Hello, thank you so much for sharing how to use the Wondermill. I just received mine in the mail and I’m really excited to start using it. Is there anything that I have to do before the first use? Also, how would I get the coarse texture corn for making grits?
Thank you so much 😊.
You're welcome 😊
Great info. I wish I had one.
Thanks
Will this mill have a problem with sprouted wheat? What about rice into rice flour?
The sprouted wheat must be entirely DRY before milling. And yes, it mills rice.
Is this the only mill the Beckers recommend?
Would the nutribullet be as strong to use?
We do sell a few different mills, but our favorite is the WonderMill. The NutriBullet will not get your grain fine enough for bread-making, and it will come out very coarse. The NutriBullet is not made for, nor large enough for grinding grain into flour. Hope this helps.
The video mentions that this mill doesn't grind coarsely enough for grits. What would BBer staff recommend for freshly milled grits without having to purchase another mill? My family enjoys grits!
We suggest using a blender. :)
The best mill, for cracked grains, grits and very fine flour is by far a stone mill. Two baking professionals that I am aware of, Done Waste The Crumbs and Ask Wardee, started with a Wondermill, but since have switched to and highly recommend a MockMill.
The tiny tab ends up in the flour then doesn’t it (?); when it breaks off. That’s worrisome, it means it would get into flour that we eat after baking it.
If the tab breaks off during milling (which is very unlikely), there is no way that it would be able to get into the flour. It would fall into the cup.
@@BreadBeckers do you sell the breads already made? I’m trying to learn this but would like to buy online and have shipped to me in meantime. Ty for the answer to the tab question! :)
Why would you choose a flour milling machine that induces so much heat into your ground flour, because as we all know, heat destroys nutrients!
Actually, that is not correct information. You must bake the bread at 350 - 400 degrees so heat is not what kills the nutrients in flour. Oxygen is what destroys the nutrients in flour once the grain is cracked open.
Great information, Unique One! Thank you so much. Stay blissful daily daily. Peace 💚
Because the steel blades spin at about 10,000 rpm, oxygenation begins immediately. If you buy a Wondermill, make sure that you also buy hearing protection. Every demonstration of a Wondermill that I have ever seen, when the Wondermill is operating, the recording volume is either muted or turned down!
