- BOND Founder & President, Jesse Lee Peterson, delivers a powerful talk and testimony about what men must do in order to be free of fear, anger, doubt, and insecurity. Jesse said that men represent Christ on Earth, especially when they are born again, but even a weak man represents Christ (albeit a poor representation). Jesse said it's abnormal for men to have anger; every man who has anger has the nature of his mother. That's why men can't find peace in that state. The man's nature is honesty, trust, sound mind & body, and he is able to help his woman in the right way. The father is supposed to protect the children from the mother (who is often angry), but because he needs the woman in the wrong way, she ends up destroying the children. The woman should come into the man's world, not the other way around. Women are hungry for a real man. They want a man who is committed to doing what is right. Men have to become a living example. A man is not a macho person; he is of love-real love. Not the emotional type of love, but the love that has no anger-no hate. Your thoughts are your greatest enemy. Drop anger so you can overcome the lie of the imagination. You must forgive in order to be a Son of God.
Jesse also asked the men in the audience the following questions, which elicited very interesting response:
1. If you could change one thing in your life what would it be?
2. What do you want out of life?
3. What’s your goal in life?
4. What is your greatest enemy?

When Jesse speaks about men having no emotions I think he is referring to the common battles and challenges that we face in our lives regarding finances, employement, people who mean us harm etc.... those things would normally cause a woman to be emotional but as a man we should see those things as small and deal with it with confidence. As a man no one on this planet should be able to get you angry when you walk in love. Our daily problems should not stress and cause us to become emotional due to stress but instead we should use our minds to problem solve and deal with our problems.

Wrong. that is not what he is saying. When he says real men dont have anger, he isn't saying that real men aren't angry people he is saying that men do not get angry, sad, cry, get depressed. Basically he is saying that men are sociopaths. Also, just believing in God does not mean you will not longer have doubt or fear. It just means that you have Christ to help you get through the hard trials of life. This man is an instrument of the devil. Btw, if it were true that true christians never sin then why would it be a tenet of our faith to ask God for forgiveness when you sin.

I've been an emotional man my whole life and it's been a hard, lonely, humiliating life. I always knew it was wrong and now I know for sure it is. I discovered JLP last night and I got immediately hooked, I already listened to two of his videos already. The MINUTE I saw the title of this video, I said, 'Yep! That's me, I don't even have to listen to his lecture to already know he's right." I'm listening anyways though.
Why am I here listening to this and why do I love this man so much? I am and have been a strongly opinionated atheist for many years. Read Hitchens books, Dawkins, Harris's and I don't think I could get myself to believe in a God unless I incurred some form of brain damage( no offense to anyone who does believe). This is the hardest battle I've ever had. I've known from the day I found God that I need to forgive but the problem is no matter how many times I believe I have and I tell my family I forgive them it comes flooding back just as painful and strong when I wake up the next day upset about them all over again. It seems impossible. I don't even want to be angry at them anymore but something is clearly keeping me from the peace I need.

This is also evolutionary fact. On a biological level, historically, women practice hypergamy to ensure their seed is of superior grade...that is they "marry up". This had evolutionary benefits...as when women have children, they are in a state of high vulnerability, and the man who has superior intillect, skill, and leadership qualities will often get the best food, shelter, help...ultimately leading to a better chance for offspring survival. These hereditary vestiges remain today. If most women are honest with themselves, looks aside, they want a man that's BETTER than them. Its a turn on for them. Men, on the other hand, place more value on a woman's looks and would be turned on by a beautiful illiterate woman who lived behind a dumpster.
It is a man's duty to bear most of the mental burden of leading his family. It's only fair since women bear most of the physical burden (i.e. bearing children, menstruation). When women (who naturally have the physical burden) also try to take the mental burden...it skews the workload...leaving men idle without much utility. No wonder society seems to be getting more dysfunctional and imbalanced.

