This is exactly what I saw in the sky seven years ago at 3 AM when I randomly looked up and saw five lights go from one side of the sky to the other. Most fascinating thing I’ve ever seen.

I've seen the 3 light about 2008, in CT. It was just silently hovering, and I could see the silhouette(triangle). So either it was close to the ground and made no noise or it was massive and high up. I've seen the 3 light about 2008, in CT. It was just silently hovering, and I could see the silhouette(triangle). So either it was close to the ground and made no noise or it was massive and high up. My friend and I turned off the car engine and stepped out to watch it for a minute before it took off north and banked east towards the ocean.
It went over the horizon from a cold stop in three seconds. The G force would've killed anyone.
I don't know WTF it was but wish I saw it again. It was in Groton CT which has a submarine base and important companies.

Definitely wish I had a modern day phone. Just imagine the three star one, and it taking off slower but instantly just going full speed.
I've never seen a jet going supersonic but it took off full speed instantly away, before finally making the right angled turn without speed loss and going over the horizon. It would've flown from Groton CT to RI on that path. It didn't seem to bank either and there was no extra light when it took off.
My friend says there was a fourth light in the middle. I kind of saw it, but it was more like light reflecting off a red/black marble and faint. TBH the fourth light could be a fake memory because he insists.
The silhouette was darker than the sky (black against the midnight blue since it was a bright night.)
Oh yeah there was no sonic boom.
If my friend wasn't with me I would never bring it up, but it was cool to see.

I would be like it's just a plane flying towards us haha. Anyway he found pictures of it and it is real common. I don't know if there are stories of it shooting off like a bat out of hell, and mine wasn't V shaped as far as I can tell.
