Pile one resonates so much. I have some negative habits that I have been trying to break for a long time and not much success. Skin picking being my one of my biggest and its so hard to stop. I am trying but so many factors play into it, anxiety, adhd, stress, itchy from bug bites and healing, self judgement and punishment, I cannot pinpoint a solid solution. And I really want to stop. Part of me feels like this is more of a karmic thing than simply an escapism kind of thing. I do not know what I did to deserve such poor treatment of myself but it must have been something not good. I am even wondering if it is ancestral or generational trauma as I was not born with the behavior, as I remember not always being like this. I think it a learnt behavior stemming from my mom who is wonderful and loving showed me how to pop pimples when I was little. And it started out just popping pimples and then somehow that translated to picking my skin and I am wondering if some how my skin picking is a result of ancestral trauma specifically on my mom’s side.
