Usually when people tell these stories they have told them to many different people many different times so you tend to make a "script" in your mind that you follow.
Master Chef Not word for word. Too many details creates inflections in the use of certain words but exactly the same senntences come internally due to not needing to remember anything specific. Unless the storyteller changes drastically, their story will be told the same.
This was added to Greg Kinnear's wikipedia page when I searched for this story. "Kinnear hosted a short-lived game show, College Mad House, which was spun off from the kids' show Fun House. He became the creator, co-executive producer and host of Best of the Worst, which aired from 1990 to 1991. The show was canceled thanks to Rooster Teeth's Burnie Burns." Whomever added that last part to the paragraph, you are why the RT Community is awesome.
First, it's even crazier how it's exactly 200 podcasts apart. Second, if Gus was there the 2nd time I guarentee he would've called him out for telling the story again.
Gavin: "You can really affect the world with the dumbest stuff" *cough* Tower of Pimps *cough* Team Nice Dynamite *cough* Team Lads and Gents *cough* XRAY N VAV All great ideas and major icons that started as stupid exclamations coming out of Gavin's mouth
It's moments like this that you realise RT couldn't have been so amazing without Burnie. His personality is baked into the core of what makes Rooster Teeth Rooster Teeth. Now, three years later, I'm sad to see him leave. I hope he looks back fondly on times like this.
The RT Podcast is just nothing without Gavin, Burnie, Gus, and Barbara. I’ll admit, I’m a bit biased since I essentially grew up with these people, and I don’t care about anyone who’s on the podcast now. I will miss them, though.
ThyArtIsEli what makes me laugh so hard is how synchronized it was in tone and speed of saying it. That's how you know he's told the story many times hahaha
The only difference was which hand he used to make the "sweeping" gesture. Burnie is a great story teller, I wonder if it's because of all the writing he has done or just the 8 years of podcasting he has done (if not more)
They had filmed 200 podcasts in between them both. Also to be fair to Gavin he did state in the later one that he wasn't sure if the story had been told on a podcast or not.
This is hilarious, I love the exact way in which he says they cancelled the show and Gavin's reaction being pretty much the same is pretty great. Nice job
Rarely do I comment on videos but man this was professional quality editing. Seriously impressive. Everything flows smoothly, even clippings certain scenes together added great humor. Color me impressed
Was this an intentional joke? If not, it makes it all the more funny but hoooly shit, I was laughing so hard this entire video. The part where Burnie says "They fucking cancelled the show." got me so hard because he used the same hand movement as before. Great edit!
As someone who listened to about the first 200 podcast on repeat on my ipod I remember almost every story they tell and if they ask if they ask have I told this story I immediately can tell.
This is the most fucking weirdest thing i have ever seen and one of the most awesome thing, how Burnie tell the story 4 years later with the same crew sort of, almost the same way he told it the first time
That Burnie said "they fucking cancelled the show" the exact same way 4 years apart is amazing.
that's some Marco Rubio-level repetition right there
I find it happens to me when I tell a story a lot. I get to know the perfect wording for the main beats of the story.
garf117 200 episodes apart too
Gavin having the exact same reaction was great as well.
garf117 the truth lasts forever lol
"THEY FUCKING CANCELLED THE SHOW"
Same words, same inflection. nice
Complete with hand gesture
Wow. I wonder if Burnie knows he delivered that line the exact same way 4 years apart... To the point where you can sync them up. That is impressive.
Usually when people tell these stories they have told them to many different people many different times so you tend to make a "script" in your mind that you follow.
It's weird that gavin said each time how the dumbest decisions can effect the world in a big way
RonnieSucks I freaked out when that happened, that was awesome
barbara talks about domino effect and butterfly effect in each, and that's pretty similar in this context as well
Pure irony!Gavins+stupid decisions=Everything
That's because it's his life
thats evidence that we are all in a simulation
Gavin's reaction was exactly the same as well...
This really shows that personality plays a pretty big part in conversations....
I feel like you said almost the same thing four years ago..
Muffin Muncher That'd be... interesting. I only started watching Rooster Teeth in 2013 :p
More that he has the same brain to come to the same conclusion
+Raymond “Dnomyar96” Benjamins lol I was just trolling
Raymond Benjamins They had to reuse an old script for the podcast.
Must be a true story if you can tell it exactly the same so far apart.
There actually were some inconsistencies but I cut them out to be nice to burnie!
Thomas Peterson like he daid trip to hollywood first and then seattle second?
What the prize was, what they were watching when Greg Kinnear came up again, how long it had been at that point
Lark88 no that means it's fake, it's easier to remember a lie
Master Chef Not word for word. Too many details creates inflections in the use of certain words but exactly the same senntences come internally due to not needing to remember anything specific. Unless the storyteller changes drastically, their story will be told the same.
I like how gavin said the exact same thing in response
Wow, Gus got really ripped. And blonde.
Yes
and white
@@elchico6220 racist
@@nicholasnixon1311 that's not racist lmao

