Interestingly, the little baby-style angels you talk about in the beginning of the video are really putti, (singular, putto,) who come out of Roman art and are really more closely related to the Roman god Cupid than "angels" in the Biblical sense.

That's fascinating, especially in light of my post above.

What about the bible verses about angels with wings on their side. And it names like 6 of them. And covers them.
The ark angles had wings and even changed their positions on top of the ark.
    Jacob wrestled and angel.
The marckava (spelling?) Has angels in 4 sides.😊
Or the kabbalah arch angel prayer for protection. Micheal on rt, Gavreal on left, Uriel in front, ralpheal in back.

Man was created just like Angels, e.g., Let's "make" in our image. Eve was "created" after Adam. Man fell, Angels did not fail. Man is below. Angels are Above. Man is NOT in the Presence of God or Throne. Angels are in the Presence of God. Man does not know God. Angels know God.
The Torah was given by "The Angels", read it.
The Burning Bush, it was an Angel, read it.

I tuned in to hear about angels but you got off the topic by talking about hell. You lost your audience at that moment.

Hi! The idea was to remind people not to get confused by anthropomorphic terminology. In the same way that "hell" is not a "place of fire and lava," angels are not winged babies that play harps in the clouds.

@@pinchastaylor Hell is a place in the Hinnom Valley where child sacrifice took place. It is called Gehenna. Have you ever read about it? Children were sacrificed to the fire gods and then thrown into a large cave where a stream ran through at the back, below. They were carried off by the god to be accepted. I'll never forget the impact standing in front of that cave had on me. The horrible fear I had for many years of hell went away. The concept is left over from the pagan beliefs of Hellenism. Most Jews of that era were Hellenists. I wasted too many years letting the concept of hell terrify me. You cannot get me to go down that road again. It surprises me how hard most people, Christians and some Jews (not many Jews) will dig in to defend this idea. I hear "tell me anything but please don't take away my terror!" - I believe in reincarnation and I'm not expecting a stopover in Gehenna first. You can believe in this kind of terror if that's what you need but you'll never convince me to although I know you want to try.

@@lindag5116 why would I want to try?...and it was such a peripheral topic to the overall lesson...

@@pinchastaylor and yet you brought it up right away. Not exactly incidental. Isn't it enough that we get this from Christians? I don't expect to hear it from Jews. Have you ever really examined this hellenistic belief and its origins?
