If Frank pees in the van again, he may have a bladder infection. Our dog, Pepper, got one from playing in dirty water. Went to a vet, asked for a "broad spectrum" antibiotic that would kill most common infections and Pepper was fine again. Wonderful video and really like those Aleader water shoes!!

When our pup has an accident we use white vinegar to clean it up and help dilute the smell. I know, then everything smells like vinegar.

Great cup holder for your defuser! Just a drop of essential oil placed anywhere anytime will defuse into the air! I will clip on a clothes pin on the vent and place drops of oil on it! Works great!

I would recommend natures miracle to get the smell out, its an enzyme cleaner just for this situation and it worked when I was in that situation. I'm glad you guys still went hiking- that looked so awesome going up and so scary coming down.

Hey Kids. There is a very good product that has been around for years that will absolutely get rid of the odor and disinfect. The product is called OdoBan and it has been around for years and is excellent. You can get it at Walmart or just about anywhere. Stay safe little ones and have a blessed adventure.

The smoke has really put a damper on the washington activities as well. We are getting it from California, Canada and within Washington. Glad you guys are finding the best out of it. I’m so sorry about franks’ accident.
There are several steps to clean.
Soak up as much urine as possible from the upholstery before you use any cleaning agent.
Sprinkle baking soda on the stain and let it sit for 5 minutes. ...vacuum
Soak the soiled area with enzymatic cleaner. You can find this in a pet store. Leave it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes and then blot up as much cleaner as you can with newspapers, a towel, or paper towels. Finally, leave it to dry.
You may need to repeat this step again if the enzymatic cleaner doesn't get rid of the odor or stain the first time.
Repeat as needed!
Sorry I know Trent your setting in a wet set a lot!
A few days of wet setting, with dry towels, to get your van to smelling sweet again will be worth it!

Amazing views, too bad for the smoke but still was epic. Waiting for the fires in Montana to go out my self, this weekend 7 new fires started by the lightning storms in the Bitterroot Vally but it rained all day and night, hope it puts the fires out everywhere. So I'm seeing this 1yr later...but notice you don't have them in central America either! You both need swim sandals. Sold at REI, Land's End, Cabela's etc. For swimming, paddling, easy walks.
I recommend Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover to get rid of dog urine stains and smells. It is environmental, pet and people friendly. You can add it to laundry & carpet cleaners as well. Check in pet supply stores. This product really works and leaves a fresh sent. Made in USA.
I get it in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. FYI - The air quality here is horrible too!

Oh no, that SUCKS about the dog pee! Poor Frank, sounds like he had a little separation anxiety/FOMO moment. I do a lot of fostering and transports for our rescue here in Austin, a little too familiar with that hot-baked-pee-and-puke situation. Hands down, the best, get yourselves some Skout's Honor Urine Destroyer (not sponsored, just really effing works the hardest!) Do you get the Fabrese odour eliminating spray in the US, it works at getting rid of odours. Or sprinkle some baking soda and let it sit for a while then vacuum it up. Really helps to get rid of odours

That tells me it is possible he has a UTI or something else). My dog would do that (on my bed or a place he knew was my spot) when he had a health issue. I highly recommend he visit the vet.
You might want to put some pee pads down until you could get him to the vet.

Our van goes up hills just fine even being fully loaded. They may have a little more power going up hill but it's not a race anyway. Just wait til we're both at 50,000 miles and see the $5,000+ they'll have spent on repairs haha. Sprinters are just expensive problematic vehicles. Promasters are more practical and affordable. I say buy a sprinter if you can afford to buy 2. If not, don't buy one.

For a housebroken dog to pee inside he’s experiencing one of two things: a urinary tract infection or some incredible amount of stress, as defined by him not you. In all cases, it’s our fault.

Theres no changing the seats in the van haha. we tried to clean them we think it was just an accident
He was "pissed" at you. I suppose he could have been scared but he could have been mad for some reason. I have an aussie that is great with a dog door when I am gone but she gets mad at me for sleeping during the day since I work nights so she will take things from inside the house outside and chew on them but only when she is mad.

I got very upset when my dog did peepee, since it had NEVER happened before. I let it go.....thinking it was a mistake. Well it was s medical condition. So, just a heads-up! Hope all is well, after the smell is gone!!!!!

Aw, Frank. I don't think he's expressing discontent. Still, I'm not there. Maybe have a vet check out his bladder. Dogs are rarely the vindictive type. He probably just needed to go badly and was doing the best he could.

Frank may have a UTI. Maybe should get his urine checked. My cat pees all over the house when he has a bladder infection. Also be aware of blue green algae in the water. Many dogs getting very ill here on the east coast after being in lakes and streams.
Also, you could get him a belly band. It's like a wide belt that goes around his pee pee area. You stick a maxi pad in it. Yes, I speak from experience. My male adoptee came with them.
We'll keep an eye out for anything else. Maybe he got sick

Is it safe for your health to hike while there is Haze? I have a friend their in Vancouver, talked to her this yesterday and they are advised to stay indoor as much as possible.

terrible storms yes and we should not have hiked in the smoke but we only had one day to do it so oh well

Pretty funny the MM's were talking about the smoke where they are in WA as well. You are really giving me an urge to join van life! But it might be a little tough with 2 cats. I couldn't imagine what a litter box would smell like in an enclosed space! Just no.
And how do you feel about the vegan lifestyle after doing it for so long? Also, high recommend using some Nature's Miracles or something else when cleaning those seats!

Never heard of that litter box, unless it's the one that works on a toilet, but I'll look into it. Ideally I'd get them both leash trained (if they'd ever even let me allow me to put harnesses on them).
