Couldn't help but notice the UK stuff everywhere. My first read is this was done in central Kentucky. Maybe Lexington. I'm pretty sure we're close to the same age. I'm 53 and played a lot back in the 80's and 90's up around 1998-99. When technology made its way into the game, the hustling was all but over. Always enjoyed watching you play. I hit the road with a good friend John Brumback and we snuck up on our fair share of scores. He still plays banks as well as anyone at 58 or 59 years old. "Straight Back" !!! Thump!!!!
Thanks, you'll appreciate what we have at www.masteringpocketbilliards.com - shows every aspect of the game and how the champion players perform their fundamentals....its actually easier to do these things correctly, it just takes the willingness to practice.
the Touch of Inside does make the game more fun for me, and a very intimidating way to play, especially when you're hitting the ball firmer and more crisp.....your shots will make a different sound than your opponents, and they will have no idea why!
I recently started using this grip ( didn't realized you used it ) after watching SVB and a couple snooker players using it. It feels awkward at first but it really helps you stroke straight. Now I just need to put the hours in until it feels natural.
@@cjwiley1541 You should check out the virtual tournament I currently have going on. The next match is tomorrow night at 9pm EST my channel LIVE!! I would love to see you be a part of the next one!!
Love these videos Cj.. Met you in Atlanta some 20 plus years ago.. i also saw on the pool player podcast you were going to do one of these video a week. Do you have these types of videos on your membership site? This is value.. thanks..
Yes, I have some of these road stories on my website, also a documentary about Earl Strickland running 11 straight racks in my pool room for $1,000,000 - and over 12 hours of instructional videos + my Precision Pool Drills to help develop a powerful, accurate stroke....It's all a steal at under $10
Hi CJ, a few questions as I have been a member of your site for awhile now and have watched the TOI videos and have practiced it extensively now. - How do you know when it’s time to pivot using TOI? I still have a hard time with that - Also, I know you only use Center to Center and Center to Edge alignments. What about those shots where the object ball is kind of in between the 2?
First off there's No Pivoting when using TOI - you cue slightly to the inside and keep your center/center target so there's an angle to your cue but it's the opposite of a pivot, when you're cutting the ball to the right the angle of the cue is left slightly - you only need two alignment positions, but there's 4 angles you'll create from Center and 4 angles using Edge as your alignment - the aiming should be easy and natural, it's mostly Feel, so don't overthink the shots, seek to Feel the Angles, Feel the Pocket, Feel your cueball target and you'll do much better, as long as you're ALIGNING the same on every shot (either C/C or C/E) - until you actually try this for an hour or two you won't realize your eyes can. See all the angles from those two alignment positions.
CJ ...... I was playing in south Florida in late 1970's and early 1980's .... they called me TJ .....yup .... recognize so many names that you mention.....Carella got killed and I moved from Tallahassee to Tampa.... BillStigall had action joint down there in Tampa too...EVERYBODY was down in Florida.... you beat me 9-4 in a tourney(pissed me off....lol) .... good days ..... Viera is a name you didn't mention..... TommyBrown played good down there then....I couldn't beat him was lucky to get away with my shirt..... but played some for the guy at Olympia Bar ..... love your stories
I'm doing well, down here in Sanford Florida giving lessons at Racks and enjoying the Florida weather with a few rounds of golf. You definitely knew many of the same players I did, Florida had a ton of action back then, I won over 100k and had an amazing time. Play well my friend, Cya
The bets varied quite a bit, it was easy to play for 10-$20 a game, although we would often lose on purpose for $20 to get the bet up to $100's....or even thousands.
That's certainly possible one of these days, currently I'm teaching a competing in Orlando Florida, not sure when I'll be back in Texas. What is your favorite pool room's name?

CJ is way cool. Thanks for all the lessons.👍
Well done CJ 🤩👍. Thanks for sharing.
Love your vids and stories Sir! Ty
Glad you like them! Play well.
I’ve been searching for this kind of instruction...phenomenal straight to the point for intermediate players trying to level up

This game has been teaching me for 35 years. I noticed if you talk smack when shooting it often comes back and bites you in the arse.lol
Thanks you sir! TOI works perfectly for me!

Tommy Brown was tough, I don't think I ever beat him at Peg's Pocket.
Hey CJ, my grandfather was PortChester Mickey Carpiniello - Have you ever heard/played with him?
I'm not sure, where was he from?
