back in like 2018 there was this dude on the floor literally not moving at all from that spot on a maze map. he sorta became a landmark in the maze and would be a point wed meet up at. a few hours in people started to get worried and tried to talk to him. when i got back on the game some hours later he was still there in the exact same position. at some point i saw him in the spawn and asked him about it and he just said he passed out drunk. The dude really had people nervous.
Had a similar situation in one world, but not for quite as long. Thankfully no physical harm had come to him, but he certainly hasn’t be playing as much since (but then again I was still new to the game at the time so I didn’t really know how frequently he got on beforehand).

I have a vrc friend that was an alcoholic no lifer and their have been times where he had alcoholic seizures in vrc. It was rather disturbing and was frustrating when you really can't do anything about it. He later stopped drinking and got off vrc, but has turned into a stimulant addict. We occasionally talk and play valorant for now. Allthefallen also extends beyond vrc and it's a very shady forum for loli/shota fans to share and discuss content. They were also apart of a controversy in the sims modding community for making a mod for you to have sex with children in the game.
Ah I’m familiar with that controversy, it’s definitely very fucked. I don’t want to think of what kind of messed up shit they get up to on VRC. It feels like they’re just trying to get as close as possible to the experience of being sexually involved with kids. I’m honestly quite worried about them being on VRC since it’s a social game and actual kids might become exposed to them now
To put people's minds at rest, it's *not possible* for a random to find someone's address that easily via IP. At most you can roughly determine what town they live in if even that. The only way you can find an addres is if you approach the network provider with a court order

You forgot something inside the Iceberg. A person names Moshiro or DeathCamp or Death many many more names. Alot of 2017/18/19 Player know him and his story. The impact of him can be seen to this day. He was a Reason why the Orginal Laughing coffin broke, his work is seen in every "Modded SDK", his influence was the reason for ripping when he started a group called On Gang which was a parody of the Off Gang group but he Ripped every avatar in VRChat to the time. That User is a Legend and only OG Player how was conncted to the Toxic and Modding Community know him. The problem is that many of the people who were there at the time have disappeared, but there are still the owners of the Nanosdk who was friends with him. Trust me his story is insane.
The original Laughing Coffin were 2 AG members just clowning around in the avatar crashing people before the other group ripped their avatars and started going mayhem and making the name bigger. I always laugh my ass off when people told me they knew the creators of the LC group and they had no clue who those 2 from AG were or even what AG was.
You could theoretically make a real DND world in vrchat. Make a grid, premade pieces to place on said grid. And build up your world like that. Few enemy models, player stay in your square system and a DM easy character swapper screen.
Even without grid, playing along in a good location can be enough. No need for it to be "officially D&D" if it fits. A good thing to have is a ruler on the GM avatar (and players if possible). Spawning dice and other fancy stuff can be done with the SDK and a few prefabs. Either puppet ennemies or ask regular spectators to play NPC avatars, both works. DM with the avatars in their favorite list is always a must, cloning on when players need to swap makes it easy to manage

As long as you don't dive in those parts, just use your common sense and you'll be fine. Even when it comes to exotic clubs, most happens in private instances, public ones are just full of trolls and bored people most of the time. What these video forget to tell is good luck being invited to the dark side. If you're uneasy, you can also block people pushing you that way. There's tools to protect yourself, don't give in peer pressure.

It's insane that so many people now making VR content got into VR because of recent events or news I had always just assumed that everyone knew about VR's progress ~2014+ and chose to ignore it thinking it was a fad. I still can't believe that VR is considered in its infancy when it's been a part of my life for so long.

As someone with extreme phantom sense, yes, smells and heat and even implied texture can be felt. It's wild to me some people need haptic vests when I can feel most everything that touches me. I've gotten better at avoiding general AOE type stuff, but if it's directed specifically at me or it's close to me, it's very present. I've been stabbed and run over and shot in the head, and each time I was put in alot of pain and had to put away the headset and go somewhere to let my brain reset.
I remember the last time I hung out before my hiatus from here was in the 2B AFK, and I think I remember seeing that 2B avatar with green name thinking it's an AI. That connected the missing dots of my memories and debunked me that it is a real person indeed.
Some people create alts for that kind of purposes, like ephemeral art pieces. It's not always a tragic story. There's also game worlds where you get currency every few minutes so it's common to see alts there for days and weeks, only moving when the owner needs something to be brought. It's like having your personal farming NPC... xD

There's more nowdays because some big creator sells their template asset but it's always weird to enter a "reading room" themed world with not a single book around. I don't know if I can help, aside maybe for things like D&D, but meeting other world explorers is always nice. Still kinda weird the iceberg didn't mention "Udon" and barely talks about prefabs in layer 3. This alone is its own rabbit hole: things like arcade machines in worlds are very recent. Also for layer 5, the Aincrad story is not to be mistaken for the current "porject Aincrad" which is a world still in developpment. it's unrelated

It is very disgusting to say the least and I'm still not sure how it's not banned off of the internet because there are genuinely people who defend the community especially in the Sims4 subreddit and says that it's just a "kink/fetish" which liking children or baby animals is not a "kink/fetish" it's a mental disorder and you should be put in prison if you like children or animals that way.

