Wow thank you for reacting! Glad you have discovered Kyla. She has her own RUclips channel too (Kyla Official) where she does have both her original songs and cover songs too. For an original song, try “Beautiful Days” it was very raw, she recorded at home with just her laptop and a minus one. In the middle of pandemic. It was very special. She wrote that song for her then bf now hubby. And in that video, there’s a little surprise towards the end. The song now had a different meaning for her. For cover, try her version of On The Wings of Love, or Yesterday, or The Beatles Medley. Looking forward to it!!!

You should react to Kyla's raw performance of her "Beautiful days" song, she sang it at her home. I Guarantee you, she will take you to church. There's not so many artists here (Philippines) who can sing gospelly/churchy, but kyla sure can! 🥰

Kyla, who did a duet with Brian McKnight on his PH concert, also made a new version of her original song 'Hanggang Ngayon'.. It's in Filipino and I think there is no English subtitle though.

If you will notice, the main musical arranger for that is the same as the one who did the arrangement for 'Weak' - Bobby Velasco. Although, most of the instrumentation for 'Muli' was done by Mike Shapiro and company.

So many runs happening in this cover. Their voice are awesome, smooth transition from middle register to falsetto. I’m a big fan also of Daryl but sometimes doing over runs make the sound not so captivating to listen. There’s moment when you can run and give twist to the song but there’s also some part when you just simply sing it straight. 🙂

Bobby Velasco is the one who arranged this one (he has a cameo in the video with Daryl). The background vocals is also Kyla's Voice....
Actually, that's not Bobby in the video. Daryl acknowledged Bobby by including his name in the video's title. And checking the credits, Kyla's backup vocals were done by Yosha Honasan - who fans say is Kyla's best friend.

The off-note that you mentioned at 5:30 (?) is called a blue note. Those were notes that are "intentionally" sung slightly flat or sharp. E.g., an A4 note is 440 Hz, a "blues-y" A4 could be around 430-436 Hz or 444-450Hz. It's most likely used in Jazz, blues, rnb or soul arrangements-- and it is freaking hard to practice. Doing it is more of a "talent" than "skills".
