Nyepi 2024 - Bali's Day of Silence

Here in Bali we celebrate the coming year of the Balinese calendar with the day of silence, Nyepi. There are no lights , music, work or travel allowed. This year it falls on March 11th, 2024.
But Nyepi is only part of the whole story. The festivities last around 6 days to bring in the Balinese New Year filled with prayer and giant monsters. There is nowhere else on Earth to experience such a event. We visited the local banjar ( village ) to hear a few words about what Nyepi mean to them.
