You can tell this guy takes pride in his work. As he should because the attention to detail was on point. He even matched the plugs using their grain to each hole replacing what he drilled out. Pretty much invisible
I really enjoy your videos & attention to details. I'm a novice woodworker and strive for perfection. I believe it's the tiny details that really give a project the WOW factor. Thank you!!
What I did with mine : made metal plate for underneath the stairs that I screwed from above to the center part and then screwed from underneath the metal plate to the stairs, also glued the stair to the metal plate. But its only if you don't want to make hole on top (also it added a little stability). (Sorry if it's not clear english is not my first language😅)
Question for you we have knotty alder interior doors that are unfinished we need to seal them with something but do not want to change the color or make them shiny what do you recommend ?
That’s a normal plug cutter. It won’t cut a tapper as it won’t release the plug once it’s drilled.. “ think about it. How can you join into something creating a taper and an expected drillbit to be released without pulling the plug out at the same time”
How do you stain wood after using wood glue? Ive tries to be so careful, ive reied sanding it down and no matter what ive tried the stain wont adhere where ive gotten wood flue on there. Even where a little was on my finger rips and it got on the wood. Am i doing something wrong? Or is there no solution?
try cleaning it if it’s hardened and sand more. if that doesn’t work, you could try gel stain. not as good but it works if you goofed up. in the future make sure you use a wood glue that stains. a lot of the common ones don’t.
I realized that something isn’t right. Something is missing from the Blacktail studio RUclips shorts. It’s you, belittling the people that leave troll comments. I’d never say anything negative about your work but you can belittle me first if you want. I’m willing to take it for the greater good of the channel.

Make holes? Fill holes! Think about it?
Do the stickers on the screws help with their strength?
Think about it, a sticker 😂
@@clarencewiles963 yeah I know they are hard to peel off so really strong. Do they sell screw stickers to make them stronger?
You'll need them in case of a warranty claim

It doesn't matter - the screw threads just tear through it when being used.
It's just paper with a UPC on it. 👍👍
I really appreciate the kind of wood work he does as instead of throwing cracked wood he fills it with epoxy and makes it look fabulous
I enjoyed watching this build !!! Staircase came out sweet !!!
Being so dead ass I’d never see that especially if I was just to walk up or down the steps good job and keep up the amazing beautiful work

Great job
Beautiful.
I wish i was 1/2 this knowledgable about woodworking.
Nice work
Why not flip the direction, pre countersink the spine and screw from under. Then plug and paint so they are invisible.
I'm an engineer- you're good.

The level of detail. I can't even...

Oh, I believe you on the epoxy
Nice.
Watching you run the video against the grain with high anxiety...
Man you know I love that staircase but it seems like a potential hazard. Maybe just check on it every couple months to make sure it's stable
What brand chisle do you use?
Seems like a bracket would’ve been a better mounting solution
Nice
Why you didn't put the halls in the other wood structure ? I mean you should use the black structure for halls.

Hmm, nice.

What if you need to take it apart one day ? Ive been renovating lately and stuff that isn’t designed to ever be maintained or removed drives me nuts
The plugs are visible still, just drill them out.
@samnichols4361 🎯
Then remove the screw - disassembled!

Ok cool. Now if you ever need to remove the stairs your plan is?
To simply drill out the plugs & back out the screws. 👍
Plug cutter Vs. Hole saw?
I have a question, if it's just for aesthetics.... Why don't you just make the plugs shorter so that you don't have to chisel off anything

And that’s why NF has the most real music
so you can't disassemble them easily now. You have to drill the plug to reach the screw head
I’m new to this, do you move your staircases frequently?
Anyone else with trypophobia here?😅
Chisel along the wood grain ... not across the grain .
