Minneapolis city council gets everything wrong why would this be any different ?
Defund the Minneapolis City Council!
City got what they voted for, putting these nut jobs in office
I traveled to Tulum and Uber doesn’t even exist there. Travelers weren’t like oh no what do we do? 😝 How come they didn’t care this much when 20,000 cabbies lost their job? 🤡 Taxis were highly regulated, Uber drivers aren’t even drug tested and can have triple the miles taxis did and no mechanic on hand. How many Ubers are out there with recalls?
The hypocrisy with these politicians is astonishing
Yes over regulation killed the taxi industry as well.
"Minneapolis leaders.." 😂😂😂
You spelled Somali Tribal Chiefs wrong.
@@chrisdilley1342 😅😅😅
I pledge to never visit that city
Do taxis still exist?
Jacob Fry really brought a blind man up to the podium 🙄🙄
Go woke go silly
**Advertisement and Actors paid for by Uber Technologies**
💯
.....win stupid prizes
🛑🛑🛑🛑
Everyone STOP DOING THIS.... These rideshare corps....like Uber and Lyft.... insultingly pay drivers pennies.....while they make billions with less work.....
The blind dude got paid.
Insanity of Domocrates
When people don’t understand contract work not full time 😂😂
Uber for the win 👏
uber and lyft were created as a part time job!! they said that since the first day but ofcourse skill less persons want to have a career there with high wages and benefits? whats next pensions for these drivers? all that for just being a cab driver!!!
Who said it'd be unaffordable? Have they tested? It seems like the rates would stabilize. As it is now, it's difficult for drivers and riders to determine a budget and cost as the fares adjust. At least if one takes the bus they know what it will cost each week. Why not let the market decide? What further cost do the ride share companies have - other than the cost of bribes and what not?
So we should care about all these people in these industries but the people who are providing the service receiving a livable wage is the issue? Drivers went to the capital to ask for an increase in pay and the governor shut it down, The Mayor was mia in getting everyone to the table and finding a solution and now they’re all mad cause the drivers prevailed without them.
Can you please explain how the drivers won? Seems to me that when Uber and Lyft leave Minneapolis, those drivers that "prevailed" will no longer have jobs. So exactly how did they win?
@@felixzayas8190 Uber & Lyft employed a similar strategy in New York and Seattle, where they threatened to leave when those cities raised driver pay. Despite the threats, Uber and Lyft are still operating in both places. While the possibility of them leaving Minneapolis is more concerning due to our smaller market, having worked in the Twin Cities tech scene, I know that new apps are emerging here. Additionally, two apps initially focused on transportation for disabled communities are adapting for broader use. Although the transition might be gradual if Uber and Lyft exit, it's significant that drivers are willing to endure financial losses to support local companies offering fair wages.

Too expensive because Uber and Lyft get 70% of rides and won’t budge . Imagine owning a company with 10,000 drivers in a state and the driver dose the ride, pay the gas, pays the maintenance on the vehicle, gets no dental, medical or any type benefits and gets 30% of every ride. But Uber and Lyft makes 70% of those rides just because they booked them. How can’t they afford to be in Minnesota if they make 70% of 5000 rides a day with low expensive?
They will never leave because they will make money no matter what happens!
City struggling to make a come back. Democrat president, governor, mayor and city council. All in power for years.
The BLM council is smart
Drive third of drunk Riders.
If Lyft and Uber are so valuable and useful, pay who make it happen / Drivers well. Point blank Period.
It’s 12 miles from Minneapolis airport to downtown…12.
It cost me 31$ in an uber last year, of which, the driver usually gets around 1/3.
So let’s say he got 12$ plus tip, for me that was 8$ for a 12 miles drive.
That’s unfair compensation?
You need customers willing to "pay" Uber for the price increase that they will eventually be asked to pay.
@@acbower4468 it costs you like $2 to ride the light rail
😂😂😂😂
Drivers and their families should struggle whiles Uber and Lyft ceos make $20m+ per year. This mayor should be investigated to ascertain if Uber or Lyft paid his campaign or his wife who is a LOBBYIST to see if he’s actually fighting for the city or his own selfish interest
Democrat run shit hole. No one's forcing your ass to work for uber or lift. Welcome to socialism
I bet you own a iphone too😂😂😂
Well, develop your own app and you can pay the drivers whatever you want….go ahead and fill this gap in the market. You have all the answers, and I’m sure you have the ability and time and resources and a heap of cash in capital to make this happen because clearly you have a background in both economics and software engineering and development
The problem is the Minneapolis City Council has no plan if Uber/Lyft leave. The council is constantly virtue signalling to everyone in the city with no actual plan or foresight for any policies they make
@@bricksbyficks6448they have to waive licensing fees for the first 2 years for new entrants if they truly care about drivers and riders.Frey doesn’t want to do that so he keeps pushing for Uber and lyft
Uber and Lyft have taken advantage of there drivers
The same can be said about any large corporation. You think corporations are supposed to be your friend?
Ok so the Minneapolis city council should have a plan for a replacement who doesn't take advantage of their drivers. The city of Minneapolis needs these services. Instead they just bicker with the Mayor about a cease fire in Gaza. The Minneapolis City Council is the problem, not Uber or Lyft
