Grand Theft, La Caretta - 2018-054882

On August 24, 2018, an unknown male suspect removed the victim's iPhone 8 cell phone (valued at $700) from inside of the La Caretta restaurant (301 N University Drive). The phone had been left unattended on a chair inside of the lobby area of the business. The theft was captured on surveillance video, and shows the suspect to be a light-skinned (possibly Hispanic) male with dark brown/black medium-length hair, approximately 18-23 years old, with a thin build. The suspect can be seen removing the cell phone before exiting the business and attempting to enter his vehicle.
The suspect faces third degree felony theft charges for this incident.
