The MiG was piloted by a Stormtrooper.
"Several planes moving in a cluster didn't get a single hit.
Although they were flying straight towards the anti-aircraft gun, for a very long time and without maneuvering.
Were blind moles shooting?"
@Jon-m19y nah those things was like flying a brick roll was like two ton psi it be hard to aim also every thing at that time was by eye no hud
MiGs used autocannons which were much slower firing than the machine guns used in earlier planes, harder to hit but you ain't surviving a hit. Early Sabres started out using machine guns but later models swapped to autocannons like the MiGs. It was so hard to hit that you needed the explosives and near guaranteed kill from a hit.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you make my day thx
@chrisanderson7820 The six .50 caliber mgs on the Sabers were good weapons, but not in the jet age. However, they performed well-enough against MIGs (see the kill ratios for the war). The cannons on a MIG were designed for shooting down large, slow-moving bombers (B-29 Superfortress). They were too slow of fire to be efficient in dog-fighting against smaller, agile Sabers. But if they hit, that's a dead Saber. IF the hit. In addition, Saber pilots were better-trained than MIG pilots (even the Soviet pilots flying for the Nork air force). Finally, the Saber was a better overall aircraft than the Mig-15, which most likely wouldn't even pass qualifications to be included in the USAF.
That MiG has 999 ping? Pathetic work from scenario.
Actually a Corsair did shoot down a mig in Korea, but it was not Jesse Brown or his wingman.
It was a north korean pilot. lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@777Pantheraleo WIKIPEDIA: On 10 September 1952, a MiG-15 made the mistake of getting into a turning contest with a Corsair piloted by Marine Captain Jesse G. Folmar, with Folmar shooting the MiG down with his four 20 mm cannon. In turn, four MiG-15s shot down Folmar minutes later; Folmar bailed out and was quickly rescued with little injury.[92]
That might would've been out of rounds halfway through lmao if you take in consideration that the belts wouldn't have normally been all tracer rounds and you'd have two different types of shells between the tracers haha
Sorry guys, it was my first day as a Mig pilot.
I’ll do better next time.
🤣🤣🤣
It was a north korean pilot. lmao
it was first time as a pilot )
Clearly the trees were that mig pilot’s main target.
Yep and I didn’t see him miss once.
Storm trooper flying that Mig!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did he stole it here too?
And manning the AAA. Those proximity fuses must have been hooked up to smoke bombs. If there was flack, those planes would have been chewed up.
“I have you now.”
Dogfighting at low altitude with drop tanks attached--ask Thomas McGuire how that ends.
Dog, keeping tanks on against an already faster gen bird. Insane.
The attack formation is pure fiction 😂😂😂
@Fly-Road So is DEI at 0:28. As soon as I saw it, I knew the clip was going to suck.
@BillDownhillActually, this is based on the true story of Lt. Hudner and ENS Brown. Navy corsair pilots serving in the Korean War. Brown has the distinction of being the first african american to complete the US Navy’s training program and did so in the face of rampant racism. Through his experience and skill he earned the respect of the fellow pilots in his squadron who famously stood by him in France when a bar tender refused to serve him. So the entire squadron refused to patronize the bar and left with Brown.
Brown was shot down in Korea. But the crash did not kill him. He was severely wounded and pinned underneath the wreckage. His close friend, Lt Hudner, attempted a rescue, but ultimately could not save him. Lt Hudner was awarded the Medal of Honor for his rescue effort. ENS Brown was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his achievements.
Theirs is a very real story of naval aviators whose honor and humanity tramscended the racial boundaries of the time, and still serve as an example of what we can all strive to be.
To diminish their story as “DEI” is an insult to their service and Ens Brown’s sacrifice. You should read the book this is based on. It’s an eye opener, and you may come out the other side more respectful of what this young man had achieved.
The US mulitary spending cuts were so bad that spare tanks were in short supply, resulting in many planes forced to ditch into the sea on the return journey.
a mig chasing a lawnmover and missing all the shots , really now hollywood.
