Day 3 hatching, or baby boom (part 1)

The night passed peacefully. No more turtles hatched. From the tracks in the sand, I discovered that jackals had come during the night. They stopped about twenty meters away from me, paced around a bit, and then went back along the dry creek bed. During the day, I was working, and around six in the evening, I decided to check on the nest. Just in case, I took my camera and snorkeling gear with me. Even as I approached the nest, I spotted a newly hatched baby turtle. I filmed its journey to the sea and its first swim.
