In all honesty this game is extremely nice though its understandable if people dont wanna give it a try due to the "gacha" aspect. I just hope alot of you all give it a try before extremely giving false information and running many away from the game before global release
I mentioned in a server that I disliked how P5X got a lot of unwarranted hate from people who don't know a thing about it, and I got the usual "oh, I can't even play it" or "it's not in english" (which still doesn't rlly excuse unwarranted hate, but pop off queen) but there was this one guy who went on a rant saying how "the game goes against the themes of Persona 5" and "it ruined Persona 5 for me" like it is NOT and WILL NEVER BE that serious 😭😭
I started this game one week after the Taiwanes and Korrean realease (because I didn't know how to bypass the region lock softlock that occur in the first fight). I am a F2p player and I am still really active in this game. I have bascally a mixed opinion about the game : - Okay it is a gatcha, as a gatcha there is the daily quest all the thing you have to farm... That's relative to the gatcha mechanic so I can understand that people don't want to play these kind of games. But as a gatcha, it doesn't feels like the worst : the odds for summonings are honnest and it is not that dumb to have one money to by all the summoning items. May be there is too much equipement and things to think about but that is because i did not play too much of gatcha's (i played at FireEmblem heores, and Octopath Travelers Cotc but i have some feedback from my sister about genshin and honkai star rails) - Now at the time i started the games, there were some technical issue that I didn't see much now, but i that time i found the charging time kinda slow but it might be my pc XD But at that time, i constantly compared the game to Persona 5 royal that i finished nearly 6 month before, and I felt like it wasn't as dynamic and pleasant as P5R. - There was a big problem that really traumatize me at that time : during the 2nd dungeon i couldn't do anything in the real world, so i was forced to speed run the dungeon and to lvl up my team on 40 lvls really quyicly (and the fact that there is two lvl to upgrade for the skills at lvl 60 doesn't help) that was the biggest issue for me - About the story, i didn't translate the game because the start of the game looked too much like the original Persona 5 to really get me to see the text, until the third dungeon where i found the idea for the lore really intersting and began to translate nearly all the text. (No spoil here in just in case) - I really like some of the new characters (Melope and tanemura Riko are my fav at this point) it is kinda sad that we havn't see some of them in the real world, it kinda kills the concept of the Kaidols i think ^^' Now the game keep adding good features and improving it so i guess it was just a slow start.
Persona themed mobile game has been one of my dreams actually. You know, with every persona/megami tensei characters blended into one game, and even making some unplayable NPCs playable? Count me in. With that said, Sega doesn't have the best track record in running mobile games despite they are investing heavily in it. I clearly remember how Sakura Wars mobile cost dearly for Sega. And for P5X, Sega also has its hands in it so I wish they listen more to their Chinese partner and most importantly, the players. To be honest, if this isn't about Persona I probably won't touch Sega mobile games. But now that I am in it, I'd say it has potential. For a gacha game, I think they can shut all criticism but just making the game top quality. After all, quality is only thing players want really. As for myself, I want a really interesting main story, preferably updated more frequently.
As a day 1 F2P player that doesn't farm every bit of gacha currency and doesn't spent it in optimal ways, I still managed to get every character currently available on the Taiwan server The game is very fun, it is a very good mix of Persona 5 and Honkai Star Rail (the 2nd biggest inspirations for P5X's mechanics) that never got me bored, even in it's filler updates The gacha is probably one of the more generous ones out there, doesn't need to invest a lot of time/money to get good characters and build a team to tackle on all of the content the game gives you I'm waiting for global to fully immerse myself in the story, but so far it's still has been great, even when playing in a language I don't know about Obviously if people don't wanna play it because they don't like gachas, or they don't like P5, it's a valid reason, but it should NEVER become a reason to spread hate and/or misinformation All you're doing is trying to poison a sub-community that just want to play the game in peace It's okay to simply just say "i don't care about this game" (or not even say anything at all) and go play something else entirely
My opinions on this game have changed so drastically. I first heard it and went “C’mon Atlus, can we get a *new* game?” Thought about and realised it’s probably just a B team working on the game (it’s actually a different developer). Then I heard it’s a gacha and went “ugh that’s not good”. Then I played Reverse: 1999 and realised gachas can be quite fun and aren’t inherently bad. Then I played the game and now I think that whilst it would’ve been better without gacha (just earning the characters another way), the gacha does mean the game can be free and the rates for characters are so high that after playing for 1 week, I already have half of the characters with no spending or even grinding. And whilst the gameplay is a less refined version of SMT/Persona, it’s still SMT/Persona so it’s pretty good. And the designs and theme of the Personas are easily my favourite in the series. So I’d say either download the translation and play it now, and/or wait for global to release and give it a shot yourself. It’s fine if you don’t like it, but I think it deserves a fair shot before one passes judgement.
Haha, that’s me at the top of the thread posting screenshots and wondering how many people here have actually played the game. Been playing since Day 1 of the KR version. I’m okay with people having a negative opinion on it and I can understand not liking the gacha aspects but its kind of sad how many people immediately write it off without even trying it or at least look up the gameplay yourself. There’s just so much said about this game that is completely untrue from being P2W (nope and its very possible as a FTP to obtain most if not all characters) to being a knockoff (its literally has multiple staff members from the Persona studio assisting with development) to saying its mainly featuring OG P5 characters because all they see is crossfate stuff. Hopefully when it comes to global and more than just a tiny niche of overseas audience is playing it people see that its more than what the hate train says.
If they ever release a PC or console port I'll play it but other wise I won't. I'm a 90s kid and I grew up with consoles and pc games. I just can't enjoy games with touch screen controls.
@@JonathanFrame-qy6sw it is a pc game primarily, phone is a addition. They already have a pc client and are planning to release it on steam as well as console
I think cultural differences are 1 of the reasons of the unwanted hate. Westerens prefer permanent ownership of something, which is why they prefer physical media/1 time complete game purchases. Asians prefer portable gaming due to their busy work/school schedule, and progesssive stories, thus gacha games fit the categories. Since I have less free time due to work, gacha games fits my schedule as i just need to log in and complete dailies, sometimes played a little longer to complete main/event stories and tasks. Most Japanese mobile games tends to stick to their home country, due to sticking to certain niches/genres, that sometimes doesn't appeal to the general audiences worldwide. Also likely due to bad management and not generating enough profit, those live service games tends to shut down, with a few exceptions. Recently China developed more high quality mobile games IPs that sticks well to the general audience.