Some do business selling assets, others get scammed or hacked by randoms. In the end, all extrems co-exist, VRc is just what people make of it. Stay safe, use common sense AND the tools to block and report creeps, you should be fine.

I've actually joined the SCP Foundation in vrchat and they're not as secretive as this guy implies while I am pretty sure that you have to have a friend to get in it's just a bunch of friends who like to LARP as SCP MTF members really chill and would highly recommend anybody who wants to join it

Also no we are not like the star wars guys we don't RP we actually have weapons on our models which have special particle layers which triggers the world to respawn you when you are shot (ONLY IN SPECIALIZED WORLDS NOT PUBLIC ONES, also no we are not crashers we despise crashers), the main star wars groups do RP deaths unlike us, the system was originally made by a guy called GoFluffYaself an he host public PVP events nearly every week (We meet up in a world called the Meta Disk Outpost on the weekend if anyone is curious no correlation to meta btw we named the world years ago). Also there is basically a PVP group for basically any thing with a weapons in it eg. Halo, COD, Warhammer 40k/Fantasy, Gears of War, etc... and hundreds of other groups and sub-groups.

There was at least six videos in that world, some were freakish and disturbing which you could easily search it up on RUclips, from what I know it was from a playlist but due to youtube's takedown of the videos, it only stops on the second one. I've just now stumbled across this video, and man I want to ramble about VRchat. Overrall, the concept, and game, is great! I love it a lot. I play on Quest because I do not have a PC yet, only a laptop and other gaming consoles. I have good and bad experiences on VRchat, most my bad experiences being in The Black Cat world. I don't like this world very much because everytime I go there is SO many rude people in there. But on the other hand, a great thing about VRchat is that so far the people are very nice and welcoming. On the 4th of July, I was still new to the game, and a group of friends I was in a world with but hadn't talked to at all invited me to a game, and I made so many new friends because of those people. It helps with my social anxiety and mental issues, just being able to put on a headset and being able to talk and have fun with friends. Every time I log on someone will always give me a good laugh to brighten up my day. Honestly I can't wait for VR to get better, it'll enhance these experiences I've had! So, really, anyone who hasn't played it, it's worth a try.

As soon as im a Bit better at world making, have Like 3 Projects (1 almost finished, 1 in the beginning and one in the planning Phase) and then i get going with planning the Details Out more. Already roughly have a plan and its gonna be so cool when i finally get to it. This will however Take some time...

You forgot something inside the Iceberg. A person names Moshiro or DeathCamp or Death many many more names. Alot of 2017/18/19 Player know him and his story. The impact of him can be seen to this day. He was a Reason why the Orginal Laughing coffin broke, his work is seen in every "Modded SDK", his influence was the reason for ripping when he started a group called On Gang which was a parody of the Off Gang group but he Ripped every avatar in VRChat to the time. That User is a Legend and only OG Player how was conncted to the Toxic and Modding Community know him. The problem is that many of the people who were there at the time have disappeared, but there are still the owners of the Nanosdk who was friends with him.

You could theoretically make a real DND world in vrchat.
Make a grid, premade pieces to place on said grid. And build up your world like that.
Few enemy models, player stay in your square system and a DM easy character swapper screen.
Even without grid, playing along in a good location can be enough. No need for it to be "officially D&D" if it fits. A good thing to have is a ruler on the GM avatar (and players if possible). Spawning dice and other fancy stuff can be done with the SDK and a few prefabs.
Either puppet ennemies or ask regular spectators to play NPC avatars, both works.
DM with the avatars in their favorite list is always a must, cloning on when players need to swap makes it easy to manage

@@r7calvin Depends on the design both players and GM wants to follow. "Rolling the dice" can totally be an animation rather than a physical object staying in the world, which is what you said but with extra visual flare.

On that last one about dead bodies. What could make it even worse is when their bodies bloat, pop, or/and decay. Hearing little pops, small movement, or their controller position shrink with oils spilling them away. Good thing we can't see it!

before layer 4, I wanted to play the game again, but now it sounds alot darker than I thought.
As long as you don't dive in those parts, just use your common sense and you'll be fine. Even when it comes to exotic clubs, most happens in private instances, public ones are just full of trolls and bored people most of the time. What these video forget to tell is good luck being invited to the dark side. If you're uneasy, you can also block people pushing you that way. There's tools to protect yourself, don't give in peer pressure.