still up, and the source they cite for the claim is this video. well meme'd
Not up anymore :(
Wait... he told the same story... exactly 200 podcasts apart?
451asians yes
Illuminati confirmed
451asians he lied
You've never heard the podcast have you
Holy shit that's me who commented 2 years ago. I don't remember watching this video🤔guess I did
Well edited. nice job dude
Thanks!
Giancarlo fucking Gavin
You never really notice it when just watching it week to week, but got damn did the quality improve
Seriously. It looks so professional now.
That's a perfect example of the Boiling frog theory.
Brandon Dailey it's a better example of getting a better camera Theory
Brandon Dailey that's not a theory just bullshit experiment
Lord-Commander Savage not necessarily. That plus better lighting.
I really hope they see this video
They did, they talk about it on 393 and the 393 post show
The CVR123 No timestAmp?
A

can't wait to hear this again in 2020
here we are
can't bc Burnie's not on the pod ):
😬
@@peterandben i have cursed this year with my sarcastic comment
Nope. Burnie's officially out of RT.
exactly 200 episodes apart as well. insane
William Chapman Whoa that's weird
Corgi It's not weird at all. You are imparting the weirdness onto an arbitrary number.
Weird
I like how in the beginning gavin remembered Burnie telling the story, but couldn't remember if it was on the podcast or not.
The coolest part about this is Gavin's reaction is still the same as it was 4 years ago
Santiago Perez-Shillington 4:17 haha have I got a ringer for you
They fucking cancelled the show
They fucking cancelled the show
Brilliant!
Wait, what?
4:17
This video was mentioned on the Podcast tonight. Just so you know.
#393
At What time do they talk about this?
#393 1:33:34
One thing is certain, Burnie keeps his stories straight and doesn't change them the way his mind remembers them as
Burnie and Gavin very consistent even 4 years later
Funny to see Gavin reacting almost the exact same way.
That's scary man, how hearing the exact same story still triggers the same response 4 years later. You don't have a lot of control over your thoughts
Funny to see the way that Burnie’s dictation is pretty much the exact same four years apart at 4:17
"They fucking cancelled the show!" in stereo
Exactly 200 episodes apart too.
The best part is that Gavin's words are almost exactly the same response at both points in time.
Feyesh I’d like to also call attention to 4:17
Gavin: "You can really affect the world with the dumbest stuff"
*cough* Tower of Pimps
*cough* Team Nice Dynamite
*cough* Team Lads and Gents
*cough* XRAY N VAV
All great ideas and major icons that started as stupid exclamations coming out of Gavin's mouth
Lt. Mogar I read this AS GAVIN SAID IT 😂
This would go great with the SpongeBob gesturing to different things meme
when I heard the 2016 version I got so happy to hear it again
not in this video but when it came out
Did Gus just make a cow pun, and Barb didn't think of it first?!
Gus was the original pun master.
He was the punisher.
Gavin reacting the same way both times was just amazing.
"They fuckin cancelled the show."
It's moments like this that you realise RT couldn't have been so amazing without Burnie. His personality is baked into the core of what makes Rooster Teeth Rooster Teeth. Now, three years later, I'm sad to see him leave. I hope he looks back fondly on times like this.

