- Parmalat bought the club allowing them to compete with the pillars of Italian football. They started the decade with Nevio Scala as coach, he led them to the Italian Cup and some exploits in European football, the Cup Winners’ Cup and the Supercup (1993) and their first UEFA Cup in 1995. His Parma ended Milan’s famous 58 game unbeaten run.

There was much, MUCH more talent and world class players in 90s-2000s compared to the last 10+ years. So many great teams all across europe. It was the golden era of football.

Crespo was so good. Brujita Verón, Baggio, Thuram, Sensini... what a great team Parma had. Let's not forget this was around the same time that Luciano Moggi was fixing matches. So, on the surface it was the "golden age," but underneath it was as corrupt as it has ever been.
