A fair review of the vehicle. I just leased a 2014 model and am very happy with it so far. One quibble though is with the gas mileage which is not nearly as good in city driving as advertised (closer to 10l/100km than the posted 7.9l/100km). The front wheel drive model is already a bit of a porker at about 3,200 lbs so I would avoid the additional weight of the 4Matic system unless you truly require it.
I know all manufacturers love to nickle n dime you for everything but I really think Mercedes should make LED's standard across the range because that B-class and the CLA without them don't look premium atall!
MultiRyan2112 Don't know what you're getting at here. In Canada all CLAs & Bs get DRL LEDs standard. Xenons are optional (which comes with the LED rear clusters), but you are paying mid 30k for a Premium brand. Grandmother purchased a 2013 B250 with 8000km on the clock for $28k including taxes. Comes with backup cam, heated seat & Navigation. These things are a steal if you can find one with low kms & options you want.
+MultiRyan2112 They do that to keep the price of entry low for customers. Many buyers don't care about LED lights, as there are quite a few Mercs on the road in Toronto that have halogen bulbs. People like you & me would glady pay extra for the LEDs.
*My Mercedes B200 CDi AMG Line (W246) has LED lights and Fibre Optic interior lighting which is great, but only thing failed in 4 years has been rear number plate LED lights, easily replaced (in 30 seconds) on EBay for £12 Each ($20 Canadian)*
B-Class is a very nice car even if your in "Man in his World" Olympic basin. Pretty good looks & not to bad MPG either, but will the cost of ownership be the final thought?
Good review. I find the B-class front end quite striking when seen on the road. Also it's dash seems like a better design than the GLA. But it needs a power tailgate which the GLA has.
Are you kidding? 5 door golf starts at 20k, b class starts at 31k. Mercedes is 174.4" long, VW is 167.5. A loaded B class is around $40k, fully loaded golf is 30k. If you can afford it, get the B..if you can not, go with the golf. They are both great cars.
Torrey B You have to compare the GTI, it has almost the same power at 210hp and the identical torque. So starting at $34,000 for a 5-door duel clutch auto Golf GTI, the Benz is cheaper. They can be compared. The problem for the Benz is the Golf R, it will come pretty much loaded for about $40,000, the Benz can go over that price with all the options.
One is a performance hatch, one is a grocery getter...they can't be compared. No one cross shops the two... And the power similarity is irrelevant. It's all about how the chassis, steering, engine mapping, hearing, etc. is tuned. In that regard, they are no where near each other. The B class has few competitors..perhaps the Mini Countryman, Audi Q3, BMW X1. It is a very unique vehicle in terms of its dimensions and styling, though, hence the lack of true competitors.
J High but why?? it's a cute car! I'll definitely ask my dad to buy this instead of Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that car is a truck...V6.....not a student car -.- but this is cute and stylish! I love it! :)
Wish we could get the B-Class here in the States. I love the body style!

They are std now in 2018. Talk to Porsche; which doesn’t make them std even for a $200k 911!

ones with the mercedes bi-xenon lights look much better than the standard bulbs, bulbs make the cars look cheap
Should I buy a B250 2.0L turbo FWD - 2015 model, 111k Kilometers, for Cad$12000?

5:35 *You failed to mention that it is easily possible to get two full size Bikes in the rear with rear seats down.*
You failed to understand that no one cares....

What is better Mercedes B250 FWD or a vw golf?
Can't compare the two.
Why? Both cars are in the same price range and the size is very similar.

I'd very much prefer this over the tall-riding GLA250.