How did not just Burnie, but EVERYONE completely forget about that story? I mean, I remember listening to it 4 years ago!
5:16 Gavin switches from the present to an 80's show. His age, his hair, the mic quality, everything.
they fucking cancelled the show
ThyArtIsEli what makes me laugh so hard is how synchronized it was in tone and speed of saying it. That's how you know he's told the story many times hahaha

This is so good. Nice edits to emphasize the storytelling. You can see Burnie is a good storyteller if he can deliver years apart.
I find it so interesting how almost everything is the exact same in both time periods
"They fucking cancelled the show." Great editing there.
He improved his delivery of the punchline. His second telling was funnier.
I think it's even more interesting that Gavin said almost the same thing afterwards as well.
Man I love Burnie so much
Why would you remember that story after 4 years of watching their content? Bravo
Still undoubtedly one of the best podcast stories I have ever heard. Burnie did a great job telling it too.
This should be animated
How did gavin and barbara forget that he told this story
rickybandit2 it was four years apart, I don't really think they are going to remember a story about cow counting.
They had filmed 200 podcasts in between them both. Also to be fair to Gavin he did state in the later one that he wasn't sure if the story had been told on a podcast or not.
rickybandit2 maybe they just wanted him to tell it again haha
Same way that Bernie did
stop
Damn, the show used to be so yellow! I guess we just didn't notice back then because we didn't have anything to compare it to.
This is hilarious, I love the exact way in which he says they cancelled the show and Gavin's reaction being pretty much the same is pretty great. Nice job
I love how at 4:13 spit flies out of Burnies mouth and is very clear on the pop filter for the rest of the video
4:17-4:20 just shows how much Burnie didnt change over the last 4 years
Rarely do I comment on videos but man this was professional quality editing. Seriously impressive. Everything flows smoothly, even clippings certain scenes together added great humor. Color me impressed
Thank you!
What if gus's pun about accowntants started barbara's pun career...thats some serious butterfly effect
4:17 Burnie literally said the same exact thing lmao
Your channel couldn’t have a more specific niche and I love it
Man I'm gonna miss Bernie in RT. Thanks for all the laughs
I really want this to be an RTAA, especially for the "Acowntants" pun at the end.
this is beautiful...
3 cheers for consistency lol
Burnie has had such an awesome life. I wish I had stories like that to tell...
Monty would be annoyed, haha.

I listened to it six years ago. I listened to it two years ago. And I’ll happily listen to it now :)
Burnie is mentioned on the wiki. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Best_of_the_Worst

This amazing! We need to share this with the world!
It was just removed yesterday
2012 Gus does not look amused. 😂 Fuckin love that guy Gus.
5:19 I know right. Just look at Red vs. Blue. Started off as something fun then it turned to an entertainment company with its own convention.
I like not only is it (roughly) 4 years apart, but EXACTLY 200 episodes apart
This is an awesome edit, thanks
Gavin's personality is so consistent. I usually don't believe in the continuous sense of self, but this makes me question that!
This is incredible...thank you for this good sir!
Was this an intentional joke? If not, it makes it all the more funny but hoooly shit, I was laughing so hard this entire video. The part where Burnie says "They fucking cancelled the show." got me so hard because he used the same hand movement as before. Great edit!
I'm cool I remember watching the podcast live and thinking "wtf am I hearing an old podcast"
Very well put together video ;)
Mental how well the stories cut together. Gg dude this is great
this edit has made my week :D nice cut there to the "fucking cancelled the show" line aswell :'D too funny man. too funny...
I don't even watch/listen to the RT Podcast, but this is awesome. Great job editing it.

"they fucking cancelled the show"
"they fucking cancelled the show"
it's amazing how burnie tells the axact same story four years apart
if they just re-tell all the stories, we'll have new podcasts forever :3
While I suspect some good editing went into this bit, it's a fun video. Thanks for sharing, dear Mr. Peterson.
The most hilarious part is that Gavin had the exact same reaction both times
really well put together dude

we're all going to miss Burnie.
it's a conspiracy man they knew what they were doing
This makes me feel old because I remember them switching to video format and I can't believe that was 5 years ago
Omfg, its so perfect! Even Gavins response about dumb things changing everything XD
This happens when you get old.
5:23
C'mon, Barb should have said "That's the Dumbino effect"
I remember this story i was listing to it on the way home from college in 2012
This is the coolest thing. Awesome job dude!!