I had always just assumed that everyone knew about VR's progress ~2014+ and chose to ignore it thinking it was a fad. I still can't believe that VR is considered in its infancy when it's been a part of my life for so long.

As someone with extreme phantom sense, yes, smells and heat and even implied texture can be felt. It's wild to me some people need haptic vests when I can feel most everything that touches me. I've gotten better at avoiding general AOE type stuff, but if it's directed specifically at me or it's close to me, it's very present. I've been stabbed and run over and shot in the head, and each time I was put in alot of pain and had to put away the headset and go somewhere to let my brain reset.

There's also game worlds where you get currency every few minutes so it's common to see alts there for days and weeks, only moving when the owner needs something to be brought. It's like having your personal farming NPC... xD

@@SonicExpert1991 Maybe I'm just bad at searching, but I only found a few worlds having actual books and not just phamplets of 3-4 pages. There's more nowdays because some big creator sells their template asset but it's always weird to enter a "reading room" themed world with not a single book around.
I don't know if I can help, aside maybe for things like D&D, but meeting other world explorers is always nice.
Still kinda weird the iceberg didn't mention "Udon" and barely talks about prefabs in layer 3. This alone is its own rabbit hole: things like arcade machines in worlds are very recent.
Also for layer 5, the Aincrad story is not to be mistaken for the current "porject Aincrad" which is a world still in developpment. it's unrelated

It is very disgusting to say the least and I'm still not sure how it's not banned off of the internet because there are genuinely people who defend the community especially in the Sims4 subreddit and says that it's just a "kink/fetish" which liking children or baby animals is not a "kink/fetish" it's a mental disorder and you should be put in prison if you like children or animals that way.

That was surreal...If you're in VRchat while a Vket is going on, just go in and have a blast!

Some allow to "puppet" NPCs with the use of buttons, but it's expected of roleplayers in stand-by to play NPC roles. The reason why "in-universe D&D" doesn't look far spread is because it overlaps with roleplaying like you defined for other groups. People can totally theme their roleplay around a D&D campain even if they don't follow a strict dice system or the worlds are not officially replicas od D&D locations.
Some worlds also have an "EX menu" (progrmmed within the world) with temporary props option, so dices can exist while not breaking immerssion.

Honestly, VRchat can't be said to be good or bad, it's not even a game at this point but a developpment platform.
Almost everything is user-made, and even when people import prefabs those were made by other users. Some users stay in the black cat in front of a mirror, convaincing themselves there's not even 10 maps worth going to, others add hundread of maps of interest to their portal world. Some believe VRc is very limited as gameplay goes, others develop entire game modes. Some socialize and drink like crazy, others are mutes or loners. Some do business selling assets, others get scammed or hacked by randoms.
In the end, all extrems co-exist, VRc is just what people make of it.
Stay safe, use common sense AND the tools to block and report creeps, you should be fine.

Also no we are not like the star wars guys we don't RP we actually have weapons on our models which have special particle layers which triggers the world to respawn you when you are shot (ONLY IN SPECIALIZED WORLDS NOT PUBLIC ONES, also no we are not crashers we despise crashers), the main star wars groups do RP deaths unlike us, the system was originally made by a guy called GoFluffYaself an he host public PVP events nearly every week (We meet up in a world called the Meta Disk Outpost on the weekend if anyone is curious no correlation to meta btw we named the world years ago). Also there is basically a PVP group for basically any thing with a weapons in it eg. Halo, COD, Warhammer 40k/Fantasy, Gears of War, etc... and hundreds of other groups and sub-groups.

I've just now stumbled across this video, and man I want to ramble about VRchat.
Overrall, the concept, and game, is great! I love it a lot. I play on Quest because I do not have a PC yet, only a laptop and other gaming consoles. I have good and bad experiences on VRchat, most my bad experiences being in The Black Cat world. I don't like this world very much because everytime I go there is SO many rude people in there.
But on the other hand, a great thing about VRchat is that so far the people are very nice and welcoming. On the 4th of July, I was still new to the game, and a group of friends I was in a world with but hadn't talked to at all invited me to a game, and I made so many new friends because of those people. It helps with my social anxiety and mental issues, just being able to put on a headset and being able to talk and have fun with friends. Every time I log on someone will always give me a good laugh to brighten up my day. Honestly I can't wait for VR to get better, it'll enhance these experiences I've had!
So, really, anyone who hasn't played it, it's worth a try.
