Mount Rainier National Park

Mount Rainier National Park is named after the highest mountain in the Cascade Range and is about halfway between Seattle and Portland, Oregon. Mount Rainier is the most ice-packed peak in the lower 48 and one of the most dangerous to climb. Jack and Colton plan to tackle it with former Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell - someone with a lot of experience climbing this mountain!

Grew up knowing the Whitakers in late 60s from their Ski Hut in Lakewood.My niece just quit her job at Whitaker Mountaineering in Ashford to get married. First time luck in 1970 making to the top with 2 failures to follow. I look at her everyday when it's clear living 25 miles from the Longmire entrance.
