This video is a huge relief thanks for showing the before and after speeds. I am thinking about getting this because my current router drops wifi signals frequently and then reconnects. I am not looking for super fast speeds off the mesh network but at least 40 upload and over 100 download. I currently have (unfortunately) cable with 1 gig down and 40 up but the speeds off of their router are terrible and suffer a lot. This is the first dual band velop video I have seen that showed the speeds. Everyone else was trying to point me to the tri-band. I just want a good deal price wise with stability. Thank you so much!
I'm glad the video helped! So far I am enjoying it! U can also try to mix around with the Tri-band and dual band. I might do another video to show now that performs
Warning! Don't buy those things. Unless you want a Wi-Fi you need to restart at least once a day or manually do the channel search several times a day and your Wi-Fi speed is still way under 3G (even if you have fiber connected with 200/200), that is!
This is the best step by step video I've seen on these units. My question is did you have to do anything to your original modem/router combo to ensure that it didnt cancel out your wifi? I just picked up what was advertised as a tri band Velop marked down at Costco to 99 dollars. But it has 2 units much like yours and one taller unit with the holes on all sides.
Question: Can I use either port on the Velop to connect to my Internet Modem? When I connect my modem to the first port the internet stops working. And the ports are not labeled WAN/LAN
Great video! Are you on the Singtel 1gbs plan or 500mbps plan? I have just signed up a 1gbps plan and from what I've read, Linksys recommends the tri-band Velop for speeds higher than 300mbps. As I'm staying in a 5-room HDB, I feel the tri-band set up is overkill and from what I saw from your video, you managed to achieve 421mbps download speed on your dual-band. Just concern that I am not fully utilising the 1gbps by getting the dual-band. What's your view on this?
By the way the android app is for the simplest usage like using one SSID for your whole network. In some case you need to use two different SSID names one for 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ; then you need to use the browser. Here is the instruction: www.linksys.com/us/support-article/?articleNum=247426
Hi. you have two port of ethernet on the Parent node you setup, what's the purpose of 2nd port? can I use this also as IN port for alternative broardband or this will be the source if I will extend this to switch for LAN computer?
Hi bro, Nice Vid👍. I did own the tri band velop(3nodes)afew years back, for my bto... Wifi@bto sucks right😅..haha.. Anyway, Yes,its a good mesh system to use.App is simplified but could be better in some ways..The nodes do, once in while, have signal drops..Powering them down and switch back on, would solve the issue. Have not tried it in bridge mode thou...

Did you disable the wifi signal from the singtel router or u just leave it turn on?

That's a very good video and demonstration.
Nice home setup! thanks for sharing
Very well presented. Keep doing the hard work.

Hey man. If you are in a 5 room, I strongly suggest going for the triband. Or at least a combination of both triband and dualband.
How long before one of your Nodes crashed?

Very Infomative....great presentation.Thank You !!!!
no speedtest in the room?

Just like any wifi router, the additional port is for ethernet connection to another device (laptop, streamer, smart TV, etc)
can i add 1 more node for a larger home?
what speeds do you roughly get from the nodes?
Hi bro, Nice Vid👍. I did own the tri band velop(3nodes)afew years back,

great video, just bought this and made my life way easier lol
do you still have it? Is it still good to you? and can you change the “weak security” with the app?
Does the speed remain same when you are connected to the furthest node ?
It won't be exactly the same but it does give u quite a high speed even at the furthest node. Overall I'm really happy with the setup.
Great vid! Going to the store to buy one...
