Thanks for taking the time and effort to make the video. I think this is gonna help me with the issues I’m having getting the rear portion of my roof liner to pull down. Great work.
Perfect vídeo, very thanks!!! One question: Do you sand the pieces before painting or do you paint over them and if so, does the paint not come off or does it look ugly, poorly painted? Sorry for muy inglish i usted traduct
Thank you. I wash all the plastic parts first. Then comes sanding and application of plastic primer. When I have done all that, then 2-3 thin layers can be painted and the final product will not be ugly.
Bonjour. J'ai utilisé de la peinture automobile, une base avec un vernis mat incolore, elle a été appliquée au pistolet à air comprimé. Avant cela, il était préparé... nettoyage, ponçage et apprêt plastique pour toutes les pièces en plastique.
Old material cannot be reused. Everything must be removed, the burnt sponge must be cleaned and the new material must be glued with thermal glue. It is the only real solution for a perfect result.
Hey I just bought brand-new BMW X4M and there is a gash in my headliner. The dealership doesn't want to fix it because they said it would cause more damage and it would never be back to factory spec. I'm really pissed at this point, but if they don't feel comfortable to do the work, another dealership said they would in the service dept. Is this something I should have replaced professionally at the service dealership or maybe a body shop> I don't want any creaks, sounds, scratches or anything. I just want it to look brand new like it's supposed to.
It is definitely something that the seller should solve and replace the headliner exclusively at an authorized service center. I believe that an authorized service center should have the knowledge and tools to remove the headliner without tearing or breaking it, in other shops I am not sure how much patience and skill they will have to do it. Good luck.
Hello mate. Really cool video. Congratulations I did it too on my E92. But the belt part I don’t know how to fix it well. 😢 The part it isn’t fixed well on the top of the belt (both parts both side) What do you think I have to do ?
Greetings. Maybe some hooks were broken during disassembly, so you can't fix it properly. Check it out first. That could be a problem because only the hooks hold that part.. there are no screws etc..
the black clip in the rear of headliner that holds the grey plastic handle, is that sold separately or would i have to get a whole new headliner? struggling to find a part number for it
I only disconnect the battery if I have to disconnect the airbags. In this case, there was no need to touch anything related to the airbags, so I did not disconnect the battery.
I didn't use spray. First of all, a plastic primer must be applied. I painted with car paint, base coat and finally matte varnish. The spray is not permanent, it peels and sticks all the time.
This is as the title says .. how to remove the headliner. This process is shown from beginning to end. And, if you mean on the reparation headliner itself, which is not the topic of this video, you can find it in one of my othe videos on the channel, e.g. ruclips.net/video/cRx-KQxzMlE/видео.html
I didn't make this video to entertain you Richard, but to help people fix these things so the music is totally irrelevant, especially since you have the option to turn the volume down and mute. I'm really interested, if you were able to make even one video like this, what kind of music would you put on it?!
This video made me actually do it on mine, starting tomorrow.
I'm glad the video is helpful. Good luck
Do you know if the same can be removed in the facelift version with a sunroof?
Of course it can, just watch out the hooks around the sunroof. Good luck.

Great work.
I'm glad the video was helpful. Thanks for the comment.
do u do something before with the airbags like disconnect the battery or something? or can you just take the panels off and nothing will happen?
You just remove the panels and nothing will happen. I never disconnect the battery during the disassembly and assembly of the headliner.

Bonjour vous avez utilisé quoi comme peinture ? Jolie travail et merci pour le tuto pour le démontage 😊

Un grand merci de m’avoir répondu bien à vous 👍
Thanks mate.Which thermal glue did you use?Could you share a link please?I Am asked because i dont know any idea for"thermal glue" sorry.
You can use Dunlop GP. It does a great job.
Question how do you glue back the top of liner it was falling out and at end you fixed up nicely….?
Old material cannot be reused. Everything must be removed, the burnt sponge must be cleaned and the new material must be glued with thermal glue. It is the only real solution for a perfect result.
Did you unplug the battery before starting?
I didn't disconnect the battery during this process!

can you paint it with any paint or its specific type
I only painted the plastic parts, and used car paint applied with a paint gun. Headliner and pillars are upholstered.

Kako plastike, rucke i viziri izgledaju trenutno?
Nema promjena i nakon nekoliko godina korištenja.
Odlicno, hvala na odgovoru.
omg thank you sooooooo much i am planning to do this but on my e90. is it the same??
Basically, everything is the same. Good luck
@@VDEdition1 thank you so much!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻 much love and good luck for everything🫶🏻

Sorry it’s so late! But that will give you part numbers for everything you’ll ever need!
Koliko ti je metara platna trebalo?
Nekih 3,5m za nebo i stubove..
I tried taking off that back piece in the center of the rear windshield and glass fell on me😭
Oh no. There was too much pressure and that's why the glass broke. You should pull from the glass and not towards the glass.
do i need to unplug car battery for doing this?
I didn't take it off. If you have diagnostics to delete errors after disconnecting the battery, you can remove it, but I say, there is no need.
@@VDEdition1 okay, thank you, i was worried about airbag in the back
Thx
I'm glad the video was helpful.
Did you break the clips at the B pillar ?
Nothing was broken during process as can be seen in the video.
Do u turn off the battery?
I only disconnect the battery if I have to disconnect the airbags. In this case, there was no need to touch anything related to the airbags, so I did not disconnect the battery.

Bmw e91 is easy?
The procedure is mostly the same.
nice one
THX.
You didn’t show the most useful part.. but appreciate your time tho, great effort still🤝
