Equivalence Relation in Discrete Mathematics with examples

A relation R on a set A is said to be an equivalence relation if and only if the relation R is reflexive, symmetric and transitive.
Reflexive: A relation is said to be reflexive, if (a, a) ∈ R, for every a ∈ A.
Symmetric: A relation is said to be symmetric, if (a, b) ∈ R, then (b, a) ∈ R.
Transitive: A relation is said to be transitive if (a, b) ∈ R and (b, c) ∈ R, then (a, c) ∈ R

5:25 pr transitive pr (3,2) (1,3) likha hai to is ka transitive (3,3) exist kr to rha hai but sir n kha y transitive ni hai.

R3 is symmetric bcz (1,1) ( 2,2) (3,3) is there only transitive is not there

How to solve this question....show that the relation R is an equivalence relation in the set A={1,2,3,4,5} given by the relation R={(a, b):|a-b is even}find equivalence class and rank of R. find equivalence class.
you don't have mentioned your question properly, your results may complete when {set -A} is (Identity relation). Until you can't able to put the value of b to satisfied the condition (a-b)=even number.

@4:36 , how is this possible (2,1)=x,y but (1,2)=y,z .... please make sure that 2 is x or y. so that's why R³ isn't transative.

agar sara element ka brabar wala pair aa rha h toh reflexive , symmertric & transitive bhi h kyuki, left to right (1, 1)
ke liye right to left (1, 1) bhi hai, and ab aise dekhiye (1, 1) ke liye (1, 1) bhi h , definiton ke according . So , transitive.
Note- R= {(1,1) , (1,1)} likh nhi skte, b/c set unordered and different element bolta h
Aap sare brabar wale pair ko ab 2 pair like (1, 1), (1, 1), (2, 2), (2, 2), (3, 3), (3, 3) leke dekhiye