Actually this is based on a real life incident where this actually did happen. The F4U Corsairs should have been sitting ducks but the MiG-15 could not hit either of them.
🤣🤣🤣
MiG pilots were vastly inexperienced against the US and British pilots who gained a lot of experience during WW2 a RN Sea Fury is credited with the first MiG kill in Korea
An ordinary day in War Thunder Tier IV Arcade Battle.
MIG pilot is blind and AA crew is also using braille to target
That's not where the Ukrainians were gunners, they didn't shoot at their own people just to distract their eyes
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Bro AA guns rarely shot down planes
ah Americans
all war movies are always propaganda
The MIG is firing at every particle of air its path but the Enemy Plane.. WTF !
For me it's comparable to the stormtroopers from Star Wars.😅
sherman destroyed tiger
f14 3rd gen destroyed su57 5th gen
ww2 battleship destroyed alien tech mothership
corsair destroyed mig15
**absolute cinema**
thank god u did not mention Iron Eagle III "Aces"
Murica! 😂
Oh you forgot to say...a human tech nerd hacks the alien ship OS what a whole team of NERDS never did in 50 yrs...
on Sep. 10, 1952 Capt. Jesse Folmar flying a Corsair from VMA-312 was able to destroy one of two MiG-15s that had bounced both him and his wingman.
Saving Private Ryan proved that constant music detracts from a war movie.
These dogfights are a load of shiaaatttt.
Fun Fact: In Real Life a Corsair did actual shoot down a Mig-15. By F4U-4Bs. Capt Jesse G Folmar in 1952. No Migs where flying in this area of the area in 1950.
@Dogmeat1950 Aah, someone who knows a lot more about history than a lot of the dumb schmucks commentating here.
Why are the enemies worst pilots? They can't hit a broadside of a barn.
otherwise , movie is over ... 😂
@jeffreymodesto168 , sí pero que al menos una bala le de a un ala o algo.
On the other hand, you were aiming for "o" and hit "p" instead... suddenly this terrible aim doesn't seem so unrealistic anymore
Because it's a Hollywood movie
@n0vast0rm It's like that with any movie aerial battles. That Mig-15 should've made mince of those Corsairs. It had speed and firepower. That'd be like F-16 losing to 2 P-51D Mustangs.
The enemy Pilot😅
In Hollywood movies all supposedly bad guys cannot shoot accurately
This is probably all you need to see from this entire movie, and I love aviation & movies!
Awe
A pilot's first response to taking enemy fire is not to talk on the radio.
I kinda regret not going to see this in theatre
Total BS. No MiG-15s in 1950 participated in the fighting over northwestern North Korea. At this stage of the war, the only MiG-15 unit in combat was the Soviet 64th Fighter Corps, and Stalin restricted its operations to northwestern North Korea, soon to be dubbed MiG Alley.
hollywood movie recipe, american hero + russia enemy + china enemy + popcorn + coke 😂
Its a movie princess chill
Jews rewriting history cus they are the real victors of both world wars. White Christians as a sacrifice by Jews
Is Sinuiju not exactly where MiG Alley was? Probably the bigger BS is that they didn't have jet fighter coverage of their own.
Total bs. MiGs did boom & zoom, chasing a slower but more maneuverable plane at low altitudes never happened - plain stupid.
they would of dropped tanks too
@jeromereinhart4946a good point. There also would normally be at least a pair, not a lonely cowboy (although theoretically one could have to abort a mission due to technical issues) and the number of shots MiG did implies that it had the ammo unlimited option switched on: MiGs had only 40/37mm and 80/2/20 mm rounds to waste
Actually it did happen this way more than once. The Soviet Pilots knew never to come down this low, and how to get the best out of their MiGs. The Chinese and NK pilots were less well trained and made basic errors.
