just remember oil changes every 3k miles, only feed it premium gas 91/93, do basic maintenance and it should serve many smiles for a while.
And stay out of 3rd gear otherwise piston 4 is shooting out the fender

Congrats! I've had my 06 STi since 2008. I've been around the Subaru world forever. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Be sure to check your oil every time you fill up the gas tank and never go up hills at a low RPM.
Interesting why never go up hills at a low RPM? I guess that would just stall the car?
@@EvolutionBG Lugging the engine is the reason. Low RPM going uphill in a high gear will lug the engine and put heavy strain on the engine. Also, hard acceleration/WOT in 5th or 6th gear at low rpm will 'lug' the engine.. bad juju for Subie boxer engines.. EJ and FA series alike. It's bad for any car, especially turbocharged cars.

You have the same dream car as me, mine is a 2018 in a 6-speed but same colour, and generation. Love it!!!! And don't listen to anyone trash talking your CVT, not everyone can, or wants to drive manual, that is why they make a CVT version.

I have one myself, also an automatic. They're great cars! Service the CVT every 30,000 miles. It's not a lifetime fluid, it's never a lifetime fluid. Also be careful with the factory paint. Apparently it chips easily, but I've been good with my car so far. Enjoy the drive :D
I got a 2016 wrx this is really awesome! Make sure you do your walnut blasting every 30 to 40,000 miles it's direct injected so it builds carbon up fast on top of the valves.
A air to oil seperater or catch can or oil sump setup work good to.
@@dustinprescott4383 and gauges, for safety. I have yet to do an AOS or catch can but I've always wanted to.

Nice ride. I also have a WRX CVT but my is the year 2020 WRX. So I have the touch screen and Apple car play and android auto. I had my WRX for 5 years now. And I'm at 44,900 miles on it. So not bad for having it for 5 years now. And yes when I got the WRX it was brand new with 0 miles on it. So not even a used car.

@@vanillauwuactually cvts are good for daily drivers reliable if you don’t beat on them and get better gas mileage if you keep the cars stock they can be descent just don’t do what most bozos do and shift the car from reverse to drive while the cars still rolling and vice versa

@@ellitri_if you get one, go for a gen 1 or 2, and definitely do not go for a auto trans, the CVT’s are awful in certain WRX’s, legacy’s and even outbacks, they’ve got tons of common faults and they ain’t cheap to fix, gen 1 or 2 manual is the way to go, minimal electronics, they drive great and I love mine!

Nice! I recommend the kenwood excelon head units to replace your factory one. They have them with wireless Apple car play, I bought one for my 05 Subaru legacy gt. I bought a 17 sti last November and I love it. Looks similar to your car. Take care of the Subaru and it’ll tsar care of you. Enjoy!