First of all want to say that I love Jesse and have learned a lot from him. I have learned to be brave and stand for what is right. I agree with most of what he says but I have one thing that is muddy in what he is saying . We are saved from the penalty of sin once we believe Jesus died and rose again for all our sin. At the\at moment we are saved forever. not of works lest any man may boast. Ephesian 2:8-9. But now we are are saved by the Free Gift (Romans 6)we now need to grow in Christ. So I just want to clarify what the word of God says. I want Christians to know this so there would be no confusion. Salvation is not a process. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe.

I believe that Jesse has the best intentions in this message. Yet there are many examples of the heroes of the Bible that had emotions. Now if a man is yelling screaming and killing people. That's something else altogether. But what he does with his emotions speaks volumes. Being angry about a exam that you failed and harnessing that anger to study harder can be beneficial. Being afraid that my 11 year old son might drown in the ocean if he goes out too far can be useful. Waiting on the diagnosis from your onocologist can be scary too. However being aware of the dangers in the world isn't really fear. There are plenty of examples of heroes in the Bible that demonstrated emotions. King David was an extremely emotional man. If you just read through psalms you can see that. Or even after his son Absalom try to take over and was killed you could see his tearful emotion. But no one would suggest that he was a wimpy man or coward. Not just because he would run a sword through you. (And he probably would) Because he was a warrior and worthy of respect. Men are not cyborgs they are human. But they excel further if those emotions are put in check.

I had never heard Anyone say what Jesse said, he basically said the exact opposite of what you learn, you are the victim because in reality youre the perpetraitor. Youre scared and insecure because youre heart is evil. No one ever said that to me, always wondered why i was split in two persons, i always felt like i wasnt myself, i was insecure, shy, angry, weak, but i always knew that was not me, i was not like that as a kid, and i knew it was not the true me.
i was always open to the truth, so when i heard Jesse say it i could not ignore it, everything he said was true because otherwise i would not be free. Now i am a totally different person, i dont even remember who i used to be and i dont even understand how i could act and be like i was, its truly amazing!

I was psychotic due to schizophrenia for 50 years, in which time I had little or no idea of what was going on around me OR IN ME. I not only understood very little, but I also was unable to learn anything. God healed me when I was 65 years old. When I reentered the world, I was very much the same as I was when I was 14 years old. I had to make a million decisions since I was healed and one thing I realized was that if I was going to have a successful relationship I would have to have a life and a world for the woman to come into with me.
I was healed 7 years ago, and I still have no life and no direction to move in. I don't think I'll live long enough to figure out who I am and what I want to accomplish before I die.??????

Oh my Heavens Jesse, your statement about when a man has anger he is like his mother. This struck home as my husband is not saved and has anger issues as his mother does. It’s like his facial features change an I see a lot of parallels between those two. I asked God to help me to forgive and create a clean spirit within myself in order to deal with this. What do I say to people who think that Jesus was emotional at any point in the gospels? They say he was emotional, but I just saw logical responses to the events that crossed his path.
This is so true. The day I got saved and gave my everything to Jesus. Everything became new to me, I’m never angry obviously you get upset but I’m never angry or hate anybody. And everything for me and my wife have been amazing. It’s a true peace, a peace that alcohol or drugs or sex will never match, not even close

Nearly every musician has intense emotions and they are worshipped by women. I don't care about that. But it just disproves his point. I'm a male and i have emotions. Cause i'm a soul with feelings. All of the best moments in my life happened when i was with girls i deeply connected with and we both had intense emotions. It doesn't make you weak. Its the heaviest energy worth living for.
When my best friend died. I privately cried and have emotions about it for years. Because i flash on all the memories we had. When i'm listening to music i get emotional because i flash on my entire life story. When I Love a girl i have emotions because its real. And i don't care what anyone tells me is the right way to be a man. If you're a male that doesn't have emotions. You'r a caveman.
I just personally don't wanna change myself for someone else. If i'm a man and i'm emotional. Then that's how i'm gonna be. I think he uses the word "emotional" too loosely. Rev. Jesse, I'd argue with your point that men who have emotions are not men. Men who are in touch with their emotions can empathize with others. Your father would have stuck around had he been able to emphasize with your mother. He may have been better able to understand his own fears of raising a child. My thoughts as a strong man of faith.