@xj900ukafa I am aware there was only one case when a MiG (probably with a NK pilot indeed) was shot down by something with a propeller - and yes, it was F4U (which itself was shot down immediately after the victory). The MiGs were in pairs, the altitude was about 10,000 ft and the whole action took seconds a couple of turns, one MiG pilot’s mistake - boom. Nothing even remotely resembling this ridiculous teaser.
@shelonnikgrumantov5061 There is also one case in the Korean war where a flight of Fleet Air Arm Sea Fury's (a turbo prop plane, a little like the Corsair) where carrying ground attack ordinance when they were bounced by a 'gaggle of MiGs'. One of the MiGs then slowed down dramatically to try and match the speed of the Sea Furys and get on the tail of one, and the Sea Fury behind suddenly realized he had a MiG right in front of him 'almost flying perfectly straight' so opened up and let loose with all of his air-to-ground unguided rockets. One hit the MiG dead centre and blew it to pieces. A most unexpected victory for a Sea Fury which had virtually no air-to-air armament other than its cannon. But also another example of how a MiG pilot (almost certainly Chinese or NK) surrendered all of his advantages and made basic mistakes to try and get into a kill-shot position
How much ammo is that Mig carrying??? 🤣🤣🤣
When you play a game on story mode.
Not 1 downed by the artillery and the plane is flying str8..LOL.
A little corny yea. Probably has at least a little to do with how they wanted to movie to be rated. R-ratings are harder to make money on. Just a business decision.
Also I have no idea what this movie is rated so if it is R I retract my point.
a Mig 15 would've shredded a bunch of Corsairs
dogfighting with drop tanks???
The CGI guy doesn't know anything about combat aviation
An average War Thunder Air RB match. Corsair players loading rockets and diving to kill ground targets. AD-2 players flight straight and not helping them. A MIG dives trying to get kills on the lawnmowers Corsairs and then he just zig-zag in low altitude while the MIG spends his ammo.
Facts 😂
To be fair, in this scene, the Skyraiders aren't suppose to attack the AA, they're supposed to attack the bridges after the Corsairs stomp out the AA.
Perfect war thunder game 😂😂😂
It was made to look like a kids’ movie, but in reality it was completely different.”
first clip of the mig flew infront of them with incoming AA
Yeah, even the Death Star knew to stand down their cannons when they sent in Tie fighters! ruclips.net/video/3yWrXPck6SI/video.htmlsi=yzpXUzfhQ-bBd5J8&t=560
This summer and every summer to follow see Glen Powell say yes to every single script he’s handed…
Such a great feature, which prompted myself in getting Johnny Lightning's F4U Corsair from their Korea Forgotten War series.
Take care, and all the best.
Hadn't the producers heard about the finger four then? lmao
That is an extremely close formation
Even after the second world war, the allies had the "cannon fodder" strategy: use as many pilots possible and replace them. It was the expensive jets that changed this strategy since they were also complex machines and required significant training for the pilot. Essentially these two factors made the demand of tactical formation important and after the Korean Truce helped to form real pilots. Some old German Veterans as trainers, didn't hurt either to change the doctrine of air to air and air to ground operations.
Probably just to fit em in frame. Not sayin it’s a good movie. I love realism in film. It’s just whenever I see these suspension of disbelief issues people criticize I like to point out how hard it is to get any movie made. Idk I digress don’t come at me.
That a storm trooper in that mig?!
Good job the enemy cant hit a single thing even when nobody moves lol
that mig had 50ms latency
So many things that are inaccurate here
😂Yup!
Thank you for your service
He just installed War Thunder yesterday. He’s a new player don’t be toxic.
@Garydsntcare 😅
looked like a video game instead of watching a movie
Glenn Powell in all pilot-related Hollywood movies since Top Gun?
I think he has recently got a pilot licence as well
Hangman💪
Those Corsairs are beautiful.
yea lets just stay in the straightest line instead of swerving to make it easier for them to target lmao
Still 1080p?
are you serious
0:22 great footage of the Corsairs
And a few Skyraiders too 👍
The migs never carry this gigantic stock of ammo !
what i don't understand is why Mig is flying in the middle of his own antiair artillery
this too
That’s a bold move Cotton. Let’s see if it pans out for him.
