    Hi, I have this machine for two years now. No problems so far. It had a service a few weeks ago. The needle threader was a bit out of line and the automatic thread cutter didn't work as it should. For the rest I find it a wonderful machine. The only thing I really should learn is the Stitch creator. I can't find a good manual for that and it would be so nice to get deeper in to that. Thank you for your video's.👍

      Hi, I am honestly happy with this machine. As I said I use it a lot, and for all kind of fabrics and it delivers great stitches every time. Although 710 is a bit cheaper the knee lift optio of the 720 is so worth the extra price. I think you will love the knee lift, is like having a third hand! The IDT( integrated double transport ) is also amazing.

      @@CameliasSewingChannel I know what you mean with the IDT. Amongst my current lineup of machines, I have the Pfaff Ambition 620. The IDT makes for perfect seams. I found it very useful when stitching on the bias to create the triangle strip sets for one quilt. What is really drawing my to this machine are the Patchwork and the Stitch Creator functions. That would help me sew more efficiently and be another creative tool.

    I love my 710 machine! I've had it for almost one year and the main reason I bought it was because of the ease of switching from stitches. My older Pfaff had to dial the stitches and as I'm getting older the more strain it was for me. So this machine was a perfect fit for me, I hope to enjoy it for years to come🥰

      Yes, I love how easy is to get in the stitches menu, the 710 and the 720 are very similar. Great to hear you are happy with your machine. I bought mine online from my dealer, without testing so I am also happy that in the end I made a good choice 🥰

    Thanks for this Pfaff 720 review , very interesting.

    Great review for this machine from Pfaff, I had to laugh about your not liking the extension table when the curve on the front is just the same as the regular machine slide on, this is why I love that slide on table for my machine.

    I bought this pfaff 720 and previously the expression 2 with the extension table becauseofthe “waterfall” front and space on the extension. I have had problems with my hands and wrists including carpal tunnel syndrome and lam able tosew with my hands full supported in a neutral position ..its so comfortable that it doesnt upset my hands,wrists or shoulders. Everytimel use someone elses machine l cant waittoget backto my pfaff. I agree with most of whatyou say but eventhoughi hadthe expression 2 it took me a couple ofmonths torelax with it. One thing l still dont like is the noises and clunks itmakes getting warmed up and cutting threads.

      So great that you enjoy the shaped extension table, I think that is so important when we sew, to feel comfortable! On my Icon I have now a straight table which I enjoy very much. I think that is a Pfaff own " sound" 😅. I always found that starting up pretty noisy and I will tell you that Icon 2 does the same. But in the end the 720 is a great machine and we forget the little annoying things 😁

    My hubby bought me a Pfaff embroidery machine when he retired and I love it.
    The only things that annoy me are that it seems to need recalibration more than I think it should and the manual needle threader is awful. For what it cost it should have had an automatic one.
    Other than that 👍👍

    • @CameliasSewingChannel
      @CameliasSewingChannel  3 года назад

      I never owned an embroidery machine, I love seeing them in action but I get intimidated by hoops and all 😂, I think they are magic. I know what you mean, that some things could be better thinking on the price we pay for the machines. On the new coverstitch , the very fancy needle threader is not right calibrated and it works only after a bit of handwork, kind of disappointed about that, thinking on what I paid for it. But yes, for the rest, the sewing part is top!

I do agree, the stitch quality is great and everytime I am sewing something that I expect to get problems with, it surprises me ( or actually not :)) on how great is working. I noticed that I got so used with this machine, I do some setting without even thinking , is so easy. • @CameliasSewingChannel
      @CameliasSewingChannel  3 года назад +1

      Hi Marja, sometimes I have that too. I always try to keep the are where I need the buttonholes as flatter as possible, with minimal bulk, so I take care of the seam allowances, trimming and staggering them ( one shorter than the other) . Also, adjusting the presserfoot tension( pression), and sometimes I am even adjusting the stich length and width in the preset buttonholes , a bit wider zigzag lesser dense for really thick fabrics. I hope this helps a bit.

    • @CameliasSewingChannel
      @CameliasSewingChannel  2 года назад

      Yes, absolutely! It has all kind of stitches that you can use with knit fabrics. You can use a triple stitch, or the stretch stitch ( the one that looks like a lighting bolt) or you can even use a straight stitch stretching a bit the fabric as you sew, to get a bit of stretch in the seam. This machine is really great with knit fabrics, also having the IDT engaged is very helpful and putting the presser foot pressure a bit lower ( easy to adjust that from the machine menu).

    Thanks a lot for this film, as I am thinking about buying this machine for quilting, so additional table should be helpful, especially for bigger quilts. Unfortunately, it is not sold together with this machine, and you have to buy it separately :( I don;t understand why, as this is quilting machine... But now I am afraid of this table, because it is not stright, it is sloping.
    I wonder if anybody here used the machine for free motion quilting? Any problems with thread breaking?

      I am yet to try free motion quilting, ( I saw some nice projects on Craftsy :) so I can´t say much about that but yes, you are completely right, strange that the table is not included, and if I remember well it was kind of pricey, years ago it was 80 euros. As I said in the video the fact that is rounded and not straight is putting me off from using it, I am not sure how that works in quilting. What I can say for sure is that I never had problems with thread breaking and I am not using the best quality...not the cheapest either but you know, medium segment:). I am really happy with this machine and still consider it a really good choice.

I sew thru many layers of denim, and wool and other things. My advice is to try different needles ( thickness and types) and adjusting the pressure foot pressure and the thread tension depending on the things that you are sewing. This were things that I was adjusting, after a while of using it I knew what was needed, depending on what I was sewing. I hope you will try and don't give up on it, it is a great strong machine, and definitely working great on thick fabrics as well as on very light ones.
