I loved this video. Everything about it was interesting. I have to also say I love your new place. You both seem so…calm?…content, which I think shows you have made a choice that makes you happy! ❤
We have a refrigerator very much like the one in your storage space in our garage, that we still use for cold drinks. We purchase it right after we got married 47 years ago and it still works! We have gone thru 4 "modern" fridges in our kitchen over the years, and we did not purchase inexpensive ones. Guess it goes to show how things were made "back then" and how they are made now. New to your channel and love your home. Wishing you lots of luck as you remodel and looking forward to watching!
Raising 4 kids, 4 horses, beef cattle and occasional foster animals meant everyone pitched in. You mention Little House on the Prairie and I thank them as they may have saved our lives. South of Buffalo NY in our rural county blizzards were not uncommon as well as 3 foot of snow at a time. Getting from the house to the barn to do chores was a necessity. One particular long and nasty storm, as a precaution, we tied rope from the barn to the house. Well, we needed it as you could not see your hand in front of your face and the wind could have blown over a child and of course chores had to be done. We used that rope for 3 days!! At 82 yrs old, these are my memories of raising our family. All good ones albeit challenging!!
I love the bedroom with the iron bed, jute rug, blue and white bedspread, and the vintage straw hat on the antique pegboard/shelf. It's perfect and lovely!! I also love the bathroom floor. So, you're saying "Chunky Buns" is a pig, in more ways than one. lol 😆At the end of the video: I adore Gypsy horses and their mustaches!! Alec! Sooo cute!
Lovely video. Interesting that you turned what was most likely the living room at the front door to a dining room. It works really well. As to the rug... I have learned from experience to place a new rug upside down and walk on it for a short while. The edges naturally flatten and then you can reverse.
Awwww, I just love all of your animals, so very sweet❤️ House is looking very nice inside: comfy❣️ You and Matthew are just precious 🥰 Love your videos
I'm not big on carpet either but it's so much warmer in winter, I really appreciate it then. I live in Missouri and this has been a rough winter so far so I can relate to taking care of animals in extreme cold, ice and snow! 😊
All the puppy dog eyes were adorable! The animals look at home and happy!!! The house is a dream. I admire you walking around the house barefoot. My feet freeze November through March. Thanks for sharing your beautiful blessed life❤
I love your videos. They are so relaxing to me and I love all the pups. Walter cracks me up.Your new "old" home is beautiful. I have hardwoods all through my house and considering putting carpet in the bedrooms as my little house was built as a cabin originally and insulation is nonexistent in the crawlspace.
I enjoy all your videos, and I cannot get enough of the animals. Every one of them has an amazing and funny personality. They bring such joy to my day and a good giggle.
I love the joy and compassion you share about your home and animals. You are a wonderful couple. Please keep the videos coming. I can’t get enough!!! Love them ❤
I love watching your channel. Your home is beautiful. I live in western NY and it is very cold here too. I wish I was your neighbor, I would help you take care of all the "kids" ! Blessings!
All the animals look happy, and the horses are smiling ear to ear. The last bit of the video stole my heart. Your lives are the dream. Peace for you and your farm!
Hi Jenny, Matt everything looks beautiful inside the house, is your new chair Angel house design? It's beautiful I love the paint colors, and the rug looks beautiful! My goodness the work you guys did today was alot! How blessed the furkids are to have you both and I know that they have blessed you both as well. Hi guys yes very cold here in Virginia also been in teens 2 to 4 inches of snow Being Yankee down its kinda funny how people react to snow they freak out basically. 😅.me on the other hand love it.have warm and very blessed night ❤️ loves
I am looking to paint my kitchen and Swiss coffee is on my list. Do you know what colour your kitchen cabinets are? I love the chair and the chintz fabric! Very pretty!
I love the chintz chair. It reminds me of one my mother had. For years it had a big dip in the seat until she had it reupholstered and stuffed. I’d forgotten about that chair!
If you want to reduce the carpet bulk on the stairs, you could always do a pretty stair runner. It protects the stairs and keeps a cozy feel without the bulk. Just an idea.
Our daughter is on her 2nd boxer…they are funny, smart, athletic and beautiful!! Little John is going to be a 90 lb or bigger boy by the time he is 3 yrs old!
