DIY-How design and build an ornate side yard gate or door - double gate or door

In this video I show how you I designed and built my side yard gate or door. I went with the double door design instead of single door…. allows me flexibility to bring something larger into the background if I want to at a later date.
I took down the fence on one side fo the house and used it to build my double door and the small fence on either side of the doors.
i used 2x6 redwood (hand picked) since I did not use kiln dry wood.
I drew up my door in AutoCad and used printed stencils to cut out the curved portions of the
door and the top trellis.
If i had to do it again, i would pay the extra money and get kiln dry wood. It's easier to work with and you have a better chance of the finish penetrating the wood for a finish that will hopefuly last longer.
As Always, SAFETY is first. Use all the precautions and safety equipment and gear at all time…depending on what is being done that includes, gloves, glasses, mask, etc.