The thing about visiting my father is the extreme pain that follows when we seperate! I feel 10 yrs old again as it just reminds me of the times when i was a child and he dropped me off with my mom after visiting for the summer or holidays etc. It takes me back to thst pain. How do you know you forgave? I thought I did, still had anger.
You know you've forgiven when you understand that whatever it is you despise about that person, you yourself have done the same to others. Once this is understood, forgiveness is the only option.

To be overwhelmed with emotion at times is a natural state of being. To be driven to live life based on the emotion in all actions one after another is something quite different. Jesus Wept is a powerful example of the former. 99.9% of people on earth aren’t as spiritual aware and connected enough to see just how insane we all are via our psychic (ego) distortion driven insanity. What he’s preaching is profound if you see it. Most people are so self identified with their thoughts which live in hand with emotional undercurrents they never experience the fact they are not their thoughts they are the awareness behind whatever thoughts and emotions manifest in their mind.

@Panasyukvic this is also why he says “you got to get dumb” and “you can’t trust the Bible or the people who quote the Bible” because people unconsciously quote the Bible to confirm their bias or to create doubt or contradictory arguments to make someone wrong or invalidate their arguments. It’s entirely what’s wrong. Everyone’s looking to use their emotion and psychic state of mind to make others wrong like this girl did with her snide “Jesus Wept” comment. She’s completely missing the point and reinforcing her ego and dilution in the process. It’s really quite crazy when someone steps back and realized they’re trying to be right and becoming even more wrong in the process. How can one return to his father if he’s seen his father get angry/emotional and cry more times than he’s seen his mother cry? It’s pathetic. No child wants to return to that. Weakness can’t lead neither can it be respected or honored. Best one can do in that scenario is to just do their best to not be angry at the thought of a father like that. To maintain a personal relationship with a human like that is toxic and best to go separate ways without holding resentment.
Jesse's mom was right to call his father no good. He wouldn't marry her and denied paternity. He rejected his own son. I believe it's healthy to forgive both parents, but not to automatically place blame with mothers and preference for fathers

I'm confused
Am I supposed to tell my parents I forgive them for how they hurt me, or apologize to them for feeling hurt and angry at them?
I know I've forgiven them both in my heart for how they hurt me. I have no fear to tell them both that. I know they are just humans and were doing their best. I'll say it to their face if I have to in order to get all this hate out of my heart.
What confuses me more is why should I have to apologize to them for feeling hurt/angry at then. I was a child at its normal to have a response of hurt/anger like I did. I'm willing to say those apolitetic words to them and to everyone that has hurt me in life but unless I get a better understanding, it would be a lie. I'm not sorry for being hurt and angry. It was natural. I've forgiven all that hurt me and I am no longer hurt or anrgy at them.

What if she refuses to see you, if she locks the door and won't answer, or runs away, or calls the police or someone else and falsely tells them you are threatening her,... how can you forgive her then?
I suppose one just has to forgive her in one's heart and hope the forgiveness travels as an energy to her soul.

I'm sure jesse is not married. If he is I feel badly for her. As a man I feel I am the leader of my home. However God has gifted my wife in amazing ways. She can cook clean and also fix things. I'm grateful for what God has done in our lives. Jesse needs to reconsider his thought process he does seem still a bit angry. I think that Jesse needs to develop a little bit of self-control and understanding compassion. I know though majority of the people in the audience like what he's saying because it's disrespectful to minorities and women. The truth is we all need to follow God his ways and seek his understanding.

Why is anger only handed down through women? My mom was very calm and my dad very angry, my mom's dad was very angry and my dad's mom very angry. Human brains produce the same stress responses so anger can come from either sex. It's dangerous to think only women can produce anger and blame them for the traits passed on to the kids. Managing anger is the responsibility of both men and women
Maybe your mom had forgiven her parents and your father haven't. Like Jesse, my problem started from my mom and then to my dad. So maybe it situational. Based on the events that took place in your life and the source of your anger or resentment.

This is so true. Women, including mothers, ask their boys or husbands or boyfriends - what are you thinking? What do you feel? Then, the man feels he is wrong or made wrong b/c of the woman. So, the man decides to become a woman.
