I listened to that song everyday of the week since it came out until ep 3 dropped. It just goes so hard. Plus, the animation was adorable.

But take away the visuals and listening to the song itself, it's not a very complex piece like the other ED songs and it's very jarring tonally and thematically given the events of the penultimate episode that it caps off, so I'm not surprised that it's not as popular as the other 11 EDs.
Ending 6, 7 and 11 are so underrated. Such great songs to listen to, the melody and vibe of 7, the style and static nature of 6 and the energy and animation of 11. Chainsaw man has 12 top tier endings for sure
6 and 11 just aren't remotely impressive musically. They're pretty uninteresting as songs, and even the visuals that accompany them aren't all that memorable. It's fine to like them, and I definitely don't dislike the songs, but I see every single other ED song as better written, or with better visuals, and usually both.
For me, some endings are ranked thiq high because the transition between the end of the episode and the music was PERFECT For exemple, First Death just after the first death in the main cast was so effective. It conveys all the feelings Aki is having very well. At the begining of Rendez-vous, i was like ''wait, is it the ending??'' because it was perfectly timed with Denji's fall I thought it was what he was seeing. Also you didn't mentioned it but Time left is a Get out reference! Makima is hypnotizing Denji just like the woman in the movie
In the backroom is a masterpiece and the abstract visuals make it the best anime ending I've seen. I liked Deep down as well. Aimer's deep voice and all the blood was just mesmerizing and terribly fitting the episode.

TK, Maximum the Hormone, and Vaundy are indeed absolute bangers but I also really loved Aimer's ED song as it's so full of sadness, hope, and emotion. The other songs are interesting in their own right, be it the infectious bubbly City/J-Pop of Get On Chu, or the bonkers fun insanity of Tooboe. I incidentally was lucky enough to see Maximum the Hormone live in concert last year at Viva La Rock 2022 in Saitama, and they were on fire. They really know how to amp up the crowd and put on a show!

My wife and I have lived in Japan for about ten years now and we try to catch our favorite Japanese bands like Asian Kung Fu Generation and Sambomaster (plus the odd American one when they tour in Tokyo like Rancid and the Interrupters). Viva La Rock 2022 also featured Uchikobi Gakumon (very fun band; they made the OP for Netflix's 'Way of the Househusband'), SiM (they did 'The Rumbling' for Attack On Titan although they didn't play that particular song at Viva La Rock, much to our disappointment), Man On a Mission (their gimmick is to wear full-on wolf masks over their heads all the time and never take them off), and, of course, Maximum the Hormone. The music concert scene in Japan is very cool!
Ending 3 is my absolute favorite. What immediately sold me on this was how much it reminded me of those ads you'd see late at night on adult swim. The chaos in the animation & music choice were nostalgic to me in that sense and made me look fondly back as teen how edgy and cool it was to stay up late at night to watch a tv network where gore and heavy themes were the standard for the anime that played during the 11pm - 4am time slot on [as]. The first half of the music reminded me so much of the early 2000s Cartoon Network sounds you'd hear for example like the Powerpuff girls intro, so yeah. 10/10 :()
ED 8 and 3 are my most favorite with ED 1,5,10,&12 also on my playlist that I really enjoy to listen. But overall every ED are so good, the fact that Violence (still better than many ED from different shows in 2022) only at 11 as fans favorite its tell us how high the ED standard that had been set for CSM.
In the backroom should definitely be #1 here imo. The most visually interesting, varied, and distinct take on the Eternity Devil arc's material possible.
i agree wholeheartedly. i've listened to it about 300 times (homework takes a toll on one's mental state. any music is just noise arranged in meaningful waves. joy is naught but a hollow emotion meant for the ones who claw out of misery, and unfortunately, 7 pending 30pg question papers still claw on to the one trying to escape.) and yeah, this song is relatable too. i love this song so much.
I always assumed that Aki and Denji were praying to Himeno at that shrine in Ending 12 and Power was just sorta hanging out waiting for them to finish since she didn't really have any special connection to Himeno.

I was surprised Aimer's ending wasn't higher as well. ED3 definitely deserves the no.1 spot though. I can't really decide on a ranking since I like most of them basically equally but here's how I'd split it. Ed 8 being in second place warms my heart especially how Himeno treated in anime(manga originally) most of popular animes and mangas just "deleting" charachter and thats it, other characters wouldnt even remember them, but in CM we have Himeno who treated well, shall we say?

With how much effort was put into this season of chainsaw man, and the fact that it’s basically guaranteed that they’ll make a season 2 of it, I wonder if we’ll get another 12 unique endings for the next season. On one hand, it’d be really cool to have another 12 unique endings for CSM, but at the same time, realistically that seems, to put it simply, like an insane and time consuming thing to do.
Just a friendly heads up, Avu-chan, the vocalist of Queen Bee, is trans and doesn’t use pronouns. Japanese media often use kanojo (彼女) (an equivalent of she/her) to refer to Avu-chan cuz Japanese doesn’t have a proper term to use. (Wikipedia just uses Avu-chan instead of pronouns altogether). And for what it’s worth, while it may not have been my favorite ending, I don’t think Violence should be as low as it is, it’s interesting to see what a more cgi look to chainsaw man could have been

