Thank you, this is the first reference I have seen showing a clear image of the seeds.
Thank you! I had such a hard time trying to find images of what the seeds looked like, so I wanted to make sure to include that.
I started seeing this beautiful plant around my apartment complex as I walked my dog! Love them!! I actually pulled some plants and replanted in a pot. These are doing "OK". I just got a handful of seeds in hopes that these will start in a pot!
I was able to start some from seed indoors this year so you should be able to. Tell your dog I said hi!
I live in VA and spiderwort is blooming now! In November! My neighbor had some blooming in her yard and didn't know what it was, so I looked it up. She said I could have all of her plants...I dunno why she doesn't want them, but I'm ok with it! hahaa! So I dug up some plants and put some in my garden and some in pots. I can't believe they're blooming now! I mean, our weather patterns have obviously been changing, so it does kind of make sense. I'm in Zone 8a and it's almost like our hardiness zones are changing to be warmer. Anyway, thank you for this video! I LOVE harvesting seeds!
That is crazy that the Spiderwort is blooming now! They usually bloom here around May or June.
@circlecityseeds I have things sprouting and growing everywhere that shouldn't be right now. It's nuts! I wish I could show you a picture of what I found this morning! Early last summer I had what looks like giant purple Liriope appear out of nowhere. I thought I'd cleared it all out of the front flower bed...the plants were big but had very small bulbs...round and not like rhizomes (tubers). So when I saw new sprouts this morning, that's what I thought they were. After digging about 8 inches down I found these HUGE bulbs! They almost look like giant garlic bulbs but they don't smell like anything...not garlic or onions. I'm transplanting them now to make room for my irises and lilies. Damn I wish I could show you! Haha! I have NO idea what they are!
Thank you! This is helpful

How cool! Thank you for this video!
Thank you for watching! Glad you liked it.
Thank you! I'm also interested in figuring out how to harvest the flower's ink. I hear it's good for tye dye
That sounds so fun! I recently heard of this book called Make Ink that might have some resources for that or something similar. I’m always a big fan of checking out your local library as well.
Which season do you plant these seeds?
Hello! There are a few different methods. I like to start my indoors about 10 weeks before the last frost. You can also direct sow them outside in the fall or spring.
thank you!