Why did the mig fly through the flak lol
These guys are always the heros when they lost almost all thier wars
I love the plot armor against flak cannons. or whatever the F they were shooting at them.
Starring Glenn Powell? What about the other guy?
Woke edition
Johnathan Majors from Ant Man and Creed 3 movie fame. A good film despite Beebop "Woke" comment because its a black man in anything other than a slave/servant role.
The movie was more about the "other guy" actually, as was in the book.
first few parts of the scene reminded me of the story from planes about
skipper 😆
this movie came out like 4 years ago
And nobody watched it.
@Jpab_in fr
They're finally making proper movies again
Yes, the pilots were Russian but the markings were North Korean.
Those were the days😮
Another false America war propaganda
Yeah but we shot down 10 migs for every one of ours Kyle
@NATES84 Black Thursday, April 12, 1951, air battle over the Yalu River. 6-12 bombers and 5 fighters were destroyed, 13 B-29s were damaged. 120 American pilots were captured by the North Koreans. 0 Soviet Armed Forces losses. Is that what you mean?
thank you.
I’m pretty sure the MiG should boom and zoom rather than staying behind at the same slow speed as the Corsair.
I'm also pretty sure that Corsair cosplaying Ju-87 dive from several kilometers to ground level without flaps and airbrakes should end piercing vertically into the ground at 500 mph.
Finally someone knowing boom and zoom!
its wild to recognize how far behind we were with military weaponry during the world wars and korean war
Best aviation movie so far
This is what a Star Wars battle should feel like.
It really reminded me of Star Wars when they nose dived and started taking fire from the AAs.
@dimitarmargaritov The space battles in the original trilogy were heavily inspired by WW2 air battle movies. So it's not strange to be reminded of it.
"It's not the plane, it's the pilot" (Top Gun: Maverick)
It’s not the plane you fly, it’s the pilot who’s flying the plane.. that’s doing the flying
-SuperFast
On behalf of my family, I just wanted to thank the veterans (and the families of those never returned home) for fighting for us Korea. ❤
omg.. Mig pilot is me on battlefield 6
Someone needs to do a film on the life of Gen Robin Olds. His life is the perfect script for a movie!!
There's a guy who has animated videos of war planes forgot his name he talked about this battle
tired of more hollywood propaganda
It’s a film, for entertainment, grow up.
@ragetobeit's for kids on coolaid, like u. Cope
Bye bye
Hey!! You can't just stop the trailer there!
Hollywood fantasy 🤣
What do you mean? Germany had jets towards the end of the war
That MiG player had only keyboard and mouse.
The Korean War totally messed things up in Korea.
Yea war will do that lol
War tends to happen when things are already messed up
you don't say
Maybe Korea should demand "reparations" from the powers that were responsible ...
Esse film é MUITO BOM!!!!!!!!
The US only saves the world in movies. In real life, you have to save the world from the US
@davidjob4909 True... that's why Bush invaded Iraq, WMDs, got them ALL! Both parties start and/or continue wars we should never have been in. Both parties have engaged in wars that we should have been in.
Respect to the camera man
Wow... the most realistic scene I have seen.
You just kiddin, right?
Mig pilot must be blind 😂
Never saw it.
With the plot armour that guy had, they might as well have had 10 migs. Sheesh
I hate the plot armour...no way am i watching this!!
This is like a dogfight by the A Team.
Hollywood where old F-14s easily destroy Su-57s where MIG-15s can't shoot down F-4Us
As long as there is an american pilot in the cockpit! Even if he was flying a WW1 biplane aircraft he can still outmaneuver and shoot down an enemy's 5th gen fighter!
@hasanenfaisal7009 LOL
I love these realistic scenes in movies 😎
IDDQD - secret way to fly through flak fire
Absolute comment gold.
Jet engine has joined the chat
Maverick: Am I joke to you
They can't put you know who's name in the title tut tut.
