Judging by these clips, the budget is a lot higher this time with the success of the second season. The costumes are more extravagant, playing more into the old and new money aesthetics. The Bridgertons with their calmer tones and simple yet elegant clothes are old money. The Fetheringtons with their overly bright colors, extremely multicolored floral designs, and large jewelry. Cressida and her mother are dressed the same showing they're also new money but also desperate. If you compare their clothing over the seasons, the Cowper's clothing becomes more and more extravagant.

I agree…..It’s sad everyone goes with the trends of sheer dresses….I miss the imagination and creativity of the past……the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and the Gabor sisters…….anyone remember the costuming for Gigi? It was just beautiful. Designers need to study the past designs….ever hear of the rainbow dress ? It was very pale colors and said to be breath taking…..(early 1900’s)

No, one of Penelope's sisters married Nigel. Cressida married an old guy who pretended to have money. He died shortly after and she was essentially a poor widow.
