Awesome video. I lift Cybersecurity 7 years ago but am now looking to get back into IT but nor Cybersecurity. I've recently been playing around in my home lab with a number virtualization and Containerization tools but not knowing what areas of IT I could put those skillsets to use in. But since I've been following you, you've helped me to better understand the DevOps landscape. I really appreciate you and your channel.
Thanks so much for the kind words. It makes me happy to hear that my channel has been helpful on your journey. Sounds like you're on the right track too!
Thank you for this explanatory video, what would the path to DevOps look like for someone that has worked in IT? I’ve been a sysadmin for 6 years for a few MSP’s, does that carry over?
Hi Erick, no problem! If you haven't watched it already, you should take a look at my video on "How to Become a DevOps Engineers". It directly addresses the path into DevOps from an IT/Admin background. ruclips.net/video/vxcE28zo7Gw/видео.html. The short answer is yes, some of that experience will carry over, as you need to have admin experience in a DevOps role (familiarity with Linux and the like). However, you will need to probably work on other skills that you may not have worked on in an IT/Admin role like automation scripting and CI/CD.
Python is a great language for DevOps, as there are a lot of roles within DevOps that use it (such as an automation engineer), so I do think it would be worthwhile to learn DevOps.
Hi! So a lot of DevOps roles require several years of experience, but there are some areas within DevOps I think are accessible to new graduates. In particular, I think there's quite a few Cloud Engineer roles where you're performing infrastructure automation and configuration tasks in a cloud provider. Another role that comes to mind is that of an Automation Engineer, either within the Engineering or IT department of an organization. Some of these roles do not require many years of experience and could definitely be a good opportunity for a new graduate.

Best explanation to someone that had no knowledge of devops . You need to create a training program
Thanks! I'm really glad to hear that. Will definitely consider a dedicated training program.

Your course is really helpful.
Can you make a series of course about Jenkins ?