I love Boxers, Boston Terriers , and Frenchies. I have a Frenchie and Boston right now. Maggie is 5 yrs old and Sadie is 1 yr old. I love your Boxer . I love your new antique chair. Your house is beautiful.
❤ wow it’s looks so warm and welcoming! You both will make it your own! Love the animals, they look like there home! I love jute rugs as well! Great job on the door❤ I hope you have a wonderful week❤
😊 soo nice to see you guys thriving and in your element 😊❤ may wanna double check on disposing appliances in the the roll off dumpster. I wouldnt want you to get fined.
Love the chair,I have a red floral chintz loveseat and love it! 27 degrees tonight here in South Central Texas, we've had a polar vortex for several days, and I hate it!😊
It sure is great seeing you living your lives in your new cozy cottage! It is looking beautifully charming. Nice find on the Chintz chair!! Looking forward to seeing and hearing about your plans. It will be so much work, but you guys are up to the job, I'm sure. Love and Peace
Love to see all the animals in your sanctuary, so very lovely. Your farmhouse is beautiful cozy< Kudos to your grandmother for starting pansies from seed>I did that last year, by the time they flowered it was too hot, and no one wanted to buy them, they take a while. Love your stories!
You two are worker bees. The progress you've made in short order is amazing. By the way, I always enjoy listening to your opening music. What is the title and artist?
Thank you for taking us along. So enjoyable 💚 Can you cut some of the ponie's hair away from it's eyes? Or is it there for a reason? Lord bless your homestead 🙏❄💚
Jenny, I have been thinking about replacing an old stairway rug with a jute. I have dogs, also. Is the fur hard to remove vacuuming? I find these videos soooo relaxing. Love you new homestead!
I’ve just discovered you! I’m loving your videos - Nova Scotian here and honestly the property looks so much like it could also be here! Your home is fantastic and well, your eye for antiques and vintage pieces, is perfect ❤ I am loving all the back stories to all of your pieces. Your entire property is dreamy. I digress but my Dad passed last year and was born and raised in the Boston area there are a few words like bedroom and roof lol that instantly take me back to him.
Haha I have a very bad accent, I'm afraid. I never realized it until folks starting pointing it out now I can hear it too! Oh well. I guess that just makes me a Mainer. xxx
Hi! Here are a few questions for your Q&A: How did you and your husband's interest in an animal sanctuary come about? Did you grow up on a farm or around a lot of animals? If not, how did you learn to take care of so many different kinds of animals? How many children do you have and what are their ages? You mentioned that one of your daughters is going to vet school in Scotland. Does she intend to remain there and work there? Your other daughter must be the one you refer to as an artist. What type of art does she do? I also believe you mentioned having a son? Can you tell us more about him? How did growing up in an animal sanctuary impact their lives and their career choices? Did you homeschool your children? How often do they come back to visit? Your husband has an amazing relationship with the animals; you can clearly see the love in his eyes for all of them; you can see that it is his happy place, and the animals take to him like a duck to water. Because you tend to be holding the camera, we don't get to see you interacting with the animals like your husband does, but I'm sure your connection is equally deep and awe-inspiring. One last question. You tend to talk to the animals in a "baby" voice. Is that intentional in order to make them feel safe or is that just your own way of talking? Your new home, by the way, is beautiful. Your antiques are also beautiful. I hope you retain the neutral wall color because I think it brings out your artwork and your furniture much better than your previous house. Everything stands out and looks a lot cleaner, crisper. That's my two cents! Many blessings for the new year!

Hello from Western N. Y. Love all your videos. Love the new home. ( Kimberley)
I cant remember if there are existing fruit trees or If you will plant them. That old fridge could be a good storage space?🤷♀️🌳🍎🍐
There is a young orchard will be planting lots of fruit trees!!
You could turn your table perpendicular to the wall to have access to all 4 chairs and hopefully still have walk around room around it.
We tried! Unfortunately it took up too much space 💕💕💕 thanks for the suggestion though!
Jenny, I have been thinking about replacing an old stairway rug with a jute. I have dogs, also. Is the fur hard to remove vacuuming? I find these videos soooo relaxing. Love you new homestead!
