Marlin... I always appreciate that story!! As a kid I did some fishing but drugs and alcohol took a stronghold on my life for many years. About a year ago I decided enough was enough and fought tooth and nail to achieve sobriety. After I got sober I realized I needed to find a new hobby and have been fishing almost daily since then! They say "don't trade one addiction for another" but I don't think I would have stayed sober this long without having fishing!! My time in nature with God and his creations saved my life!! Would love to get out there with you guys one of these days and maybe share my story with some other guys in similar situations cause being a fishing ADDICT saved my life!! Addicted por Vida!!
That’s a beautiful story. More power to you. God is great. Having not known you, I am super proud of you to conquer your addiction. Keep up the great work
Appreciate the positive approach to the word addicted. I was addicted to alcohol for a long time. Shakes and all. Fishing replaced that addiction after I quit. You guys rock! Love the videos and info
Direct result of your channel, I've purchased 2 Okuma rods and 3 reels. They've been great. Appreciate that you take the time to educate on products and ensure they are high quality before you endorse.
Dude marlin, love this video man! I came up to you at Portland expo show a couple years ago and was the guy who said I appreciated your older video talking about addiction and how you started addiction. Appreciate the inspiration man! You’re one hell of a dude!
Idk Marlin, this addiction can kill you. Myself and 3 buddy's once set out down a remote river in the rain forrest with zero drift boat experience. We were in spitting distance of a Brown Bear on a Moose carcus and got caught in some pretty knarly sweepers. I'd wanted to fish that river since I was a kid and read about it in a magazine. Your videos in SE AK helped me to convince a few guys to send it. We all survived but let's not say "this addiction can't kill you". Your the man! Love the videos and you guys are great advocates for the fish in the PNW. The best part about your crew? No river names! Being in the great lakes that is appreciated more than you can possibly know by old heads like myself.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Always Great fishing with the addicting crew. You guys always get my fishing hunger even greater. Working in the hospital doesn’t give me enough time off to fish as much as I want. But Wednesday I have 11 straight days to fish Washington and I’m excited.
Great job Marlin... You are truly an inspiration to the fishing world... Without all your guy's hard we wouldn't have motivation or voice we do today to fight back getting our runs back to what they need to be
Love you guys have met you guys a couple times on the water. I’m the guy yelling cams name and thumbs up on the river haha fishing saved my life from this fetanyl uprise in Portland. I was stuck just got sober needed something so I started fishing. Haven’t looked back sense my son is 3 now and is fishing alongside me! Keep it up you guys inspire me! I want to guide in the PNW one day myself!
Thanks marlin for the bk story I take my hat off to you sir and what you all stand for much love and respect ✊ 🎣🎣 ps why is the crappy called a crappy is because they taste crappy lol 😂
Marlin, don’t feel bad. I grew up in Florida and had no problem catching fish there but I was transferred up here to Bremerton, WA in 1989 and I still have problems catching fish up here. I lose more than I reel in. But put me in Florida and I am landing them. It’s your problem but in reverse.
I have not had good times fishing in lakes cause I didn't know what the bottem looked like. I don't have a fancy fish finder but I went a year with working in environmental stuff and figured it out from the data. a lake I fished on was near spawning season for rainbow so I switched my spoon to a orange color and instantly got bites and nibbles. I only took one fish home cause ya doing it for the sport and education.
I tagged and got data from steelhead. I got least 5 deadly steely's and radio tagged data collection. I used my own rod and reel other than the company provided gear. I asked a friend about it before i went and he said do you even know how to fish degrading but I stand strong and do what i can. I got my name on the board. should take a look at my tackle box now. I got it all but I wanna buy addicted fishing gear soon. Soon
Thank you needed see this ugh / when I was younger all could think about / then ugh world flipped me when younger ugh … just lost the passion… collect old fishing gear but fishing camping ugh
his not telling you the truth about the drag, when storing the reel lossen the drag off, if the drag is tight, during storage YOUR COMPRESSING THE CARBON FIDERS UNDER PRESSURE , WHEN NOT NEEDED. !!!!??? LOOK YOU CAN BUY THIS REEL, YOUR CHOICE, BUT AT LESS HAVE RESPECT FOR YOUR REELS WHEN STORING THEM. THE DRAG CAME IN THE BOX LOSE , STORE IT THE SAME WAY? COMMON SENCE
MUSTAD hooks copied owners hooks on the technical makings of the THERE NEW HOOKS,? the wire is still thin compared to others and the hooks break instead of stretching out, , a hook that break is a lost fish, a hook that stretchs out is a hook thats still holding on possible losing the fish , but better then breaking the hook, i fish long range sportfishing, i have seen people using mustad hooks that break off in the middle of the hook, i use OWNERS HOOKS ONLY, they dont breaks off , they hold on? one more thing to remember , fishing with a ring on the hook, make sure the ring in welded together, not pinned together?, and the ring hook, moves with the fish nstead of working its way out of the mouth of the fish?
