I feel bad for the guy, but when you live next to a cemetery, you have to expect that sooner or later, you're gonna have graves next to your property line. Plant a high-growing hedge or move. It's cemetery land. Not yours. You can't tell them they can't bury bodies on cemetery land any more than you can tell a neighbor not to put in a swimming pool.

The issue is more of how close the graves are to the property lines. Trees were there before (for 30 years) and they were a buffer. Then, they were taken down and graves placed right up on the property line. There should be regulations about setbacks so they are not so close to the property line.

  • @lindat3607

This is so rude. Absolutely disrespectful to that man. I mean sorry to the people who lost a loved one and all, but how could you let this happen? How could you allow a cemetary to bury your loved one so grossly close to some strangers home, where you can literally see into his bedroom while you visit your dead relatives...? I think even I would be upset by this if I went to visit a grave and found it in this location. I would be insulted. Not only does the area look awful and not peaceful or even appropriately cared for, but it also disturbs some random guy. The last thing people want when visiting a grave is to look up and see a man in his bedroom. And he obviously feels the same! The cemetary needs to put up a privacy barrier. You cant just bury dead bodies outside a residential home. What about the possibility of contamination? What If they damaged vital piping to this mans house? I mean has anyone official even overseen this or approved any of it? Seems like the cemetary just started digging and burying and I dont think that's legal cause even as a cemetary there are zoning, digging, and environmental laws. The fact that this was even approved, which is most likely was not, is a huge miscarriage of justice for this resident. No way the families of the dead havent complained. They either dont know their family is buried here or they are selfish scumbags like the cemetary with no resolve for other people and their lives.

Nice word salad from the government. Translation: "We know we effed up and are trying to figure a way to blame someone else."
I worked on some medical equipment at a hospital in Stockton, California.
Right across the street is a graveyard.
So inspiring for patients to see that they don't have far to go if the doctor fails them.

Always a hospital or a church across from a cemetery. Not sure what your point is anyway, it's always going to be something across from them. He didn't have to be in the place of a hospital or church. Plus, he can't even see the bodies, since they're underground...

The City knows what is reasonable and unreasonable. There are rules as to why you can't bury your own loved ones in your backyard while living within City Limits. Why do they exist? Because of Health Hazardous Reasons!!! The laws that prevent a Homeowner within City Limits from burying Humans and Pets apply in this case too. The City can shut the funeral home down and force them to reposition the bodies that are too close. Dead Bodies have to be buried an approximate amount of feet away from residential homes. This isn't hard to deal with, THEY JUST DONT WANT TO RESPECT THAT MAN!!! He is quiet, respect, and Black, so they are going shuffle him around and waste as much time as possible. Because they don't care about that neighborhood anyways. You wouldn't even SEE or HEAR of such foolishness if it was someone else. That man doesn't want trouble he just wants a solution, and they are bullying him with recklessness and neglect.

Tall nice privacy fence is the answer, but a cemetery veiw would not bother me. People in England or buying old chapels to convert to homes, most of these come with cemeteries which cannot be disturbed in any way. It's add valve to property too, because its peaceful.

More people dying .where exactly do outsiders exepect? Its a cemetery. Thats what its for. If you live next to one unfortunately thats just part of the possibilities of living directly next door to it. Its not a "fun" situation i don't doubt for the man and i do feel for him. Possibly plant a good line of tall bushes up on that fenceline may be easiest solution? I know privacy fencing is expensive....but that may also be another option
