The last two Strauss debt collection side missions really reflect John's chance at a new life with his wife and son, as well as Arthur's wasted life and his wife and child he lost before our entry into his story, with the runaway soldier and his pregnant native wife Arthur helped and the miner, ironically named Arthur, who died trying to repay his debts and his widow and son who Arthur forgave the debts for and can choose to give money to.
Despite his constant complaints and teasing of John, Arthur truly sees him as his brother. In the end his final efforts were to make sure John, Abigail, and Jack could get away from their outlaw life.

I think Hosea pretty much knew that the gang was done during chapter 3, he says to Arthur that he has doubts about either family having a fortune of gold, after admitting the shitshow in the Rhodes saloon was almost certainly Mrs.Braithwaite setting them up. His conversation with Lenny earlier in the game about how they both feel the gang has lost it's way is confirmed by the end of chapter 3, leading him to only want to hit the bank and then leave, instead Arthur, Dutch and Lenny walked right into Bronte's trap and signalled to every law enforcement agency that they were still operating in the south. I don't think it'd of made much difference if he survived beyond Chapter 4 tbh, it rather seems like either Dutch or Micah would've ended up killing him regardless, Dutch was not pleased with his and Arthur's loud and legitimate criticisms in regards to getting revenge on Bronte.
It’s really painful to hear Arthur say, “All dem goddamn years.” Makes it even more painful that Arthur’s probably the most loyal member out of Dutch’s gang. I mean, he and Hosea were the first to work with him. And yet Dutch listened to a rat who has only been with them for less than a year.

All those years and he let a fork-tongued traitor turn him against his family. "You and me is all we need" got me because sadie was basically the newest member and she had more loyalty than Dutch ever had.
This cutscene is when Arthur finally realized that Dutch lost himself completely. This isn’t the same Dutch that saved Sadie (who at the time was someone they didn’t even know). The pain in Arthur’s eyes actually tear me up to this day. This game is so beautiful, yet depressing at the same time.
the fact that dutch saved sadie in the beginning then ditched abigail in the end blows my mind like this man hasn’t just lost himself he has lost his humanity
I believe Dutch was always acting in his own gain, deep inside. He only helped and did things when it was ultimately convenient to him. That's why I hate him so much, he was a master manipulator of all of them for the longest time... it only took for things to start falling apart for Dutch to be unable to hide his true colors. Micah just happened to take advantage of that. That's why even though Micah is an idiot and a scumbag to me the ultimate villain here is Dutch.

This cutscene is when Arthur finally realized that Dutch lost himself completely. This isn’t the same Dutch that saved Sadie (who at the time was someone they didn’t even know). The pain in Arthur’s eyes actually tear me up to this day. This game is so beautiful, yet depressing at the same time.
the fact that dutch saved sadie in the beginning then ditched abigail in the end blows my mind
like this man hasn’t just lost himself he has lost his humanity
So beautiful and yet depressing at the same time. Just like real life. ~
Which mission is this? I completely missed it or forgot it
@@midget420its not missable its the last mission for arthur the one he dies in so yeah chapter 6 last mission named "Red Dead Redemption"
Javier's voice actor wanted to side with John and Arthur
Damn you, Script! 🤯
@@Angrymonkey2489 it's because of rdr1, that's why he can't side with Arthur and John.
Sadie was such a good character, not a Mary sue or a damsel in distress
Hosea was like his therapist and also kept Micah out of his ear
The pain in his voice when he screams "Dutch" still hits hard today. Just as much as my lumbago
Edit: thx for the almost 4 k likes... Look mom im famous.
Lmao lumbago it's a slow death but honestly this is the best entertainment I've had in years apart from red dead 1 this story is so captivating in every way
The hell is lumbago?
@@zed4038 Uncle will tell you
Lumbago sure is a fate worse than death brother
This is funny
This game needs be be played or watched by all men in this world. Boys need this story. Boys need these characters to help teach them. Schools don't anymore. Parents have lost their ways. I never realized how giant of an impact this game really has on people.
So real
The pleading look in Arthurs eyes 😢
In the beginning Sadie was terrified and to the end she never betrayed the gang and always stuck by there side
this game always made me feel such a strong sense of family and warmth with the good characters. It felt like connecting with real people rather than lines of code. Sadie, Uncle, John, Charles, Abigail, all of them felt so real, literally family
Don’t forget Lenny and Hosea
One of the best voice acting I have ever seen.
Hell yeah every one of them had emotion in their voices
I want to thank Rockstar so much for everything. It took 3 weeks to finish this great game with the best story ever. Arthur Morgan is such a character who is impossible to forget. I have a hard time holding back my tears while watching this and the last scenes like this over and over again.
Arthur died a hero, Dutch lived long enough to become a villian 💔
I never cried as much as I did playing this fucking masterpiece
Sadie was a real one, easily one of my favorites
When Micah said every man here knows it arthur interrupted because one person of the gang actually have an real heart of gold
The amount of emotion when he says “Dutch” the second time is incredible so much put into one word Roger Clark is such a talented man
this game is un fathomably a masterpiece words cannot fucking explain
Roger Clark will forever be my favourite voice actor. Absolutely outstanding performance.
Dutch tried to choose. But if Micah didn't said those words.... Dutch wanted to help Abigail but Micah did that shit
UPD: Thank you guys for 1000 likes. That's my record
dutch is not a kid he made the decision and everyone follows him
Dutch is a grownass man and a loser in this scene. Don’t pin his actions on Micah. It’s not hard to say “no,” hell he told Arthur no a hundred times
@@eddiesandhu3618 You’re right he’s not a kid, he’s crazy thanks to Micah
@@holdmybeefstew7131 Dutch while not being as evil as Micah Dutch him self is still a crazy man who killed for fun and betrayes his own people like John and Arthur for personal gain he was being manipulated but he was still a villain
@Juggled I’m not wrong
You can tell Arthur still trusted Dutch deep down. Until the end of
I love how Sadie always, ALWAYS stood up for Arthur and John.
you and me is all we need

