I love that Joshua's back in Wilmington, where Dawson's Creek was filmed. And the fact that he's doing a remake of a Spielberg film, a director whom Dawson himself idolized. It's like everything's coming full circle!

That was pretty much already what happened in the show, so his outlook kind of lacked imagination. Pacey and Joey wouldn’t have got divorced. Them getting back together was due to them working through the issues that kept them apart. The common factor was their fears. That was the only real issue for them.
My guess is Dawson found someone and had kids and Joey and Pacey had kids and 2 of them fell in love but one of them also had a Pacey and ended up with them and not Dawson.