Even if you take out visual points i still think words cant express how much i love Syudou's songs, he's my top artist alongside Vaundy, Roce and Eve. Syudou has such a raw voice which sounds so much like Ado's (Fun fact: Syudou wrote and produces Ado's hit and debut song Ussewwa.) I love Vaundy as well but i don't think his song is the epitome of his works, i mostly think songs of his such as hitomibore or fukakouryoku are his best works but thats just the tip of the iceberg. I stand by In The Backroom as the 2nd best if not first, But Eve man. Eve takes it home for me 100% theres just something comforting about the melody and how he sings it and the lyrics correlate deeply to how Denji feels!
honestly every ending is just great and while i have favorites in 1, 3, 4, 5, and 8, i dont dislike any of them and will willingly listen to any of them. i read the manga after the last episode (since avoiding spoilers is basically impossible if you listen to the music) and wow all the manga content that anime watchers dont get is astounding. 10 in particular, as well as 5.
personally, the ones that i listen and like the most are end 5,10, 2, 1, so i would put them in top 4 but it is still a solid list. It feels strange but this is a "ok" list, approved xD
To me it’s shocking to see ed4 and ed1 that low. But I also like ed11 a lot so my opinion doesn’t count anyway lmao. No but seriously great video and breakdown of what made all of them great. Yesterday I read the manga to that point and now seeing the door in ed3 feels oppressive to me. I’ve never felt that overwhelmed in a manga and they literally put that moment in the most overwhelming music video ever made. 10/10 adaption.

I just love the Violence ending, sad to see it so low :( But i think all of the chainsaw man endings are really really good, only one that i dont really like that much is ending 2

@@RegistryEdits same. But to be fair they placed it in an pretty inconvenient spot. Jpop doesn’t fit after witnessing murder and trauma even tho the lyrics do. By itself it’s really good tho.
For me, it's the other way around since I like every ending and 2 might be one of my favorites. I don't hate violence but it just feels weird compared to other endings(just my opinion tho)
What’s your beef with 2
Violence has some great visuals and it's neat to see our favorite characters like Power just vibing to it. But take away the visuals and listening to the song itself, it's not a very complex piece like the other ED songs and it's very jarring tonally and thematically given the events of the penultimate episode that it caps off, so I'm not surprised that it's not as popular as the other 11 EDs.
Number 2, 4 and 12 are just magnifico
I thought I'd be disappointed with Eve not being the favorite one, but seeing Time Left so low is a crime for me.
Also, the top 2 are so good I started to think maybe the Eve ending is overrated after all lol

E ve is good but as a super long eve fan I can say all his songs sound very close to each other, so it's kinda hard to just listen to only a playlist of E ve songs

With how much effort was put into this season of chainsaw man, and the fact that it’s basically guaranteed that they’ll make a season 2 of it, I wonder if we’ll get another 12 unique endings for the next season.
On one hand, it’d be really cool to have another 12 unique endings for CSM, but at the same time, realistically that seems, to put it simply, like an insane and time consuming thing to do.
Just a friendly heads up, Avu-chan, the vocalist of Queen Bee, is trans and doesn’t use pronouns. Japanese media often use kanojo (彼女) (an equivalent of she/her) to refer to Avu-chan cuz Japanese doesn’t have a proper term to use. (Wikipedia just uses Avu-chan instead of pronouns altogether).
And for what it’s worth, while it may not have been my favorite ending, I don’t think Violence should be as low as it is, it’s interesting to see what a more cgi look to chainsaw man could have been

Songwise, I adore ED 1, 8 and 9. Visually, EDs 3, 11 and 8 are my favourites.
Even if you take out visual points i still think words cant express how much i love Syudou's songs, he's my top artist alongside Vaundy, Roce and Eve. Syudou has such a raw voice which sounds so much like Ado's (Fun fact: Syudou wrote and produces Ado's hit and debut song Ussewwa.) I love Vaundy as well but i don't think his song is the epitome of his works, i mostly think songs of his such as hitomibore or fukakouryoku are his best works but thats just the tip of the iceberg. I stand by In The Backroom as the 2nd best if not first, But Eve man. Eve takes it home for me 100% theres just something comforting about the melody and how he sings it and the lyrics correlate deeply to how Denji feels!
my personal favourites are hawatari nioku centi, in the back room and fightsong
I loved the scene when denji said "it's chainsaw time" and started chainsawing all the zombies. Truly one of the moments of all time.
The title reminds me of the time when our school was giving out awards for top ten students for a classroom of ten students.
honestly every ending is just great and while i have favorites in 1, 3, 4, 5, and 8, i dont dislike any of them and will willingly listen to any of them. i read the manga after the last episode (since avoiding spoilers is basically impossible if you listen to the music) and wow all the manga content that anime watchers dont get is astounding. 10 in particular, as well as 5.

Yesterday I read the manga to that point and now seeing the door in ed3 feels oppressive to me. I’ve never felt that overwhelmed in a manga and they literally put that moment in the most overwhelming music video ever made. 10/10 adaption.
I heard the colors in the "dogland" ending were chosen because it is similar to what the colors of dogs actually see
Love how most of the lower half of this list was the slow beat and slow composition ED's that are far better on some of the upper half ED's

Every single Chainsaw Man ending is a banger, absolutely none of them are misses. I listen to these songs on repeat tons of times. Some are above others by just a little bit. The only one I really feel is a bit lower in quality than the rest is VIOLENCE. Other than that, every other song is atleast an A. This is my ranking:
