Here are somethings I think people overlook with movies.
There is a lesson behind every great movie, the reason it is timeless is because the message is timeless.
Think of the best films, motion pictures that you have ever watched taught you something:
    Marketing skills and strategies
    Relationship skills
    Health risk
    Protective mechanisms
    Quick wits
    You name it.
If you are a cinephile - you should be ONE of the smartest people on earth. If you are not, then you really were not paying attention to what you were watching.
My life really changed when I paid attention to the details of the movies.
They are based on experiences. life experiences… so let the teachers TEACH.

I've watched many movie reactors and they tend to edit to about 30 to 45 minutes of reaction. Also, they show more of the actual movie on screen so that we know what they're reacting to. This also gives us viewers an idea of what is happening in the movie. As an example you could watch .. kazzy reacts .. she does a decent job on a movie called 'a Fish Called Wanda' .. She gets it about right for length and how much of the action we see, however, the volume on the movie sound track is far too low which kind of spoils it. Best of luck with your new channel. :)

Give a synopsis of the movie at the beginning. It helps us to understand what you are talking about better during your review. You would of course have to do this synopsis after you look at the whole movie on the paetron channel. Do a short synopsis and put it right before your edited reaction. You don’t have to give the ending of the movie away. Just give us an idea of the plot of the movie. Love you much, joe

I have two small suggestions. One, if the music scene is important or the movie is a musical, mute the song but show the image and your reactions to it. And the other one is to keep a little bit more of some scenes, to not leave the cut so small that we can't see exactly what's being reacted to it in that moment. Other than that, it's great, i'm enjoying this so much. Thank you.

.... Lulu is in this movie, the girl with the short red/ginger hair who married Maurice Gibb (Bee Gee's) . ..... She sings this song to Sidney Poitier at the leaving school party .... Filmed in the 60's .... This movie is all about a teacher getting a new teaching position and his class is the most unruly in the school, the students come from working class homes in an area where no-one had much .... It is a very powerful movie and a journey to a superb ending ..... I love this movie and I STRONGLY advise anyone who hasn't seen it to watch it ..... Sidney Poitier is BRIILIANT in this, though he was in everything he did .... We Brits loved him ..... I'm a 60's girl (no longer a girl lol) and enjoyed the best decade that ever was .... Known as the 'Swinging 60's' ..... Wonderful Channel ... Thank you so much for this ... WATCH THE MOVIE 'TO SIR WITH LOVE' SAME TITLE AS THE SONG ..... ....... Paula x UK

This film is based on the book (same title) by E.R. Braithwaite, who was from Guyana, served in the RAF in WW2 and attended Cambridge University after the war ended (he graduated with a BSc in Physics). The book is an account of his experiences as a teacher in the East End of London. He disliked the film as he thought it too sentimental. His book also contrasted the prejudice and discrimination he experienced in the East End as a teacher with the complete lack of prejudice he experienced during his war service.

    • @scottarooni

It's too bad that E. R. Braithwaite disliked the film. What's wrong with sentimentality anyway? I love movies that actually make me feel something, that move me. I mean, I guess that's an obvious statement. LOL I completely enjoyed KSO's reaction. She made me enjoy the film even more.

I love this movie!!! I wish that I had him as my teacher! Teachers make a difference in a kids life. One teacher changed me, just one! My sixth grade music teacher Mrs. Zip. She was tough, funny, no nonsense, and kind. I pulled a prank by putting super glue on her desk drawers. I glued them shut. She found out it was me, and she made me come in every morning an hour early to learn an instrument. I love playing the sax to this day. It kept me out of trouble. I never ended up in jail, dead, in a gang, on drugs, or homeless because of her lessons. I think about her every day of my life! That was 25 years ago! Thanks!

@@davidabercrombie5427 as I was 17. Your absolutely correct, it did not reach every one. And also in the world there were major issues of wars, racism, pollution, etc. With massive demonstrations. The theme, and the Logo "Summer Of Love" didn't necessarily mean that there was love that flowed endlessly, or young people wanted sex. How it was depicted by mainstream media.
It was in HOPE that the adults in the world, good or bad, would get the message that things have to be done/ change. As the movie depicts, it's all about racial , social class struggle. Not yourself, but if anyone sees this as just a cute movie, or as just a teacher impressing girls/guys, there in a different real reality. It's a movie about social justice, that's how Norman Jewison ment it to be, and do. Much has changed since 1967 in the USA there is no segregation, it's been removed. Things like this movie helped by getting youth involved in social struggles. If you like music try the song.

I just recently watched the last film Mr. Poitier ever made: "The Last Brickmaker in America," from 2001. Highly recommend.

Sidney Poitier owned 60s cinema. Some more you might like, A patch of blue, In the heat of the night. 1950s The blackboard jungle. Guess who's coming to dinner is also excellent, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracey two American cinema legends.

KSO great reaction to a great movie. Thank you. SIDNEY POITIER is a phenomenal actor. Try "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" if you have never seen it. That movie (1967) tackled a very sensitive subject (interracial marriage). As far as Lulu, please... I have loved her since the first time I heard her (The Boat that I Row). She has gotten even better over the years actually. Now that you have seen To Sir with Love the song makes a lot more sense I bet.

If this film is due on tv then it’s one that I always try to watch. It’s not quite real life but gets it’s message across.
There is a follow up … to sir with love 2, an American made for tv film from 1996, it starts in the UK with Mark’s retirement but, he announces he is moving to America to teach.

I suggested this some time ago for you, but whether or not it was based on my suggestion or someone else's, I'M VERY HAPPY YOU WATCHED IT. I KNEW you'd enjoy this film, it's in my top 5 all-time faves. It's got everything a perfect film should have. Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood notwithstanding, Sidney is THE COOLEST cat of them all. I would suggest you see the 1955 film BLACKBOARD JUNGLE, which is practically the same story, only this time Sidney is one of the students in a troubled class. The students in that film are worse than in To Sir With Love in my opinion. I like to think of this as almost an unofficial sequel to Blackboard Jungle, with Sidney many years later himself becoming the teacher, however he's a different character in each film. I'm rambling. Thank you, and glad you enjoyed this as much as I do. P.S. I cry at the end too, every time. lol

Sidney Poitier broke the color barrier in 'white movies'. Kudos to Hollywood for this and other Poitier movies. The typical theme is to send a white teacher into the 'hood'. Here, a black teacher enters a school with white delinquents and it works in a beautiful way.
You should check out Guess Who is coming to Dinner. Another Poitier movie with an all star group of actors who spanned decades of stardom (in addition to Poitier).

    • @hongfang2508

What I meant by 1st sentence above is that Poitier played roles reserved for whites in prior movies. So he broke the mold so to speak.

@Michael Conway: Unfortunately NOT any more. Brilliant ( Sir )* Sidney Poitier passed away ( died ) on January 6, 2022. R.I.P.
*( Sir ) = title, not what his students called his character in the movie. Sidney Poitier was knighted by the Queen of England in 1974 [ honorary - The Bahamas has already become independent from England a year earlier, in 1973. Title given was KBE ( Knight Commander of the British Empire. ) ]

I was gonna hate on you until I heard your final word. A great movie, maybe one of the greatest. And the dialogs are great. The songs reverberate with symbolic power to the time of the movie, and if you do not see this, it is the worst imaginable blindness. Lulu touches the heart of anyone who is not stone faced,
    IMO -YMV
