Ah thanks, seeing this video, I now know there's something wrong with mine. Just got it today, but it makes a very loud sound when used, like something is broken inside

It didn't cut clean through 40x40mm for me the few times I used it. I guess I didn't let it cut all the way through by itself. The one thing I don't liike about this saw is the switch does not lock itself in but U have to keep ur finger on it constantly..
I found I was pushing down on the handle then so I think a unit with one of those on/off switches like u get on table saws, etc would be a great addition to this saw bcos it's not a bad saw and I also think if u get some better quality blades it will work really well..
I was looking at the bearings for guiding the blade and they look cheap as heck bro. WHAT ARE UR THOUGHTS ABOUT THEM??

Why use a saw and not a metal cutting disk?
If I use it as a stationary tool, whats better about the saw compared to a disk?
This one has the option of being portable but whats else is useful about it?

in some shops you have flammable gases or materials that can catch fire, so you use this tool becuase it doesn't make sparks. this tool can also be mounted vertically so it stands as a table band saw. probably has other uses but that is all i can think of atm.

for precise cutting. also, trying to hold a angle grinder for a long time is very exhausting, not to mention noise, spark, safety and vibration.

Cutting disks, of the likes of angle grinders, hand-held of stationary are hot-cutting machines. Very fast but produces lots of heat, lots of spark and because of that the cut is not clean. The edges are a bit melted. You have to sand the cut afterwards to get a clean finish.
Stationary band saws cut metal very slowly but without heat. The cut is almost perfect with no extra work.
Also, although this parkside machine apparently doesn't support it, a lot of bandsaws have a trigger lock and you can leave them cutting some pieces of metal slowly, go do something else and come back in 5 minutes and find your pieces cut to length.
Lastly, then ones that like this parkside can be detached from the base, can be used a bit like jigsaws on metal plates to a certain extent. You can make rounded corners and insets if curves are not too tight.
