Hi Mate, You Guys are pretty much one of a kind, the fact that your still running those big buds on the farm is just awesome..👍👍👍 Pretty much all our gear now is late model JD..... We do have an old 1984 Baldwin DP600, which we still run on the farm... Keep on farming..🌱🌾💚🇦🇺
The guys at the farm I´m helping out must have been planting them, too. I´ve been doing some tilling with a ripper and destroyed three shanks and ripped off 2 discs all in different spots of the field.
@@Masseyman-nv2kl I´m in great luck I don´t have to pay for that kind of stuff, I´m only working there for the fun of driving tractors and the BBQ at the end of the day, shanks are expensive that´s true but I can repair them in my homeshop and the discs have bolts designed to shear off, so you´ll only need to replace bolts when they eat too big of a rock. The downtime and crawling underneath that ripper sucks even harder tho.

Most definately as none of Welkers would have cleaned up the ground after cleaning and put the product in a bag and decided to seed it anyway..Maybe the cleaner itself and a hole in the screen somewhere? It would be very interesting if another local farmer used the same cleaner guy and if they had any stones come through?
Watching this on my Big Screen samsung with my 4 year old....He loves this channel. The quality on my big screen is as good if not better than 80% of channel content, the footage, edits music etc is all excellent. Keep it up Nick, this channel will explode to 1 million subs soon.
If cleaner just used air, how do you get rid of the splits, as splits are the same "tallness" as the whole peas! Surely you don't want to be seeding dead 1/2 split peas? You would need a gravity cleaner to get a pure whole seed source..Using these "cheap traveling cleaner people" feels good in the moment but the seed as the result is not top quality...if you are going to save your own seed, thus saving a lot of money, you should have some extra money to at least "condition what you harvest the best way possible".
Makes you wonder though how many times in the past that area got seeded with rocks blocking the pipes. In the end it will bring more money to you even if it means you have to stop constantly to unblock them.! Awesome video Thankyou !

Rocks flip up from trucks going down road, they end up on conveyor bottom on seed tender. Then end up in planter if you dont check before you load. Possible for you guys?? Seen it often 'here,' Dog riding on Big Bud is neat👍
old glory flinging while planting is awsome. The dog riding on the fender without a safety harness scares me. Nothing can replace a great farm dog. They have been know to save to farm or the family at minimum to keep on going. Dairy farm I stayed at in the summers to keep me from bad influences was the most important worker on that farm. 52 dairy cows 100 plus beef cows, hogs and did grain. keep farm dogs safe.
The small bud has had two engines since factory. The current came from a truck which had 17k miles on overhaul. The second bud was a overhauled kta 1150 which had 2500hrs and the third bud we bought used with 2700 hrs on rebuilt. So we have time before rebuilding.
I know you guys work hard as hell but damn your lucky to work under that beautiful sky I’m envious so glad I fell across your Channel all the best from the uk

Rocks!!! Nah couldn’t be!!! Never last here where I live. It’s all rocks. Losing time sucks when you’re farming. We’re farmers when we love what we do.
I have grandkids in this lovely age they will move a big gravel heap to all man made holes and pipes they can find except the place I want the rock to be. It's a complete mystery how they can find all spaces to put rocks where I can't get them out even with a vacuum pump. All equipment sounds like a maraca-rattle after a while! But you can always ask your daddy if he recognize this evolution stage in kids when doing so or trowing stones around. :) Happy planting!

We start in a week, last year we got lots of wee rocks in our Morris and it turned out at the fert plant they had a spill and cleaned up with a skid steer but never screened it and our tank baskets were'nt fine enough, plus you get some fert crust in there. can't wait to get seeding to have a rest from calving season, 2 months of 17hr days. seed on friends.

Da vid I know how you feel. I broke a mole board plough leg off with a boulder. Around a couple grand repair bill plus some welding

What engines do you run in your big buds? And How many hours do the big bud have on them?
Smaller bud is a 435hp nt 14, the others are 19l kta set at 525 and 600 hp. Have 9k to 11k hrs

And that’s why I screen my fertilizer 5/8 chicken wire works great. Lay it over the cart auger hopper. You’d be surprised of what comes out.
We do have hail screen mesh on the auger but they raised it out of the way because it slows the peas going through. Now we take the time.
