Kurt's solo, oh my god! That was divine. That's how you 'Lift the bandstand'. I mean wow....
LOVE IT. Kurt definitely on this night...........Band is good too..........
Very fine bass playing here too

Très beau, excellent guitariste, quel son particulier que cette guitare, on dirait presque de la flûte par moment. Beets toujours aussi génial.
Wow - sweet synth tone - seems like a tune every one on the bandstand enjoys - smiles all thru - bassist in and out dem changes - superb
Wow Kurt. Wow brother.
Fantastic performance. I like Kurt makes the harmony on the bridge.
What a beautiful guitar sound... and very beautiful playing... a great band
Sounds like strange flute!
increible grupo, exelente tema , gracias por compartir saludos
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
wonderful phrasing and sound
Kurt is such a brilliant guitarist. So good that he puts me off wanting to play and get better because I'll never be as good as him haha.

getting better and sounding good are the only things that really feel good. so it really doesnt matter!
You give up & your friends will miss playing with you. Don’t let it be a competition enjoy

Fantastic!
beleza ...the apogiatures are great ,magnific
He speaks so well on his guitar
the guitarist is making lots of interesting use of space during the piano solo... reminds me of a saxophone...
Kurt is so kill.
3:36-3:40 that run...
Fabulous! Love it! Found you while looking for Pensativa arrangements. Great job. Subbed.👍😎
What effect is Kurt using on his solo. Sounds great!
He uses a H.O.G II pedal, which he shaves off the attack to give a different sound, and follows it with a compressor to smooth things out.
Sounds like an EWI. Killer!
cool guitar player......identifiable sound KR…… Lefuj
😃💙
All wonderful players. But was Rosenwinkel really so much louder than everyone else, or is that an artifact of the recording?
He's playing his POG2. it's turned up loud so he's really dominating the sound. They could have certainly mixed it different I think.
Barry Levine in mixing we had little options, just 3 or 4 channels
New mix is on the way. Anytime these days will come on RUclips
8:49 he quotes beatrice :0
minimoog guitar? well done rest band great!
This is great classic Bossa Nova that sounds better at slower, mellow tempo. Playing this fast hides the original mellow feel.
I think I’m responsible for half of the views on this video
Haha thanks much!
seems like kurt has to play way ahead of the beat because of that compressor / whatever he has on his guitar- thats hard, but cool!
Excellent musicians all...but this tempo seems a hair too fast to be “Pensativa” Oh well, it _is_ jazz, so I guess shredding is always a viable option.
Totally agree! Way too fast. 😮
Please credit the composer.
I missed it in the intro.
Clare Fischer
How to make the guitar sound like a lame synth. Thanks Pat Metheny.
I don’t care for this guitarist’s tone, either, but Metheny doesn’t sound much like this at all. I love his and Jim Hall’s tones.
@Rory Dillon It was meant sarcastically, as in "Thanks Pat Metheny for "inspiring" other guitarists to make their guitars sound like outdated synths."
