  • The UNESCO World Heritage site of Fontenay is an old Cistercian abbey, one of the oldest in Europe, and was founded by Saint Bernard in the 12th century. It has been preserved remarkably intact, with many buildings such as the church, cloister, dormitory, and several others all intact and looking great. It's so well preserved, in fact, that it's been used as a filming location for many French TV and movie productions! Let's have a closer look.

It's an incredibly beautiful spot! One of the best monasteries we've seen I think.
