We have used the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!

I have the Forney Easy weld 140MP, it works great with gassless once you get it dialed in correct. Once your weld puddle is started its easy welding from there.
As you said, it good for $229. Looks like it does switch the weld current with the wire feed. I had a cheap welder that had constant weld current at the wire and you only switch the wire feed. That was horrible for tack welding.
@@MrStuffdude hes referring to not removing the tip before running the wire through...I assume. It went through so I guess it wasn't the big deal he makes it out to be.
Always take the tip off the gun when you feed your wire. It can get jammed up in there sometimes if you don't and it's miserable when it does, believe me.
I got the same welder a couple of years ago got it to see if/ how to weld again from a wheelchair I've since got a true mig setup now so I gave it to a friend and he uses it a lot
That’s a nice welder you got there. I have one just like it and it has been great so far. I have made hundreds of practice welds with scrap materials 1/16 inch to 5/32 inch until I developed a pulse for it. To my knowledge, you can make structural welds with flux-cored wire. Keep on welding my friend, practice makes perfect! Good video and thank you for sharing.
Ran properly flux core wire is perfectly suitable for welding structural joints also there is no actual limit to the size of the parts you can weld you have to stack stringer beads also the problem with cheap machines is duty cycle if you only have 15% duty cycle you can only weld 15 minutes out of 100. So welding thicker pieces of steel takes time and becomes impractical with these machines but if it is all you have it can be successfully done.
I have this crappy welder. The wire feed motor is a 24v motor, but the highest volts the machine gives out is 10volts. I installed an adjustable 24v power supply, just for the wire feeder. Now it cranks out the wire at a proper speed to get some good welds.
Forney parts and all consumables can be bought a any Ace hardware store in the states. For me it was a no brainer. Lots of cleaning and prep work to get good welds. Thanks for sharing.
You have to clean the surfaces before welding, drag with gasless flux, and wire feed controls more of your voltage than anything. I have the exact same machine and I've been using it for 2 years. I produce welds that look just as good as mig now, took a couple weeks but you'll get used to it. Oh, and .035 works better for me. I kept popping breakers on .030 for some reason.
I have this welder as well as a harbor freight titanium 125. I can’t seem to get the Forney to run as smooth as the titanium I was expecting it to be a little better.
You might have had better results if you sanded the mill rolling scale off the area you welded. As you had a low power machine, the flux was working hard to clear the scale rather than just seeing to the weld metal.

A plated tube is never gonna be easy and maybe if you took the mill scale off as well. Anyway you gave it a go with the new machine and it did the job 👍. I've tried before with flux cored not keen, stick welder may have been better. Good job anyway 👍
Since the galvanized tubing is less than half the thickness of the strap you have to angle your direction of your wire more toward the thicker piece to stop the hole burning. Just remember when your eyes get bad enough, don't let it ruin your welding just get the right lenses and do a good job. I'm preaching to myself. That's good though
So the welders plug is for a 20 amp outlet. The adapter is a standard 15 amp plug to a 20 amp outlet. And flux core welding is definitely way different than using gas shield wire.
Looks exactly like the Harbor Freight (Titanium 110 inverter mig welder) i had the Titanium 110 mig welder for a couple years and it was a awesome little mig . Extremely handy, lightweight. I'd guess around 15lbs . I ran flux core wire through it so I didn't have to carry a tank. Although it did come with the gage and line set-up . So it had the ability to use gas/argon . But I personally would just rather run flux core . Made it a great grab and go , steel glue gun that you could plug into any standard 120v outlet anywhere. It would run just fine from a 15amp breaker and off a 20amp circuit you could run 75 feet of extension cord.
Forney is a good welder. I have had my 140 for 9 or 10 years now. Not the same as mine is gas or flux core. I have welded 1/2 inch with it using flux core. I have not yet tried it with gas but just got a tank 2 days ago and will be soon.
When threading your wire through pull up your nozzle on the end and your cone, it will feed through there better and it won’t hit the nozzle and cut back your wire
Deltaweld is better than millermatic. I wish the little one was smaller and it's really expensive for a welder , I'm looking to spend about $60. Interesting though, something to think about.
