    If you get a military vehicle, GET THE MANUAL! There's a SPECIFIC manual for every military vehicle called a "Lubrication Order". It will tell you EVERYTHING than needs to be lubricated, how often, and what specifically to lubricate it with.

    You've had some good M35A2 vids, but you really missed the mark on this one (and tons of lube points too). Mine is bobbed, no PTO, no winch, and it still has 45 zerks listed here;
    Truck back-end
    2 on pintle
    6 on leaf springs
    1 on rear driveshaft at diff.
    - Truck middle
    4 on park brake
    2 on rear driveshaft at transfer case
    3 on jackshaft
    2 on rear of front driveshaft
    1 on speedo drive adapter
    3 on clutch/brake pivot shaft
    2 at clutch/bellhousing shaft
    1 at clutch hub splines/throwout bearing carrier (Inside inspection cover)
    - Truck front
    (My truck does not have a zerk on the tach drive cable adapter, yours may)
    6 on leaf springs
    4 on king pins
    2 on tie rod
    1 on front of front drive shaft
    2 on pitman arm
    3 on steering wheel shaft (hydraulic power, box outside of frame rail)
    Your truck probably has 50 zerks or more.

    Thanks B.C. Don’t know if you’ll see this note or reply but it’s worth a try.

    Thank-you soooo much for posting this!! Last month I picked up a big grease gun with hose and adapters along with Lucas extra heavy duty grease (green colored) at Napa. I've yet to get to lubricating everything, but this video is way faster than reading everything in the maintenance TM. One thing you forgot: the Pintle hitch has 2 zerks on it. Also can you do a video on how to check/change the winch fluid? Thanks again!

    Can't get to the grease fittings on the winch driveshaft? Disengage the drum clutch in the winch and you can turn the shaft to get to them. Also put both the transmission and transfer in neutral to allow you to access those fittings. If you are going to have a problem with u-jointsnut is usually on this shaft
    A M35WW has 37 grease fittings

    My grease gun which is almost 40 y.o. has a solid metal snout at an intelligent angle which will reach most grease nipples. I have found that the rubber hose variants will sometimes have their tips pop off the nipple when pressure is applied while one can securely hold mine in place throughout the operation.

  • @donaldsmith3048

    I would go on my computer and list them all in a doc file and print this out so you don't miss any. I have done this for the change over for my generator when I lose power in hurricane, and other things that if I miss a step things could get bad. Just make a check list print out and mark off them as you do them. Maybe you don't forget as easy as I do. But making a check list doesn't take much time and could help you keep your Deuce working longer. No I don't have one wished I did!

  • @philfrancis6238
    @philfrancis6238 6 лет назад

    Did you forget to mention that any M35 owner should have a lubrication order which identifies all the grease points and other oils to use. You forgot the 3 fittings on the clutch and brake pedal pivots, the speedometer drive, rear axle reunions, tie rod ends, clutch pivot shaft in bell housing, pintle hook and king pins. And don't forget the oil can points.

    My favorite smaller chain oil & lube shop told me their grease gun doesn't work & management won't replace it 'cause so few vehicles have zerk fittings. I just got new Moog ' Problem Solvers ' sway bar links. Moog states the consumer must grease the parts before use. I am dumbfounded how few shops have grease gun for zerk fittings. Going forward, I will skip zerk fittings ( I stay in an apartment and can't store anymore tools! ). BTW: you have Prediabetes. Greatly reduce sugar/bread/fast food. Peace.

    List all of the grease fitting put this in your computer, print out the list, put in the book. Or print out put in plastic to keep it clean and use it when you grease the deuce. Or print out many copies and check off each fitting as you do them to be sure you get all of them each time you do it. I don't know how hard it is to be get new parts to replace any that go bad but I don't think they are easy to get many of them. I think in one of your videos you showed the book on the deuce, it should have Alll the fitness list in it and maybe photos showing where they are.

    I like all your videos on the deuce I'm on my way of getting one. I haven't seen a video on the tires. What's your thoughts on what you have compared to these super singles or other tires that are out there and what the benefits are to each.

    • @deuceandguns
      @deuceandguns  7 лет назад

      I need to do a video on tires at some point. The stock tires that I run are cheap and work ok until you hit mud or snow and God help you if you decide to take sharp corner in the rain faster than a jogging pace. All of the big super single options are better in every way over the stock tire but can be expensive to find ones that aren't dry rotted or already worn and they change the look of the truck. Even with the trade offs I like the look and price of the stock tire but if I ever decide to go non-stock my go to tire option will probably be the Goodyear g177 or similar tire. The g177s will outlast most other tire options many times over and they were designed for uses such as coalfields and mining so they're rugged as well.

    If you really wanted to do a complete list so that other deuce owners (like me) could use it as a how-to/checklist if you simply name where the fitting is and show its location we don't actually have to watch you grease each fitting. However, this is a fine video, I appreciate it as I need to do my first chassis lube...even if you didn't cover every zerk, I'mm sure you got most of them and my truck will be better for whatever maintenance I do. Thumbs up from me.

    • @deuceandguns

      It's an interesting phenomenon you touch on here. Americans as a whole tend to be early adopters of new tech so we usually associate the product to the original inventor and/or company even after the patent has long expired. Zerk invented and originally sold grease nipples so we still call them Zerks. Many of us also still call the photocopier a Xerox regardless of who manufactured the device and most carpenters still refer to all handheld circular saws as a Skilsaw for the same reason.
