The company didn’t really treat the members well and loads of girls ended up leaving and new girls were joining. Their lineup had remained inconsistent and the members were always changing. In this original group, they had the first ever black kpop idol (not the black girl in the video). She was American and tended to promote with the Korean members on occasion. There was a lot of confusion, and the industry wasn’t as developed at the time. She ended up leaving the group. After some time, the group rebranded to black swan under the same company. The new lineup consisted of Fatou (the black girl in the video), one Brazilian - Japanese member (Leia), and three Korean members (youngheun, hyeme, and Judy). They released their debut as black swan called “tonight”. They then had their comeback with “close to me” which was much more well received. However, one member (hyeme) ended up leaving the group due to a scandal in her personal life. After close to me was released, Leia ended up getting into a scandal with Fatou as she was allegedly bullying her and causing issues. She went on an indefinite hiatus and didn’t end up re joining black swan. Judy and youngheun also left the group. At this point there was only Fatou left. There were auditions held at the company for new members. Nvee, sriya, and Gabi were recruited as the new lineup along with Fatou. They came back with the ep “Karma” and it is one of their best performing songs to date. It was a huge step in quality and extremely well received as all girls got to shine. Also, group chemistry was the best it’s ever been. These 4 girls have formed a genuine sisterhood and get on really. This comeback was even better than the last, we got three new b sides with members contributing to songwriting. These girls have broken all kpop stereotypes, with not a single member even being Korean anymore, but they still receive praise from k netizens and international fans

10/10 This is an amazing group on and off camera. If you ever were into kpop when it was dope (1-3 gen) then you would see the similarities in terms of vocal range, confidence, skill, etc. I would love love love to see them collab with some older group *cough cough* 2NE1. I almost left the kpop wagon until they came through. This sounds like it would be a good club song in Korea esp since it's not a whack antichorus. I could see some DJs having some fun with it. I would say XG when they first began was not the XG we know today so its not a good benchmark for other groups. They started taking off when they followed the blue jeans and aespa formula. This is technically Blackswan's 2nd stage/comeback since this lineup was introduced. So they are babies in the industry but with quality that we would expect to see from more seasoned groups. Which is the 1-3rd generation standard yet lacking in the last few generations.

But they are a kpop group because they sing in Korean and English like other kpop groups as well as trained in the same environment and style as kpop groups so that's another reason, and like others have said they are all from diverse areas!! x

She’s the leader and main rapper of the group! Next is NVee from the USA, who is the main vocalist. Gabi is Brazilian, and she is the visual of the group! Lastly is Sriya who is Indian, and is the maknae and main dancer of the group! They are extremely talented and this comeback shows that! I can’t recommend listening to the whole EP enough, it is so amazing and they really did amazing with this comeback!
Edit: On a scale from 1-10, Blackswan is a 10 for me. They’re my favorite girl group. They’re super talented and I love their music, I can’t recommend them enough

basically a lot of people are confused with blackswan because they are not Korean. But they are a kpop group because they sing in Korean and English like other kpop groups as well as trained in the same environment and style as kpop groups so that's another reason, and like others have said they are all from diverse areas!! x

Blackswan are a global kpop girl group formed by DR Entertainment , that debuted in 2020 as a 5-member group. Due to a whole lot of situations, 4 of the OG members are no longer with us. The line-up now consists of 4 members ,Fatou, Nvee, Gabi, and Sriya, and we have truly lucked out. This group has really been through it all but they are survivors that continue to beat the odds and provide amazing work!
You just listened to their title track Roll Up of their first Ep Album that goes by the same name. This is their second comeback with this lineup with 4 new amazing songs (definitely need to check that out as well). Also highly recommend their last single Karma and its partner Cat and Mouse. The girls do not disappoint!
