I'm gonna try this out in a few, but i just want to ask how in the hell does a main brand car stereo have worse Bluetooth than an offbrand Chinese speaker off Amazon? That thing connects right away nearly every time, yet my stereo that my phone is already paired with is like idk what you're trying to do
That's interesting because the owner's manual shows the same Bluetooth details for all 3 models. Bluetooth 3.0, A2DP 1.3, HFP 1.6. The 172 & 175 do have the 24 bit DAC, but I presumed that was because those models were equipped with the CD player. Have you tried clearing memory/resetting and pairing 2 totally different phones to see if it's a phone issue (or maybe one buggy app on one of the phones)?
@edwarddautrey3671 You are spot on. My kid is complaining that since I paired my phone in his Jeep, he's having weird BT issues. I'm gonna have him do this factory reset.
Same with the 172BT. What a shame, I wouldn’t expect this from Alpine and no recall to fix it or an exchange for an equivalent model. Time to go with pioneer which seem to be damn good car stereos.
The reset just reboots the radio as if it were powered up for the 1st time so there is nothing about the reset that would disable the output. If the unit is turning on, but you're not getting any sound, you could have an issue with one of your speakers. If one speaker has failed or one speaker wire is pinched or one speaker terminal happens to be touching any part of the metal door frame, the radio sees all of that as an open short and will turn off the internal amp to prevent overheating. Perhaps you have something else going on like that?
Great question! That's just a setting you can turn on/off. You have to turn the unit off or into a standby mode by pressing and holding the "back" button also labeled "sleep". Then press and hold set up, scroll to Bluetooth, select that option. Then scroll the knob until you see "Auto Answer". Push the knob in to select it and then turn the knob to "off". I have another video on how to get into that menu, but I go straight to BT initial. It's in that same area though so you might find it helpful on how to navigate to it. ruclips.net/video/HgJOKeUtcYY/видео.htmlfeature=shared
I'm not aware of any connection issues with this model specifically with the iPhone 15 max, but there may be a firmware update applicable to your unit. You can check for firmware updates here. Note - their website appears to be down for maintenance right now, but this is where Alpine's updates are usually found: kb.alpine-usa.com Also, if you have tried to already, clear the Bluetooth memory from the device (BT Initialize in settings when in Standby Mode) and also clear Bluetooth memory from your phone, restart your phone and then try and repair.

I try this but it doesn’t even reset, nothing on the screen changes
The 73BT has the entry level BT chip and does not like 2 paired phones .

Quality Mobile has video that explains the difference in Alpine Bluetooth chips, 1 phone works works great 73BT

I tried this hard reset when my phone stopped connecting. It turned back on and says “usb no dev” and now none of the buttons work. Any advice?
I did the reset on it and now my sound system doesn’t work is there a way I can fix that?