All right carlos, lets go get her
Mr. Gabriel… ride with me! HEEYAW!
The pain in Arthur's voice 💔
sadie is the real homie during Arthurs journey to face the west.
The sadness in Arthurs voice when hes asking Dutch to help
“I still got the choice” shit hits harder and harder every time I play
"You and me is all we need" the feels !
Sadie wasn't raised on a life of crime, yet still turned out to be more self aware than dutch 🤣
The pain in the voice of arthur make me cry 😭
“Fuck that!”
Arthur Morgan, 1899
“Well that’s it then, all them years”
Arthur knew right there and then that it was over
Second time arthur said dutch hurts
And he was about to beg him
This is like the 3 ghost
Hosea the ghost of the past
Arthur the ghost of the present
John the ghost of the future
All 3 trying to convince Dutch to become a better man but unfortunately failed
You can clearly see the pain that Arthur felt on that time, his eyes say it all, Dutch from being his mentor to a traitor, feels sad men. So sad...
I like what Sadie said: You and I it's all we need
for me the arthur screaming "dutch!" is the most painful thing and heartbreaking
sadie and arthur is for sure the best duo in rdr
Wanted too see more of Sadie in the missions, her character was so good
No I disagree

Sadie a real one 💯
If Dutch chapter 1 saw dutch chapter 6 saying this he would beat the plan outta his head
Ikr it’s so sad. All the money had gotten into Dutch’s head 😔
@@sofiafaraz33there is a theory that he got two brain injuries at the trolley in saint denis and on the boat to guarma, but that's just a theory A GAME THEORY
@@thehunter_3414It makes sense.
Traumatic brain injuries to the frontal lobe can change someones personality.
Dutch had constant headaches throught the Guarma chapter.
Doesnt make him any less of a snake, but it makes the sudden personality change make sense.
The pain in Arthur’s face when he says “dutch”
The pain in Arthur's voice
People say "it's just a game" but this masterpiece got me through the roughest time of my life
"You and me is all we need" Thi is the best line in the game
Dutch always had this character trait
But thing is there was Hosea to keep him in check but now he's out of the picture Micah's influence amplified this personality buried deep inside him
I didn't even think of that but that's so true.
That's the principal fact, Hosea's death tipped Dutch on the wrong side and upset the balance he was bringing
He seemed to switch when the tram crashed in Saint Denis. I noticed an almost immediate change when that happened. There is a theory that Dutch had a brain injury in the crash because he wasn't feeling good in that mission and was complaining about his head
“Well I guess that’s that then.” Literally hurts every time
Sadie needs her own game
Fr
iirc Sadie's voice actor said that she'd like to see the next Red Dead title with Sadie as the protagonist.
Sadie was the only loyal one. If only they were all like her 😢
The point where Arthur finds out that his whole life was getting betrayed by the person he trusted the most.
It's still the best story I've ever played.
the way Arthur says "Dutch!" really shows how mentally destroyed he was seeing the gang's loyalty disappearing in front of him, best videogame acting
That hurt in his voice when he says all those God damn years 💔
the heart break in arthurs voice
🤧🤧
The greatest Story, Gameplay of all time 🔥🔥🔥
“All them god damn years”😔
The heartbreak in Author's voice when he said Dutch the second time , I felt that when I watched that scene. Hell I'm man enough to say I teared up and was motivated to save Abigail. God I love this Game
Arthur is the best Story Protagonist I've seen in quite a damn while. And RDR2 is just the master piece he fits into.
If Hosea alive he will be with Arthur
I wish I didn't remember this now I am sad 😞
It was micah saying "i want to live i still got a choice" that hit me. Arthur doesnt have a choice with his TB
"all them goddamn years"
You can feel the sadness in him and the betrayal, this is when he knew it is over
